I was using avast but just got a new notebook with norton. Norton seems to be running smoother but that always makes me fear it isn't actually working. What do you find works best?
-
At the current time I am using McAfee. I have also used Norton in the past. They are both good.
-
I have been using webroot.
-
i use norton cause it came with the comcast offer i suppose if you clear you history often should be fine
-
I hate Norton, when you try to get it off your computer it is nearly impossible. My friend who is a business technology major and he says that Norton is basically a virus itself.
I use Spyware Doctor and I absolutely love it.

i use microsoft security essentials...free and usually is pretty good at catching any buggies that are floating around
-
I personally despise Norton, just because it's given me a lot of trouble in the past :( I always scan my computer with Malwarebytes on a regular basis though
-
I do surverys and free offers, and I use avast for my virus protection! it seems to be doing a goo job, and it was free!!!!

From experience I would recommend SEP (Symantec endpoint protection) "or" Kaspersky Internet Security,
then add MalwareBytes to compliment either one. With this level of security you'll see that all other anti-virus
has been lazy in-terms of protection.

Norton and MalwareBytes are lifesavers.
-
Symantec Corporate.
Hee hee :angel11:

I use Trend Micro; much better (IMHO) than Norton or McAfee.
-
A lot of you seem to like MalwareBytes. Is it free?I've got the Win 7 virus and I've heard MalwareBytes is one of the only ways to get rid of it.
-
I just use free antivirus. I always say if someone made the security then someone can break it.
-
Thanks everyone. Very helpful. You had some I've never heard of and will be checking them out.

I was formerly using AVG and didn't have much issues, but I enjoy my current antivirus Avast (free version). I never got any alerts when doing surveys, but I do not participate on ones requiring download either. As to offers I only do the standard clicks and video watching, so I haven't been plagued thus far (knock on wood).

It doesn't matter as long as its some kind of antispyware, virus protection and that it actually works.
-
I use Norton too. I have to get it upgraded in a month though, this actually reminded me so thanks!

I use Mint Linux instead of Windows, so I don't need any virus or malware protection at all. If someone did come up with something that ruined my computer, in 10 minutes I could reinstall everything and be back in business.
