Title: Scent of candles
Post by: koolcraftlady on December 11, 2011, 05:09:43 am
What scent of candles do you prefer?   I enjoy Lilac, Lavendar, Ocean Breeze, Fresh Rain.  I really do not enjoy the scent of vanilla or cinnamon,  They are usually too strong.

Lilac sounds lovely. It is a perfectly delicious scent. I find it intoxicating and now that I have thought about it. I want one or perhaps two of them. Thanks a lot Lady! I'm on a budget! That's okay I'll BUY AMERICAN and help the economy. Well I have to go before the stores close. Ta Ta! :) :) :)

I bought a candle that was called Fresh Cut Grass, loved it!!  I also am a huge fan of smells that reminds you of fall time, pumpkins, spices etc...I can not handle smells that are sweet, perfumey smells.  I did just buy some for Christmas gifts and they were called Mint Truffle, smelled good enough to eat!!  LOL...

i'm a fan of the bakery smells (vanilla, chocolate, muffins)
for the kitchen/living room. i like to keep something fruity
like mango or pineapple in the bathroom.

i don't care for the outdoorsy or musky ones, like pine,
or apple cinnamon. they give me a headache.

I'm very sensitive to scents.  I prefer candles and incense to those artificial plug in things.  (I've read that artificial scents contribute to altzeimer's.)  A good diffuser with natural essential oils would be the best, but I don't own one.

My favorite scents include jasmine, peach, pumpkin pie/spice and cinnamon.   I can't stand rose, pine, sandalwood and other sharp sharp or heavy scents.  :P

You are giving me ideas.  I was looking at candles the other day but didn't buy any; I bought potpourri instead.  I think I'll check out the lilac!  For Christmas, I love to stick cloves in oranges - divine!

Definitely cinnamon and vanilla. Fresh linen is nice, mango, sugar cookies, etc., well there are so many. I don't like the floral smells....just remind me of a funeral home.

I love candles.  It just depends on the season as to which scent I burn.  This is always a good time of year for the yummy smelling ones that make me think of baking cookies.

I tend to pick the scents that fit the season... During the winter, I like the sweeter scents, like vanilla or cinnamon, but in the summer I rather like fruity scents (something tropical or lemony / orangey). Spring is for flowery scents (lilacs and fresh rain), while autumn is for woodsy scents (pine and jasmine).

I love soy vanilla candles, so maybe you need to make sure it's made from actual vanilla (not artificial). Otherwise, I like anything light, like honeysuckle or pumpkin spice.

You're not kidding. I could never work in a shop with candles like that, because I'd be hungry all the time! LOL

Oooohhhh I just love scented candles! But I don't like the ones that don't smell good to me, are TOO strong, aren't strong enough, or don't smell the same when you burn them/use candle warmer. I really like the Febreeze pine scented candle. I love the smell of pine trees! I miss having the real thing.  :'(

I like any scent that makes me think of something wonderful, and it ignites the senses.  I make scented candles and I mix the scents to get that special scent that appeals to me.

I don't want any scent to come from my candles.  For me, candles are there to get rid of unwanted scents, not to provide more unwanted scents.  I realize I am probably in the minority on this, so that's just me.

I enjoy lots of the scents.  I prefer not to have the food ones though as they would make me hungry.  I just got about eight new ones for my birthday.  Daughter #1 has a friend who makes her own candles and she occasionally makes some with her.  They haunt Good Will and Salvation Army stores for cute glasses for the melted wax.  They color and scent them.  Her friend got a glass etching kit for Christmas so she  brought over a big box of candles for us.  Wanted to cut down on her inventory before starting new ones.

I like outdoor scents, but Apple Pie works for me in a pinch.
