Do you think it will get a lot more referrals if I start a website or what other methods can I use to get referrals.

What I do to get referrals is I post my links on FaceBook and Twitter and now on Google Plus. In addition to that you could sign up with different social networks, make friends and invite them to join your other site. But what you should do is write a small synopsis about that site you use and explain it to a point. Do not make it sound like an advertisement.

But facebook doesn't let you post links last time I try to post a link it didn't let me. What about youtube have you try youtube to get referrals and has it worked for you.

If you write blogs, you could post them in a blog also. I haven't tried it yet, but that is where I found my referral for this site.

That's a myth perpetrated by the Gurus who want to sell you traffic courses. My blog only gets about 600 people a month, but I have over 800 referrals and a lot of them come from my blog. What counts most is the quality of visitors you get, not how many there are.

That's a myth perpetrated by the Gurus who want to sell you traffic courses. My blog only gets about 600 people a month, but I have over 800 referrals and a lot of them come from my blog. What counts most is the quality of visitors you get, not how many there are.
We have several blogs, and we have links on all of them. I sometimes post a copy of my payment from pay pal as a blog post just to show that I AM getting paid from this.
I can post a link on Facebook, although every now and then I have to do a stupid CAPTCHA just to post on my own page. I don't post FC links on anyone else's profiles.
I did get an IM from FB of someone wanting to borrow money from me, and being a stranger, I suggested FC and affiliate programs to make money online. That was my second referral, btw.

I didn't mean a number in the thousands or higher, it appears I wasn't clear when I typed that. I consider 600 people a month as a lot of traffic, and it is much better than maybe 30 people or less.

Getting to 600 is easy if you get listed on Google, like I did for "US Click Ads". Write a few posts that expand on your agenda without selling too hard, then submit them to SocialMonkee.com for free. Then do a few YouTube videos and link them back to your blog. That's all it takes.

Just creating a site can help. I haven't done much with my blog and yet I've still gotten a few people to sign up using my referral links posted there. Just tell the truth and you'd be amazed. Obviously I haven't done as well as some of the others here, you can still achieve something.
