Title: Consolidating Debt
Post by: linnbast1985 on October 31, 2011, 04:13:57 am
We are trying to consolidate our debt but are having a hard time getting approved. Does anyone know of any programs for this that actually work?

I just joined this debt consolidation program called "Money Managment Int'l" this past month. The process was easy, simple interview, still waiting on them to take out my first payment so we'll how it goes. I have found the route of calling the credit card companies to reduce the interest did not work at all.

I know what you mean about calling the credit card companies. All the ones that I called gave me numbers for programs then told me that it would apply to all the debt that I had EXCEPT that specific company. They also wanted all of our account information so that they could do automatic payments which we had done with a company before to try to settle our debt only to have them withdraw three monthly payments in one week, overdraw our account and cause nearly $2000 in overdraft fees.

Ouch!, That is exactly what I'm worried about with this program, so as soon as they take out my first payment I will be monitoring all of my accounts and statements to make sure everything is going smooth.
