which sex is the weakest and why or why not?
-
By far when it comes to strength women are weaker. They were made that way.
-
which sex is the weakest and why or why not?
Pertaining to what category? Be specific!

"Weakest" in what respect? Physically, mentally, emotionally, or what?

Ha! We asked essentially the same question at the same time, (thus dispelling the fundie "jr. hypothesis"). As to the thread's question; it could be that it was general enough to imply overall 'weakness' as a combination of all potential catagories. Personally, I find such an evaluation to depend upon the individual themselves; regardless of gender.
-
This sounds like one of those "..so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you." deduction situations.
-
Both are weak in one way or another, that is for sure.
-
each has their strengths and weaknesses. That's why we're so different and chose to be with a mate for the most part.

Obviously we were separated at birth :-0

True.

Mom always loved you best though.

True.
So, it's one of those 'would you prefer to be stabbed in the eye or shot through the eye' questions?

There are things women are much stronger about than men and there are areas where males are obviously stronger.
I would actually love for all the men that call women weak to experience child birth
-
Women are physically weaker in most cases, but so what. There's a reason for that, and it's called babies.
As for being weak in non-physical ways, weak people come in all sizes, colors, and genders.
-
women are weaker physically but it gets you out of heavy lifting even if you could lift something you can always say oh i can't lift that and some guy who's around will do it for you usually

lol Way to push the women's movement back a few decades.

That makes me want to shout "I'll open my pickle jar myself, thank you very much!"
In the most literal sense, the average male is physically stronger than the average woman. However, women's physiology are better designed for endurance than that of men's.

Women can pass a watermelon through a keyhole. I think they win.

im pertaining to economically or mentally in that sense.
-
"Economically"? Wha?

Well spoken, my friend. And I, too, will never get involved in a land war in Asia.
And as the black knight said in the Holy Grail - let's call it a draw. ;D
-
The weaker sex is sex where either participant just lies there without much active participation. The stronger sex is sex where participants are more actively involved. HTH
-
iv heard or read somewhere, that women are stronger...IF you compare they hight and weight ratio..meaning that women have more stenghth per pound than men.

And so are ants!
In all seriousness, I don't believe this "factoid" you are offering. Many women are shorter than men, yes; however...thanks to obesity, lots of short women weigh as much or more than the average male. So this "ratio" is way out of skew there.
Even if a woman wasn't overweight - let's use me as an example - there's no way I'm anywhere close to being as strong as my husband, who has 50lbs. and 5 inches on me. This is because the testosterone distribution in this comparison is nowhere near equal!
You can compare male and female bodybuilders of the same weight and see that the male can still lift significantly more. Maybe if a woman only weighed like, 20lbs. and could lift a lot of weight, then your equation could work.
-
I think that both sexes have strengths and weaknesses that compensate each other in different areas. Women in general can be just as physically strong as men, especially if you are looking at strenghth related to the size of the person pushing the weight. If you are judging by who has lifted the heaviest weight in any area a man probably has that area locked in. From the view of who is stronger from a mental perspective I don't believe there isan advantage with either sex.
-
Are you talking physically or their attitude? Mentally I think they are even. If you are talking about attitude then I think it depends. But for the most part i think wemon has us beat on this. Im not saying that they have better attitudes but i think that a mature woman is more firm on her attitude and wont give it up. Physically of course men are stronger. We were just built to be stronger. (not saying there are no exceptions). The strongest man will be stronger then the strongest woman, and the weakest man will be stronger them the weakest woman. (of course exceptions). But a woman that cares about muscle and builds it up will be stonger then a man that doesnt really work at getting muscle.
-
I think its more about the indivdual person.
-
This is a good question to start a great debate. But my personal opinion. Both are strong and Both are weak in one way or another, depends on the situation etc.
-
weoman by far are the strongest mentally maybe sometimes not physically but men have to b the weakest weoman can handle all types of things and multi tasking which a man wouldnt b able to deal with

No doubt! It seems some chicks take the feminist movement too far and use every mundane opportunity to bash men/claim superiority.

physical strength I say man.. I am 6'3" 265lbs. my wife is 5'7" 130 lbs.. however when it came to child birth an i saw the pain she was in. COUNT ME OUT. I think women posses the strength where they need it ..
-
men are the weaker sex
-
men are the weaker sex
Why?
-
Physically stronger, males are because of size and testosterone. Other than brawn, I feel males are overall weaker. Here's why: For one thing sometimes they wont grow up, and then they are like children. (I understand that women can be like this too, but we are less likely to be led arouns by our sex organs than are men) Also, it's a sign of weakness to hide your tender side, with machoism and controlling behavior. Men often do this. Women on the other hand show not only their tender side but their strong side as well, like in the workforce, and juggling career, home and children. One other thing.. giving birth. If men had to do it, they may do it one time out of ignorance, but never again! I am not a man hater.. I've been happily married for a long time. This is my second marriage, and I was lucky enough to find a man who does not do any of the above. We are partners in every sense of the word, and we stand eas equals with great admiration and respect for each other.
-

This is a common attitude of women but, does not provide evidence that it is a "sign of weakness". Further, many women, (and many men), use such emotional tender sides as 'emotional control'. This can be considered a "sign of weakness" or 'strength', depending upon which end of the pointy stick you're on.
-
Why do either of the sexes have to be defined as the weaker one? There are so many different types of gender roles now, who cares?
-
I don't know why the XX crowd keeps bringing up childbirth. You do know that is optional, right? lol
-
not a good question....but the answers are very entertaining. LOL
-
REALLY??!! I am a female and have had 2 children naturally. I would have to think that woman are stronger, there is no man in this world that can go thru something like that. And i am stronger than my husband, i played more sports in high school than him and i can bench press him, so yeah......i dont think men are stronger.
-
HAHA I THINK MAN.... BEKUZ THEY WANT US TO DO CRAZY THINGZ IN ITS LIKE REALLY WHY CANT YUH DO THAT :dontknow: :dontknow:

Fortunately, pregnancy is not a requirement to be considered female. ;D In addition, scientific evidence disagrees with "common knowledge" about pain tolerance in general. Studies have shown that women on average have a much lower tolerance for pain than men; females have more nerves/area than males. However, during pregnancies, all female mammals apparently build up a supply of natural painkillers in preparation for labor. Unfortunately, I could only share the abstract information; my school's article database blocks copy/paste.

I can tell you who the first is to complain and hit the hay when he thinks he has the flu or a cold or a sniffle. That aside, each gender has their own unique strengths and weaknesses. "Weak" is a relative term, in any case; so is "smart." Besides, it would be a boring world without men...Happy Valentine's Day, or Happy Singles Awareness Day, whichever applies.

HMMM I let my wife punch me last night after reading this, and it really didnt hurt. But when i hit her , dropped her like a sack of potatoes... Just kidding abuse is not funny , unless your abusing a clown
-
Queen of Nines.. Of course people understand that childbirth is optional...It's not whether you give birth or not. It's that you are built to withstand it if you choose, whereas men are not. :cat:
