I do a lot of reading, and this is the first time this has happened. I am in the middle of a book, when suddenly the print changes and it is a new completely different book for about 75 pages, then goes back to my original book. The 75 pages of my book were lost. I did miss out on a few things that were in those 75 pages, but, fortunately, the rest of the book made sense.

May I ask the name of the book you are reading? :)

I've never seen what you're describing, but I have noticed the quality of editing has really decreased over the past few years. It seems like almost every book I get from the library or in Kindle has some glaring spelling or grammar error. There was one I was reading last week that had a courtroom scene, and it was really irritating to see this:
"The defense rests, You're Honor"

It sounds like a computer or printer error. Perhaps someone that was editing cut and paste in the wrong place. Do they still have proof readers in these days of spell check?

The book is Remote Control by Stephen White. Fifty pages missing.
I have also noticed that there are spelling errors or other errors in a few books. I also wonder what happened to the editing.

What is it about "your" and "you're" these days? So many people write 'your' welcome when it should be 'you're' welcome. I have nothing against texting except it seems like that may have something to do with the reason many people can no longer spell correctly. And DON'T get me started on the state of the educational system!!

I don't read a whole lot of books but I have never seen that or heard of it. I think that would bother me a lot if I was reading a book and that happened. It seems to me that it was most likely a mistake.

Hmmm... I once read a book where a whole paragraph was basically the same sentence over and over again. It was kind of funny :D
