If you did not finacially need to work would you still work? Just wondering because there are some people who actually like working
-
I would still work but it would be in a different field. Something I would enjoy a lot more. It wouldn't be hard to get a job you really like if you don't need to get paid much to do it. Whether we can admit it or not, I think we would all be bored out of our mind if we didn't work at all.
-
I would still work because I would go crazy just sitting around bored all day.
-
Yes, I would probably find a job that I truly loved and would not have to worry about the pay. I would like to take a nice long break before I started though. A long vacation is quite overdue for me right now.
-
I would stay home if I could financially afford not to work but only if I could really afford it.
-
HELLLLLLLLL NOOOOO!!!!
-
I stay at home with the kids..I like it, but yes sometimes I go completely nuts.. I do a few at home businesses and those get me out though..
-
I would stay home! Yes I like to work, but I would love to be able to stay home with my son! I can find plenty of things to do around the house and on the internet to keep my occupied when i was not having to care for my son so YES STAY AT HOME!
-
Nope. I like sitting around on the house. I also run a lot so I would probably waste time doing that.
-
I would read, do art, garden, cook, sew, learn a new language....so many things I can't possibly list them all. In addition, I would also go to the beach, the mountains, art galleries and museums.
-
Define work..... LOL
I stayed at home with my son for awhile when he was a baby and while I like to stay home with him (I still do the majority of the time) I have found that I need the challenge that work offers to relax my mind and keep me happy. I'm actually going to school to work from home so I will have the best of both worlds.
-
Of course! :) I’d be too bored in the long run with nothing to do because I need to feel I am contributing to society. I’d volunteer at the library or at any humanitarian organization that are short on help. I also like to stay home for a day 3 days a week to relax too, but not too long. Servitude to the world is very fulfilling when I’m ready to work after a good long rest.
-
Hahaha... then NO!!!
-
No, I don't think I would unless it was part-time somewhere other than where I work now.
-
I would volunteer somewhere I enjoy if I didn't have to worry about money
-
If I had a choice, I wouldn't work at a job I dislike. In order for society to keep prospering, someone's gotta be making something, somewhere, otherwise we'd all be lazy bums just laid out on the street somewhere. Oh yeah, we already do that ::) (Planking).
-
i do like making my own money and spending it on whatever. personally i am better at saving that my other half. but it would be nice to be able to stay home with my daughter all day. but his checks got cut and we cant live off it anymore.
so yes i would stop working if we could afford it.
-
i think about this question a lot....I'm lucky to enjoy my work, though my commute is long (to save costs)...I don't own a car either which helps....I would definitely still work but I would take some time to travel and think about what I would want to do with my time...so yes/no (to answer the question)...I don't think I couldn't work...it would just take on a whole new meaning....
-
I usually do not mind not working. Of course if I could have my dream job, I would work, but right now I am perfectly content to not have a job. I keep very busy taking care of things at home, so when I do have a job its just stressful and frustrating trying to keep up with everything.
-
If I had the choice, I would not work.

I love my job and I don't think of it as work. Work carries a repulsive stigma for some people and I enjoy everything about my life. I get paid to play around on my computer and I like taking care of my home. It's all good.
-
I would always want to work. I think working makes a person feel useful and connects people to what is important in life. I also feel that it is an important part of how we socialize with each other in some sort of meaningful way. If people didn't work we would all be wandering aimlessly through life with little or no meaning to our existence. So work is a good thing.

i havent had a technically "real job" since 1998, i quit mine to take care of my dad who passed away that year with cancer...after that, i ended up staying to take care of my mother and then nursing a brother who passed away last year with cancer. i've always wanted to get back to working, but seems there's always someone that needs me more, and it just hasnt happened. now, i keep my nephews 4 yr old while he works, which lets me stay at home with mom who is 75. i would never give up the little boy i watch to do it, but would love to be able to get back out to the working field someday soon though :)
-
If I didn't need to work, I would still work, but just cater things toward my dream careers and take more chances doing what I want to do, though I think I would take a year off and travel a lot first.
-
When I was working thats what I always thought. If I didn't have to work, would I. My answer usually was NO. Well I don't have a choice now, as I am disabled and cannot work. After working for 40yrs+, I have days where I don't know what to do. Wish I was able to work again, but I can't so I just try to keep busy the best way I can.
-
If I had the choice to not work I definitely wouldn't do it. I would rather own my own businesses and travel or just do exciting and interesting things every other day.
-
Staying at home is not what it is cracked up to be. There is just so much you can do then the boredom sets in. If I did not need the income I would volunteer a few times a week to be around others and get out of the house.
-
I took an early retirement and have never regretted it. I love not having to go to work. I aminterested in a lot of things, so I am never bored.
-
even if i was rich i would still work
-
The only work I want to do is to work from home and having a home business that I like and having fun and making an income.
-
Of course, there is so much in this world you can put your energy towards other than labor that essentially someone else doesn't want to do.
-
I do not work outside of the home, but don't feel like my work is ever done. I have 3 boys and there just isn't enough time in the day to get everything done. I don't know how working moms get it all in! Raising children is the hardest but most rewarding job for me. I do wish I had more time to be more creative and make things to sell That would help get some of the "me" time in:heart:
-
Although the thought of not working sounds great, i believe after not very long i would become too bored and would want to work just so i can do sometime somewhat productive
-
I would still work, but the kind of work I really enjoyed doing. I would be bored if I did nothing. :)
-
I would spend my time working on my art and selling it more. It seems that after I work all day I am to tired to be creative. I love painting and love to teach others how to paint so maybe I would give private lessons.
-
well i like working when i like the job but if i could buy and sell everyday then i wouldnt work.
-
Two words....HELL YEAH!!
-
I think I would enjoy volunteering. You can set your own schedule and are giving back to the community. There is no requirement of how long you have to stay at the place. You can get exposure/experience in MANY different areas.
I have a nearly endless list of activities I would like to investigate.
-
Nope, since idle hands are the devil's workshop. :angel11:
-
If I had the choice to not work I would still continue to work albeit in a different capacity doing something that I like to do, naming my own hours, and taking more and frequent vacation breaks. I would definately devote more time to my health, I would probably go back to school so that I could contribute more on a daily basis as well as set a positive role model/image for my children and peers. I think that idle time is dangerous and brings a person closer to death.
-
I would have to do something. Volunteer or maybe write a book. I couldn't sit idle.
-
I would stay home, but volunteer somewhere where I could set my hours and have a schedule. I do better when I know I have to be somewhere instead of knowing I can put things off.
-

Actually I do have that chance (disability)and I would love to go back to work if I could without experiencing tremendous pain :(
-
i would definitly not work, its hard to imagine that people would want to work because they are bored, which means they dont have anything else in there life.
-
It depends if i was working in a field i didnt not care for then most likely no i wouldnt work i found something else to do with my time & put my money into work for me, maybe with creating jobs for others... If i was in a field that i did enjoy then yes cause if your doing work that you love then it aint working ( so they say).. But i would still use my money to expand in mayb that field of study to help get more workers or expand the business, or maybe even start my own company in that field as well & partner up with the current company i worked for!!!
-
I don't care how much money I'd have, I would need to work in order to be and feel productive.
-
WEl, I'm disabled but wish I could work again. I get bored sometimes. I think about my job I had at times. I liked it lot. It was rewarding. I was happy. If I didnt HAVE to work, I would choose to still work if I could.
