I would suggest putting the liquids she does not prefer into the bottle and the ones she does in a sippy cup. Also there are some sippy cups that have the 'mouthpieces' that are soft and rubbery like a nipple. You could also start by putting 'treats' in the sippy cup, like milkshake or a smoothie.

I went through troubles with this with my son for months. He just wouldn't go to bed at night or ride in the car without his bottle. He wouldn't even drink from a sippy cup until he was almost 18 months old. I gradually started getting him to use a sippy cup during the day, but bedtime was just awful. I knew someone that tried a trick and their little girl stopped using her bottle cold turkey around 19th months. I had tried everything and more so I decided to give it a shot. One day we were riding in the car and he got mad at me and threw his bottle at me. I turned around and told him that it wasn't nice to throw things at mommy and he broke his bottle. When we got home and he asked for his bubba, I said remember you broke your bottle in the car when you threw it at mommy. I gave him a cup and it took a little while, but he started drinking from one. Every time I gave him his cup, he would say "bubba broken mommy?" I'd say yep brayden you broke it but you have your cup. The first night was a little hard, but not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. He just had a drink from his cup and fell asleep. When he wakes up at night he'll have a couple sips but that's about it. He was 19 months at the time. He is now 2. I praised him so much for being a big boy and using his sippy cup. It was even harder because I have a 5 month old who uses a bottle, but it didn't bother him much because they used different bottles and he knew which ones were his and which were his brothers. I would highly recommend NUK sippy cups. They are amazing. The ones I get have the two handles on the sides and the rubber top. His are yellow and blue with animals on them. They have them right at walmart. They are a little expensive (i think $7 or $8 for the 2 pack) but it is so worth it and they last forever. He was always breaking his and chewing the tops off. I could never find one that he could drink good and didn't leak, but these do both perfectly. I think you just have to tell the child something that they will understand, some sort of reason why they can't have their bottle and it will be a lot easier for them. Rewarding them in different ways helps a lot too. I hope this helps some and good luck!:)

Try zippy cups and see what happens!

As long as there's only water in the bedtime bottle, what's the harm? Otherwise babies will start sucking their thumb instead which makes a scar on the thumb and really pushes the teeth out of alignment. When the doc asks, just say your baby is on the cup so you don't get 'the lecture" (father of a daughter who needed to suck a bottle at night until almost four and daughter is now 24 with perfect teeth and no bad habits like thumb sucking or cigarette sucking!)

I have no idea how my little guy is going to do. He turns 1 the 29th. He is starting to refuse his bottle which is AWESOME, but on the other hand won't drink anything out of a sippy cup unless it's water. He gags on formula when it's in a cup, but LOVES water. I'm afraid he's not going to drink Milk out of a sippy cup. But we will see. Has your daughter tried decreasing the amount of liquid in the bottle?

No! Shes most of the problem ,Everytime we start discussing breaking the baby she packs baby bottle and goes and stays with my mom couple of days.We even paid for all the cups ,so she wouldnt have to. I Guess this is one of those situations I`m only Grandmom its her child .Did Tell Her she needs to consider it seriously before baby bites nipple in half during the night and chokes!
