Title: College Applications

Dear Fusioncash members,

My stepsister is a high school senior.  She is in the middle of applying to colleges right now.  Please share your college application experiences with us. Thank you!

I applied to a "New Ivy" school which was one of the top 10 engineering schools in the country. I applied early decision and was accepted before Christmas of my senior year, so I knew where I was going to college ~8 months before I started. My SAT scores were actually pretty low : 570 Reading and 680 Math, but I got a 780 on the Biology SAT. I had a recommendation from a Ph.D. chemical engineer so that certainly helped. Don't let low SAT scores stop you.

I graduated from that school ~1.25 years ago, and I'm now a chemical engineer at a major semiconductor manufacturing company.
