Title: Occupy Wall Street
Post by: johnnyptech on October 10, 2011, 10:43:44 am
I am interested in finding out what others think of the OWS movement. In my opinion, it is just a small movement that probably will not result in much. I have noticed, however, that those who support it are the more liberal of society. Conservatives do not seem to be supportive at all. Another thing I have noticed is that the OWS supporters get the majority of their news from sources like youtube and social networks while the more conservative rely heavily on the Television. What do you think?

I am truly sorry for what I see happening in our country. I don't think we're too far from what's happeni9ng in the middle east with all their unrest. And , I thnik the young people attacking Wall Street don't understand that they are attacking one of the sources for the jobs they want created.

I have been saying it for years. It is greed that is destroying the country.  Pure and simple greed and this every man for themselves attitude.  Something is wrong when CEO's are making 500X the salary of their average employees.  I understand CEO's should get paid a lot of money but come on.  Can they have a little compassion for the people who slave to make them rich?

I see it with my own company.  They are cutting benefits for their employees left and right but they are getting richer and richer?  Seriously if you are making $10 million a year can you do without a new million dollar vacation home and instead help some of your employees out with a cost of living raise?  Do you really need another three million dollar bonus when you are laying off people?

This is an interesting topic. I hope more people reply to this. I haven't been following it due to sick kids and a new baby in the house. It will be interesting to see what people think and write since I don't really know when or how it all got started.

Well I see nothing wrong with the protesting. After all, they are protesting the the one thing that got us into this financial mess in the first place. The Banks. One of you posted that this country is full of greed, I agree, I totally agree. Something has to give or we are all going to be in a heap of trouble. I know they all want to blame Obama, but he inherited this disaster. We are in the shape today because of what was started many ears ago. I say it started right after Kennedy, with Nixon. Now we are all paying the price for what they did then. I do not see things getting better and I highly doubt that if a republican gets in that it will be any different.
