we have a fake tree because of my allergies but i do love real trees just cant have them
-
When I was younger I loved to get real or even living trees. Now it's too much hassle, kids grown and just my wife and I. I do whatever she insists on. She still loves to decorate for xmas, and she's good at it.
-
Still getting the fresh tree for me. Just can't get used to those fake trees in the stores - just doesn't feel like a Christmas tree to me unless I'm scrubbing sap from my hands and arms for a week. ;D
I know my parents went the fake tree route several years ago and spray the tree with the "spruce" scent - but that doesn't come close to the real thing to me. Plus I found having the real tree increases the humidity in my house which is fantastic because it gets so dry with the heat running in winter.
-
We used to always do the live tree, now that the kids are gone, I prefer to do the artificial tree, they look so real now and with the scented candles you think it is real, but not the mess of a real tree.
-
Ive always use artifical trees.
-
It's just me and I don't stay home for Christmas so I don't put up a tree anymore, I just put decorations around the house.
-
I grew up using fake trees and still do that now. I would like to try having a real one at some point, though.
-
We've always had the same artificial tree. I like artificial trees, they come in different colors. I like those little pink ones and my Peanuts tree.
-
artificial. we never had a real tree growing up,
so i've never even experienced one. i love putting
up the tree to old christmas music ;D
-
Don't really do Christmas in my house because my ex gets my daughter. But we have a small fake tree that we put up in November. It's easy and leave the lights on, so little set up/take down.
-
Done it both ways over the years. Probably going with artificial again this year.

Same here.... :(

I don't have a Christmas tree at my house because I don't have the room. However, I always go to my parents house for the holidays and we have always had live Christmas trees.
My father's favorite holiday was Christmas. He loved decorating the tree and smell of fresh balsam and pine

We have a very nice artificial tree.
When the kids were little we went to the tree farm and chopped down our own tree. That was fun!
-
We did the same thing. When the kids were little, we got a real tree. Now we have a fiber optic tree that is neat. When I was a kid, it was always an artifical tree, always wanted the real thing.
-
We have both....we chop down a tree and we have a small artificial one that we put up too for the window.

I am the same way. :( But I do love a blue spruce. There are allot of christmas trees in my yard though lol ! I love to see them covered in snow !

I use an artificial tree. I have used one for many years. I have a 9 foot pre lit tree that I am looking to get rid of because I bought a smaller one.
-

I do the artifial tree. I like the real tree, but just cannot stand on the clean up afterwards and besides, as long as the tree is pretty and smells good that's what it's about. :)
-
I sure did enjoy the real pine Christmas trees when I was a child. The smell of pine trees up north is awesome! Now I'm down to a 4 foot artificial one. I would like to get a white artificial one because my ornaments show up better than on the dark green one. :angel11:

I usually get a real live tree for Christmas, looks way better!
-
I love the great smell real the Christmas tree.
-
Every Christmas, since I've been in NY with my family for the past years, they always purchase artificial trees.
-
I get both. i like the real ones because of the smell. but i like fakes trees because they last longer

My family always gets a live tree every year. It's kinda like a tradition. I guess it's the fun in it. Going out and picking the best looking tree we can. Growing up I had 1 brother and 1 sister and I'm the middle child. I can remember arguing about which tree to get. We would all 3 have to agree on 1 tree to get before my parents would get. One year all 5 of us, my dad, mom, brother, sister, and me all went and chopped down a tree ourselves. I was about 10 years old and I can remember how cool I thought it was that we had a tree from the mountains in our living room. Great memories.
-
I use a fake tree. I cannot justify to myself the cost of getting a real tree every year.
Additionally I have cats and the needles can be toxic to them.
Other pros include not having to get the tree home, get it in the house and get it out of the house afterwards.
Personally I find it sad to watch the tree slowly die over the holidays.

I use a fake, pre lit tree.
Growing up we always had real trees.
I remember what a pain it was once I was older, but as a kid, it was great!
-
one year we had a live tree, and no of us really liked it!!! so we went back to using are artifial tree for christmas
-
we use an artificial one. i see no reason to kill a tree each year just so i can decorate it. we have a small blue tree that is really pretty when lit up.
-
My family has always used an artificial tree because it's cleaner and you don't have to buy a new one every year. It was a very nice tree and we all enjoyed it :)
Go green!
-
when are kid were little we went out and cut one life they all in joyed going out and cutting it them for are family.but now that they have all have family of there one we just got a little one for us.
-
If you can find a nice artificial one then they can be nice but nothing comes close to a real tree. It's even better to get one with the roots so you can plant it when Christmas is over and not waste the tree.
-
I like real trees and my father and mother and siblings used to go out in the woods and cut down a tree every year when I was young but I have allergies and my husband is disabled and has breathing problems so we have a fake tree and things are such that we don't even get that put up every year so............................... I guess it doesn't much matter, too hard for us to deal with so unless grown sons do to please me, it doesn't get done. But I love the whole spirit and idea of Christmas, not a bah humbug just have physical problems.
-
I usually have a fake tree just because it is more convenient.
The last few years I opted not to put up a tree at all. No one really sees it
but me and my boyfriend and I have two kittens and a puppy that have just
turned 2 years old.
Not into the puppy eating the ornaments and knocking it down. He is a bull in a china shop.

I live in Oregon and it's the real deal every year. My wife would never have it any other way. We go cut our own from an old guy in his 90's and wouldn't miss that annual visit for anything, although he's getting to the point we wonder if he will be there each year. As long as he is, he will have at least one customer in us.
-
I get a fake one so i can reuse it
-
Artificial tree... I grew up with always having one, so that's just what I do too.
-
I prefer a live tree over a fake tree. When I was growing up my father and I had a tradition that we always did for christmas every year. We would go out and hunt for the perfect tree to cut down and bring back home to be decorated. After we would get the tree we sought after, we we look for possible candidates for the following year. It was a tradition that he and I still try to do each year even though we are seperated by miles. However, I have continued the tradition with my children. It was also some good memories of parent child time. Plus, I love the smell of fresh trees rather than the fake one.

Don't get me wrong i love the real thing but i perfer the artifial tree better it saves me money in the long run i have had my same fake tree for 14yrs lol the same age as my oldest son why pay more when you can save.
