:oToday same-sex marriages are on the rise. One gay lady said, people don't really know what it's being gay. They think that it's something dirty, nasty and adnormal for anybody to marry a person of the same-sex. She also said , all they want to do is to have a chance to their lives freely. I think if God wanted two people of the same-sex to marry he would had made another man for Adam instead of Eve. He made women for man because he wanted men to be able to multiply for many generations to come.
-
Whose business is it of anyone else what two consenting adults do as long as they aren't hurting anyone else? Who is gay marriage hurting? If you don't believe in it don't marry someone of the same sex as you but why deny other people from doing it just because you don't agree? (I'm speaking in the general you not you personally).
-
most people who are anti-gay is in religion, but hold on though alot of people in religion are fakes who try to hide that they lust after the same sex.so they are hypocrites. :dontknow:
-
I feel it is no ones business and everyone needs to mind their own business, :angel12:

I believe God intended for a man to take a woman for a wife.

I believe God intended for a man to take a woman for a wife.
Who's God? Just because you believe one thing does it give you the right to tell other people how they should live their life?
-
My biggest issue with this entire thing is the lack of ability for a homosexual couple to marry. The decision was made based on the "bible" claiming it was wrong.
Now, in my opinion, there is two whole hearted reasons why using the bible is wrong.
1. The Constitution states that there is to be a separation between church and state- therefore; laws cannot strip homosexuals the right to marry one another.
2. The bible was written by man as an interpretation by God. The man that interpreted God's word, could have easily misinterpreted or even thrown in some thoughts of his own.
-
Marriage is not exclusive to religion; it merely entitles two people to legal "benefits" here in the US. If marriage were purely religious, how can you go to a state office and just sign papers to be married? If ministers of whatever religion don't want marry homosexuals, then they shouldn't have to. However, the government should not block homosexual marriages for religious reasons.
Unfortunately, it's led to other inequalities.
For example, I cannot be put on my fiance's health insurance, because we are not married even though I am his live-in spouse. However, his homosexual coworker's live-in spouse is included under the same health insurance plan my fiance has.

Yawn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have my own beliefs but also believe in individuality and don't judge anyone else because I'm not on this earth to judge other people! :)
-
there are no future generations with same sex marriages. God intended marriage to be between a man and a woman. Human beings are the highest, most intelligent, not animals. We don't just function on instinct.
-
You are incorrect. God originally made animals for Adam... bom chicka wow wow!

1. The Constitution states that there is to be a separation between church and state- therefore; laws cannot strip homosexuals the right to marry one another.
The Constitution does not say this.
I have no problem with gays having some form of a legal union that bestows upon them the same financial/etc privileges as a married man and woman. I do have a problem with calling such a union a 'Marriage'. Name it something else is all I ask. The only reason I can see on the insistence of using the term 'marriage' for this union is not for the purpose of being inclusive but strictly to corrupt the traditional word 'marriage'.
-
Everyone has their own opinions on this and that is perfectly fine. Not everyone is going to agree. I myself don't really agree with same sex marriage BUT I would never try to deny someone happiness because I don't share the same feelings.
-
i agree its nasty
-
If Marriage is so awesome and quite a wonderful thing according to thise anti-gay marraige people then why keep people from it? If they're so concerned about the integrity of marriage and such, then why aren't they out crusading against divorce? I personally don't care what two people do in their lives, as long as they're not hurting people or damaging other people's property who cares?
-
The problem is,if we're willing to except deviant behavior as the norm, where does it end? There are already rumblings of polygamy on the horizon (with shows like Sister Wives attempting to desensitize people to this new "lifestyle") I'm sure in 20 years we'll be seeing it become legal as well.
-
I say keep your bible thumping :bs: to yourself. :bootyshake:

It's amusing how any point of view is tolerated on here, except the Christian perspective. ::)

Maybe not word for word, however the first amendment does state this...
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."
Which is a separation between church and state.

Maybe if Christians weren't so adamant about shoving their beliefs down everyone's throat then their views might be more tolerated.

It shouldn't matter who a person falls in love with. Creating a law against it isn't going to stop them from loving each other. Just think, if they're able to marry the one they love, they won't be coming after you. Not that they would anyway. The constitution states that ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL. This means blacks, whites, males, females, gays, lesbians, transgender, homosexual, and heterosexual. Stop trying to change stuff to your liking. Just because you chose to ban it, doesn't mean it will ever go away. Just let people be people. You can't stop a Christian from being Christian or the feelings one has for another, so stop trying and just accept it. If you can't accept it, ignore it. Whatever makes you sleep better at night.

I for one don't think anyone has the right to judge someone else over a sexual preference. Gays and Lesbians have the SAME rights as everyone else. I am so tired of hearing negative stuff about this.
-
As a gay male. I believe in my god. As for it being a sin. I don't agree with it. God wants everyone to love everyone know matter what. Be treated the way you'd want to be treated no matter the sexual orientation. I love everyone. I have many straight friends. More straight guy friends then straight girl friends at that. The straight men love us gay men. We have all the ladies...Just sayin'. But everyone has there own opinion.

