From Oct. 17 to Dec. 16th. Walmart will be offering layaway for toys and electronics 15 dollars and above when the total amount set aside is 50 dollars or more. There will be a non-refundable fee of 5 dollars and 10% deposit on the balance must be made to begin layaway. If the layaway program goes well then Walmart states they will consider making it a long term option. Currently only fine jewelry can make use of layaway at Walmart. Just added the following link to Walmart so you can see the details.

I hope I can get my I-Pad2 using layaway because it will give me three months to pay it off.
-
WOW! Thanks for the info! I was just talking to someone on how Kmart was the only place that still did layaways! Thats great for when money is really tight!
-
I think it would be a good idea, the way things are today. Some people could really use that!
-
cool maybe this will let me be able to get the kids what i want to get them for the hoildays

is a great thing, i've heard a lot of people say that was the only way they could get gifts for their families most years, the layaway. doesnt help us much personally since my husband gets paid once a month, wouldnt do us a lot of good lol. still great though!

Really well thank you for the information, my husband didn't tell me this. I don't know maybe a good idea, I like the electronics part. I wonder how long you have to pay on it though.

This would be nice, Christmas would be better for my family. I need to check this out.
-
That will be so helpfull for christmas shopping.

When did they do that. I have not heard anything about it. You would think they would advertise so more people would know. I was just at wal-mart a week or so ago maybe ever four days ago not sure and they had no signs up or anything. So maybe individual stores get to decide and where I live they all decided not to I don't know but I will check it out.

thanks for the infro i seen that last night on the news but i did not know the months they where going to start them i got to get their and get me a layway started this year. yeah for walmarts i know everyone would be happy for that...

yay!!!!! they should bring it all back. lay away is nice
-
I hope you are right? How do I find out if this true? I am on my way to Walmart. If this is true I am very happy about this, I truly miss layaway at Walmart.
-
I think they will generate more business by doing that. My sister used to work there and said TONS of people used to do layaway. And I think it makes a lot of sense to limit it to toys and electroncs. We don't really have Kmart here, but they never did get rid of layaway.

not to be a negative nancy, but :angel12:
the lines for the walmart customer service
department can get pretty hairy around the
holidays! hopefully they'll figure out an effective
way to make it seem less like hearding cattle.
but, good for walmart listening to their customers.
i'm sure this has been requested by many!
