Boring stuff, like a new vacuum cleaner, comforter set and maybe some shoes.  I know there is stuff I need, but when someone asks me for my list I always draw a blank.

My wish this year was to get a share of Green Bay Packer Stock! My hubby came through and it is suppose to be delivered on Monday! He said he was gonna put it under the tree and I said no, I want to frame it and hang it up right away!!

Of course, my other wish is for all my family to have a safe and happy holiday season.

I'm getting cash like usual. I never really like making a holiday wish list. I find it a lot easier and cheaper just to buy whatever I'd like at the best price I can. All I really need to make me happy is a big holiday dinner.

I'd love to see less materialism in our country.  That's really my wish.  That, and the hope that we can stay out of Iran and have true peace!   :peace:

For my sister to respect/be nice to the mom!  Also, for those to give more than they receive : )  I hate ever asking for anything.  It truly feels better seeing someones face light up when you give them something (whether that be affection or a material item)!

I pretty much told everyone that gift cards for Amazon would do! I have a Kindle and read A LOT, plus you can buy so many great items there too! It would help cover a lot of expenses for me!

to not have ex wife support

lol, as long as it is not child support, I can laugh at that one.

I would like a few days to do nothing but rest.  I feel like I am in the middle of a mental melt down because of all the pressures my mom always puts on us to have the perfect Christmas.  I more or less prefer to do what I can and enjoy the time of year, but she always ruins it be making it about being perfect.  It drives me nuts.

When I was still married, we had that issue with my (ex) sister-in-law.  My ex-husband's parents had passed on several years before I met him, and she sort of took over being the matriarch of their family.  She made us all insane because everything was about perfection and spending a LOT of money (not just on gifts, but on "theme Christmas trees" and decorating her house perfectly etc.) - and she expected all of us to do the same, since we had our gatherings at each separate house on separate days.  It was maddening.  I finally had enough of it and sat down with her one day well before Christmas, and explained that (a) we simply did not have the money to spend on all the frivolous things like decorating, and (b) Christmas is really about something other than materialism.  I also told her I was disgusted by her daughter's attitude toward the gifts we had given her the year before (she was in her mid-teens at the time, and made a face after unwrapping each gift.  Didn't even say thank-you).

Would it help to sit down and have a talk with your Mom?  Maybe she doesn't realize that she's causing you stress at a time of year when everyone should be enjoying the festivities, not feeling pressured.  Maybe she feels stressed herself but can't admit it.  If she's not willing to listen or bend a little, then remove yourself from the situation for one year.  Just explain why, and next year maybe things will be different.  If not, there's always Easter! LOL   Good luck.   :peace:
