taking fiber like psyllium husks or a colon cleaner would help the colon can hold pounds of junk.

I am trying really hard to eat healthy. For years I have tried off and on but seem to get off track and eat too much sugar and such. Right now my hubby and I both are really trying to loose a few pounds and it is hard. I am cooking VERY healthy and it is so hard to cut out the sugar and butter and bread.

I think that we eat too much process foods.
True. For the last few years I have been eating less processed foods. Canned and packaged foods have way too much salt and sugar.

I saw a report about the way people in France eat. They eat more often and a lot of sweets, yet they have no obesity or heart related illness in comparison to tpoe United States. Why? because they don't eat or cook with process foods. It is just so expensive to purchase natural foods these days. The only time I do is in the summer, when I can grow some of it myself.

I try to eat healthy most of the time. Sometimes it's a higher priority to accommodate and satisfy my taste buds.
I believe eating healthy is different for different people. For me it's about making sure I don't consume too much sodium and I get a lot of potassium.

I'd like to think I eat reasonably healthy. The real trick is moderation! Big surprise there i'm sure. But honestly, having cheat meals or snacks are fine. The key is to not make one cheat decision turn into an entire weekend binge or something to the like. Eat the sweet but keep it to a reasonable minimum. For insteance, eat 2 cookies but don't eat the 8 you probably could eat. Or eat pizza every now and again but do not eat the entire thing yourself. Good luck!!!

We eat very healthy at our house. We cook a lot of fresh vegetables and very little red meat. We eat bison when we are red meat hungry! It's great! Lots of fish, turkey and chicken. It's actually hard to find a healthy meal in a restaurant. For those who are trying to lose weight, count your calories. Keep a calorie log and you won't believe how the calories in each bite add up by the end of the day! Eating healthy won't drop the pounds alone. You have to exercise to burn off the stored fat! It's not an easy task, but so worth it to have a healthy body.

Yeah, we try to eat as healthy as we can.
Organic veggies and fruit, and meat is organic, free of anti biotics and steroids. Free range chickens and eggs, grass fed beef, if and when we buy beef.
Take all kinds of supplements. Particularly love the Youngevity colloidal minerals. Take Orgono silica, Vitalzym systemic enzymes, Platinum Plus amino acids and/or MAP (Master Amino Acid Pattern)
South spin all fluids as per Farm Physics: A New Cure and More! by David L. Kaas
And absolutely no pHARMaceutical drugs or vaccines of any kind.

I try to eat healthy sometimes and try to find healthier alternatives! I watch Dr. Oz sometimes and get some pointers about healthy recipes and foods that are low in calories and fat!
-
I can't afford to eat healthy but if someone has a way a poor student can eat healthy I'm all ears :)

I try to eat healthy by eating foods with fiber and at least one vegetable a day. Also drink 6 to 8 oz of water.Koolaid always throws me off no matter how I diet it has more calories than I realized.

Eating healthy is really about being simple and eating more veggies, fruits and whole grains. Avoiding processed food is one way to start eating healthy. Just simple changes like drinking more water, cutting out soda and switching to whole grains can help.

I agree with counting calories. I use an iphone ap where I have a set daily goal for calorie intake and I can just enter everything I eat and it adds it all up for me. I like it because it allows me to splurge once and a while and eat things that aren't necessarily healthy, but seeing how much of my daily calories those things absorb helps me to avoid eating them too often.
If you eat out at all, something I always do is look up the menu ahead of time and check out the calorie information before I go. That way I can pick out exactly what's the best option without trying to guess what seems healthy while at the restaurant.

I have a hard time sticking to diets and eating healthy. Most of the things I like are fattening or bad for you. I've been eating less lately but not really healthier.
-
It's getting almost too expensive to eat healthy! Fresh fruits and vegetables are outrageous at our local markets.
-
Absolutely, nutrition and health go hand in hand. Just read a book called The China Study that was very eye opening to the foods that we eat and how they effect disease, cancer, diabetes, etc. What I took from it is that animal based foods are killing us.

Not really to much, I don't know I just cook, I think I am a good cook, but I don't know with butter and stuff I put into stuff, at one time I didn't eat meat. I am sitting here eating organic crackers with flax seed, sea salt, sunflower oil, wheatflakes, only cuz it was 25 cents for the whole box. Used to buy alfalfa sprouts and multigrain bread, and lots of vegetables, but now there is so much food scare that alfalfa sprouts and such, you don't know what is or what is not healthy.

we don't
