TurboTax does have a free version available on their website. I've used it the last two years, and it works fine as long as you've got a fairly simple filing to do. So for a teen/young adult who's only worked regular small-time jobs (paid by the hour, no stock or insurance to mess with, just paycheck to paycheck), it works great. Very quick and easy, they walk you thru the whole process. I actually just filed my taxes with them a couple days ago, and the whole process seriously took me like a half hour.

Hope that helps!

It's a trap!

No but seriously, it's legit.  It's good stuff.  My parents use it and swear by it.

I've used Turbo Tax for years as a college student and now as a post-graduate with my Master's. I used to use the free edition and now find myself having to upgrade. It's all still very easy and the audit error proof mumbo jumbo is a breeze. I would always recommend it to my friends and they had the same results.

I've used it every year for the last 5 years, I've never had a problem, I have someone double check my taxes, it always comes out right. You have to pay to e-file for state but honestly for me it's the way to go.

I've always used it for my federal taxes. I file my state taxes through a state portal website, since my state isn't one of the "free" ones. But it's easy & I've never had any problems! Then again I am a single person w/out any complicated tax situations!  :bunny:

Have heard that Turbo Tax is good, but I use Taxcut which guides you smoothly thru the complete process.  Have been doing my own taxes for years and no problems.
