TV veteran Andy Rooney died Saturday following surgical complications. Rooney died just five weeks after his departure from, "60 Minutes." He was 92 years old. Rest in peace, Mr. Rooney. You will be missed. :angel11:

Amen to that

I wonder if he knew he was going to die soon and if that lead to his retirement.

OMG, he just retired! How sad he's suppose be living out the rest of his life in retirement. Like my hubby (RIP) He worked til the end. Each time I see, someone die that I grew up watching, I feel little by little my childhood memories being erased because they've always been there even when I wasn't really paying any attention, it was a comfort. So, many have already gone: Fara Fawset,Steve Jobs, John Ritter, Michael Jackson,Patrick Swazye,John Lennon,Peter Falk Clarence Clemens,Laura Ziskin,Lenord Stern,James Arness,Clarice Taylor,Jeff Conaway,DJ Megatron,Liz Taylor,Farley Grander,Nate Dogg,Michael Gough,Hugh Martin,Joe Morello,Corey Haim,Jane Russell,John Strauss,Len Lesser,John Dye, Gladys Horton,Heath Ledger,Anne Francis,Teena Marie,Elizabeth Edwards,Leslie Nielsen,James MacArthur,Lisa Blount, Tom Bosley,Tony Curtis,Gloria Stuart,Eddie Fisher,Gary Coleman,David Carradine,Dennis Hopper,Rue MacClanaha,
Ronnie James Dio,Doris Eaton Travis,Lena Horne,Lynn Redgrave,Helen Wagner,Bea Arthur,Dixie Carter,Christopher Reeve,June Havoc,Robert Clup, :star: I better stop there's just so many & I'm getting depressed.There are some that I've just learned had die whom I thought was still alive. Sad..... :crybaby2:

I was very saddened to see that Andy Rooney had passed away.
I guess at 92 he had lived a good life and it was just his time to go.
His humor will be missed ... he was a classic.

Andy was a role model for me and I hope I can continue as long as he did.

His TV spot on 60 Minutes was a highlight.
I enjoyed all his comments.
I wonder if they will be put on DVD or recorded.

When I first heard he died, I thought it was from natural causes (he's 92) but then I learned that it was from complications of surgery (if I'm not mistaken) which makes it sad cause he just retired too and possibly could have lived to be in his hundreds. R.I.P :angel11:

Sunday night was always Andy Rooney night for me--for more years than I care to count.
How sad that he passed away so shortly after retiring--and the day before his Giants beat the Patriots. He would have loved that.
I have read most of his books and they are treasures--they read just like he spoke. Treat yourself and read one in his memory.
RIP you old crumudgan. OLD BUDDY-- You're close, keep trying!
