I LOVE eggnog, but know many people do not. Where do you stand on this yummy beverage?
-
i have it every year for christmas new years and thanksgiving i also put a little bit of rum in it and drink it as a slushie it is so good and if you want you can put a little bit of cinnamon on top or whipped cream
so yes i love it also
-
No thank you! Blech!
-
Uggghhh. None for me thank you. I could be wrong, but it looks like it is dying out with the new generations, so I wonder if it will be around at all in about fifty years.
-
I am one of those people who like eggnog a lot!!! sprinkle a little nuttmeg on top and enjoy the holiday season
-
I LOVE eggnog! Especially laced with a little rum! :P
-
I love3 eggnog, but it is too rich and thick. I think I will not drink it this year. As you get older some things are not good to keep drinking. ;D
-
When I was a child, I loved eggnog. As I got older, I started liking it less and less. Now I can hardly drink more than a few swallows of it before I say "enough". My fiance loves it though.

I love eggnog, although usually the nog they sell in the stores is too sugary and sweet for me. I remember my mom would sometimes make eggnog for us kids when we were growing up; milk, eggs, vanilla extract, nutmeg (and some other spices?), and a little honey to sweeten it up just a bit. Yum!
For a Thanksgiving get-together with a bunch of friends, I made some pudding shots, one of them (unfortunately) was an eggnog pudding shot. Originally I had purchased an "eggnog" flavored liqueur and had planned to use that with actual eggnog and vanilla pudding, but I tried the liqueur before making the batch and found that it tasted absolutely disgusting. It almost tasted like an Irish Cream with eggnog flavoring, so there was a hint of mint along with the eggnog taste. Yuck! So I ended up just using rum and a little UV Cake (white cake flavored vodka) as the alcohol. But those along with the vanilla pudding tended to mask the taste of the eggnog, so it didn't turn out nearly as well as my pumpkin pie pudding shots. Oh well, live and learn.

No, thank you, I'll pass. Can't stomach milk much less eggnog without gagging.
-
Soy nog please! ;D
-
Love it when it is cool outside. Otherwise I tend not to drink it.
-

-
I have never had eggnog before...because I don't care too much for it; but some people enjoy it!
-
Eggnog is one of the "once a year" treats at our house. My husband and I like it, but the kids do not.
-
I drink it from time to time.
-
eh its okay
-
I am with you on this yummy beverage! I love eggnog but not with rum in it. I like rum flavoring. I don't drink alcohol. I concede that eggnog is yummy yummy yummy! :star: :star: :star:
-
I love eggnog too. I really am glad when I can buy it at the store.
-
I love eggnog at this time of year. I like mine with brandy and some nutmeg sprinkled on top. I also like a hot Tom and Jerry. Same basic stuff but served warm.
-
I know many people love eggnog, particularly around this time of year but I find it gross. It does not appeal to me at all although I haven't tried it in several years.
-
I all for it.do u know haw to make it?

I just buy pre-made store brand. No idea how to actually make it.
-
I think the name throws people off. I am a Chef and I would never call anything egg nog.
Then again I would never call anything Twinkie Either. Hah :o
-
I have never cared to eggnog myself, although I drank quite a bit of it when it was spiked with rum or southern comfort.
-
I love egg nog.
-
Just the IDEA of eggnog makes my stomach turn... YUCK. Sorry everyone who loves it! :P
-

Don't scare me like that!! a world without the nog??? never!

Now there's a combination... twinkies and eggnog :)

I love eggnog but just can't afford it. I remember when you could buy it for .99cents, now you have to pay over $4 bucks for a gallon., I am currently unemployed and my husband SSi barely's covers the houshold bills so that is something I have to do without. but I would sure love a small cup
-
I always buy eggnog for Christmas. It is a tradition in my family. I like it and so does everyone here does too. I have never tried to my it myself but would like to try it. My mother made boiled custerd and it was great. Maybe I will try to make it too.
-
A real Christmas favorite at my house! Give it the kids when they were small. Now that they've grown up they still love it! A great way to get your calcium too, yum, yum:-)
-
Loveit too. In fact I can go for one right about now as soon as I finish type this. It's like one of my favorite thing to drink, and thanks for reminding me lol.
-
It's good, but I tend to avoid it because, from what I've heard, it's pretty horrible for you.
-
I agree. It is a once a year treat during the holidays. I've never been big on putting rum in my Egg Nog. I like it just as it is with a little Nutmeg on top. Any left over egg nog I use to make Christmas morning French Toast. Happy Holidays Everyone!
-
I love eggnog.Have got to go buy some.

Here is Emril's recipe: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/emeril-lagasse/emerils-eggnog-recipe2/index.html (http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/emeril-lagasse/emerils-eggnog-recipe2/index.html)
It's similar to what I remember my mom making. However growing up she'd toss the entire egg into a blender along with the milk (but again 2%, not whole), nutmeg, vanilla, and honey (again, not sugar as in the above recipe). I think using the separated eggs, etc. makes the nog look more silky... When my mom would pour hers, there tended to be a lot of larger air bubbles. And of course since she was serving it to us kids, no alcohol.
Speaking of alcohol, I always thought that rum was the favored alcohol for eggnog, but as I was browsing the Food Network site, I saw that most all recipes called for bourbon, and some for brandy, but none for rum... I guess the other two have a sweeter flavor and may lend more of a spice-flavor to it as well.
-
i could never stand the taste...yuk :sad1: fruit cake is horrible too
-
I hate eggnog. It's like drinking raw eggs and I don't like the taste.
-
ABSOLUTELY! Are you offering? lol..I love eggnog, I once put captain morgan coconut rum in it and it was delicious! ;D
-
never did like the taste rather have hot chocolate.
-
I love egg nog but it is hard to find it in non dairy . only certain stores carry it this time of year.
-
I think eggnog is revolting. I will never EVER drink it or anything mixed with it. Gross. Of course I don't drink milk or thick drinks at all.
-
I love eggnog just recently tried an eggnog smoothy so good :)
-
Have tried it a few times. Don't care for it very much and my family doesn't buy it for the holidays.
-
I really enjoy eggnog and as a matter of fact...you just reminded me to put it on my grocery list!!!! Thanks!!
-

Yummmmm
-
I love it! I normally would make a few batches during the holiday but did not make this holiday season for the first time in 6 years. The guy's I would normally drink with are no longer around...sniff sniff.
-
Mmm, I love it. This year I thought it caused a bad belly ache, but later discovered it was just nerves and got to enjoy the rest of it later in the week. ;D
-
I only like the soymilk versions from SILK, they have original and chocolate mint and I wish the store had them available year round (mostly because I was working so much last year that I didn't get a chance to go to the one store in our area that carries it until it was all sold out for the holidays. :sad1: but the original is also good when making french toast and both are good when added to coffee or hot chocolate!!)
-
I like it but I am happy that it is just a once a year drink as I don't think I would drink it all year round. I also like to make french toast with it. yummy. =)
-
I think eggnog is great, but only crave just a little around the holidays. I must be conditioned for it :D