That doesn't sound like separation of church and state to me. That sounds like instruction to congress to not pass any laws prohibiting religion or favoring any specific religion. The language is interesting in the way it is written in that it is very adamant in regards to "or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." If I cannot pray in public (not that I generally have such tendencies for prayer is mostly personal to me) because of laws then obviously I am being prohibited from doing this. This same reasoning applies to my praying in any place and at any time within US controlled borders or territories.

Everyone has a right to live their lives as they see fit. Who are you to judge anyones lifetime? Who made you God? No ones life is perfect, so take care of your business and stop thinking of yourself as a saint.

As average Americans we hate when the government says we can't do the things we want. Gay and lesbian marriage is no different. For all those against it, just think how you would fee if someone told you that you couldn't fulfill one or your constitutional rights such as voting. It is no different. All people have the right to the pursuit of happiness. If getting hitched is what makes a person happy then constitutionally they have every right to do just that whether it is same sex or not. People need to stop putting their beliefs on others. If you choose to see it as wrong that is your choice, however, that does NOT mean the whole world or country needs to follow your beliefs. Look at all the rights black people fought for as well as all the rights women fought for. Black people were once thought of as ungodly and evil. Women thought of as unintelligent and lowly. What was the ultimate realization? That all men and women are created equal in god's eyes. Gay and lesbian people are no different. For all those who are fighting this tooth and nail I have one thing to say to you. Get over it, its here and its not gonna change because of your ignorance.

One of the biggest problems our country has right now is that many people try to read things into the Constitution that simply aren't there. This is one of those instances. Another problem that people have with gay marriage is that in some states the courts are ruling whether it's legal or not. Most judges are appointed. That is wrong. If a state is going to legalize marriage, then it should be decided by the people of a state, or through their elected representatives. So you can understand a little better why people who are against gay marriage feel like they're being forced to accept something that don't agree with. They haven't been given the opportunity to make the decision in the ballot box.

Maybe if Christians weren't so adamant about shoving their beliefs down everyone's throat then their views might be more tolerated.
So Christians are supposed to readily except deviant behavior as being "normal",but non-believers can't tolerate a strong opposing opinion.Sounds like a double standard to me.
Regardless,I maintain.....if you want to take a deviant practice that has been forbidden by every religion for centuries and make it an excepted lifestyle, than you're going to have to except polygamy. If a guy wants 8 wives and 56 kids,it's none of our business. And why not incestuous marriages?A guy and his goldfish?Who are we to judge?
The fact is morality is not decided by public opinion, but by the Word of God.
-
Are christians supposed to readily tolerate deviant behavior? First off I was raised catholic and if I remember right the bible has a passage that says judge not lest ye be judged. If gay and lesbian marriage is so against god then who on earth is to judge that. Answer: no one. So all the "christians" that are so against it are going against their religion as well as their belief that homosexuals are sinning. Like the one post said you can't force your beliefs of right and wrong on other people. What difference does it make if someone chooses to sleep with the same sex? you are not going to pay for their sins (if it even is one considering there is homosexuality even in the animal kingdom). People should worry more about what is going on behind their own closed doors before the worry about somebody else.

Well said thatchick1980. I personally do not care what people do in their own lives as long as it does not injure me or destroy any of my property. When I was deployed to Kuwait I had to guard some TCN (Third Country Nationals) on the base while they did some work on the base. They were from Nepal and it's customary there to get married at age 11/12. Who's to say one culture is more right than another, or one belief is right over another. What right do people have to impose their beliefs on others? Live and let live. I think if more people focused more on their own lives as opposed to going around and telling others how they should live, we'd all be better off.

I don't believe in same sex marriages but I don't condemn them either. God loves gay people also. So that makes you a hypocrite also, because I am a Christian and I am no fake. God has the only right to condemn a person.
-
I don't really see a problem at all with gay marriage. I mean as the first poster said 'god made women for man so they could create new generations'. We no longer need as many people on the earth anymore. Honestly, I personally think there are too many. That is why China has their law with only allowing to have ONE child per family. There are just so many human beings on the earth and not enough materials to care for them all. Its one reason we have so many people in poverty and have so many third world countries. But he also gave Adam a woman because he wanted him to love as well. Love her and love his god. So, love is love. Why should anyone be punished for loving? :o
-
I think it would be cool if same sex people could get married all over the united states.....Its really not that serious who marries who, Because its really nobody's place to say otherwise

I've posted this before and it's time to post it again....

Only God can judge them!!!!!

Lol love the sign.

I respect the fact that marriage is a personal choice between gays and/or straight people. Let them marry...and...let them divorce if that's the
way it all plays out. From my point of view...the marriage certificate is just a formality anyway.
Later...

I love the sign too.
The legal union of two people who love each other, by marriage or any other name, is quite fine with me. Love is the key. We can use more loving compassion in this world. :peace:
Yes, the bible, a book transcribed and altered my man, says "Judge not lest ye be judged". Christ loved everyone and said "he who is without sin cast the first stone". My problem with many people who call themselves Christian is that they do not act like Christ. Isn't that his whole point? Didn't he set the example? :peace:  :angel11:
