Title: Any rolling blackouts in your area.
Post by: smithjcsdfw on August 05, 2011, 01:20:45 pm
Here in the DFW metro area with all the heat we are having the power companies are threatening rolling blackouts.   Which from a laymans view I am finding hard to swallow since the power companies have got to know how many customers they have and how much power they consume.  Is this just another case of pour planning on your part constitues and emergency on our part?  Is anybody else expierienceing  these rolling blackouts?

I live close to a hospital and on the hospitals electrical grid.
Which means, it's rare to have a blackout or it's short lived.
The electric company responds quickly or quicker to the rest of the area.

I am in Austin and we also are being warned about possible future blackouts.  We are being asked to conserve energy.  I think that the utility companies do try to plan but can never predict the extremes.  We know that it is going to be hot in Texas in the summer but not this hot.  Some of the problem may also be the growth in Central Texas.  Maybe the utility companies can not keep up with the growth.   :dontknow:
