Title: Valentine's Day
Post by: ktheodos on February 11, 2012, 03:06:43 pm
So...what are people's plans (no revealing surprises that might be exposed of course)?? Is this even a necessary "holiday"? Shouldn't every day be Valentine's Day (without the expensive gift exchange of course) in terms of sharing our love??

AGREE! And honestly I personally thing that Christmas is a MUCH more romantic holiday than a holiday where everyone freaks out about "OH HOLY CRAP I HAVE TO BE ALL ROMANTIC CUZ THE HOLIDAY SAYS SO!" at least for Christmas it doesn't matter if you are romantic, funny, outgoing, or whatever, as long as your with your family, friends, or significant other, its special enough.

My husband and I make sure that we tell each other daily that we love each other, Valentines Day has become such a Hallmark holiday with way too much hype. People should know how much you care about them every day .

I don't think we are doing anything this year. I got him a small gift but was going to get it for him anyway regardless of this non-holiday.
I think he might get me flowers.

I'm actually surprised I haven't already gotten flowers delivered LOL
It's not a per V-day plan, but we are going away this weekend to Chicago.  It's nice to get away and in general it's somet imes alone with each other.
I like V-day mainly because after Xmas and Turkey day, those are about family, but V-day is just about two people...you and the one you choose.  I like that

My husband and I aren't big on Valentines Day. We celebrate each other throughout the year, like going to dinner.

Being single and unattached I don't do anything special for Valentine's.

The art league I belong to held their annual fundraising tea at our gallery on Sunday.

Happy Valentine's to all who celebrate!

I agree. Life is a gift and we should share it wi th the ones we love.

That being said this is still a a tough time for many because they aren't with their loved ones or like me single and don't have a family of my own.

I'm going to call a couple of friends I haven't spoken to in awhile catch up and have a couple of laughs.

Happy Valentines day Everyone! :peace:

My spouse is sick today, so I won't be cooking that special dinner.   After 25 Valentine's Day together with him I will not be sad if I do not get any items today, because I have the most valuable thing: LOVE!   I hope everyone have a very  Valentine's Day I know I will.

No special plans today. My husband is out of town working. We called to say Happy Valentine's day and that "I Love You".... but we tell each other that everyday anyway. No expensive gifts or flowers.

I agree, it is just another day for people to spend money.  (Try telling that to the young people who are in love) But for the older love people we show our love everyday.

I don't have a lot of plans for Valentine's Day! Everyday people that love one another should show their love! I think the idea of Valentine's Day's Great, during the year sometime's people just get busy and don't think of other's this way much. Just a good reminder!
