My mom was telling a story of when she was in high school. She worked as a waitress after school. It was about this Texan came into the restaurant. In those days, you greeted the men who were alone with a cup of coffee and a newspaper. The man drank his coffee, which my mom refilled twice, he read the newspaper, left the .35 cents for the coffee and $5.00 as a tip.
What is the most you ever paid for a cup of regular coffee?
Or what is the largest tip (% or amount) you ever left?
I would say when I was in Alaska, I paid 4.19 for a cup of coffee.
Another time here on the mainland, I left a $12 tip by accident. I had a meal and the total price of the meal was $8.04. I gave the waitress a $20 thinking it was a $10 and told her to keep the change. I didn't realize my mistake until about a week later.

I bought a cup of coffee at a so called up class joint and it was the worst coffee i had ever drank and very overpriced, but did leave a 20 percent tip for the waitress ( they are very poorly paid) Govt. also charges them an 8percent tax on their tickets. It wasn't her fault is tasted awful.

Well there are things throughout life where I try to save money and there are also ways that my personality or taste buds save me money. This is one of those. I don't drink coffee so I guess I have saved some money on this issue.
