Title: What was your favorite game to play when you were a kid

Post by: pirewolf on March 28, 2012, 08:31:28 am: I like to play the lava game. Where you pretend that the floor is lava. We would put pillows on the floor to make rocks that we could jump across. Its funny cause on the disney channel they have a song for it now. My kids even play it sometimes now. Its so cute.

Post by: jski107 on March 28, 2012, 10:06:19 am: Definitely 4 square although now I don't even remember the rules or guidelines to the game. All I remember is that the 4-square square was always taken during recess and you were lucky if you got to play that day.

Post by: marcee30 on March 28, 2012, 10:48:31 am: My favorite game as a child was double dutch :heart:....my sisters and I thought ourselves how to jump so it was a lot of fun. There is a rhythmic beat to jumping double dutch and kids would often say we where double handed so we had practice a lot at home just so we could jump during recess.....Those where the days. I still jump from time to time its a good exercise

Post by: hicaniplay on March 28, 2012, 01:31:04 pm: Make believe games in the dirt, most using toy dinosaurs and animals. Occasionally used hot wheels or G.I. Joes but didn't really care for them (they were too big/small compared to the other toys lol Also the reason Barbie was usually out). We'd make towns and farms and do like Oregon Trail/western things, or have countries/tribes and wars, or occasionally alien/future/strange land stuff.
And before bedtime, we'd tell interactive "choice your own adventure" stories.
Now that I'm older, they were basically like DnD or other roleplaying games, with my sister usually being the "dungeon master" although we didn't have those terms for it and our games almost always started in a fake "random" way of "you're in a hallway filled with doors - pick one". :D

Post by: pattersondebra on March 28, 2012, 02:54:55 pm: I loved playing softball - I come from a family of 4 boys and 9 girls so we had our own team. Our mom and dad played too. Sundays were spent playing games with family. I miss that.

Post by: gramev64 on March 29, 2012, 09:07:11 am: When I was young, we made up our own games to play. Mine was fox and geese, where we would make a big round circle in the snow, and then play tag. Of course there was alot of pushing and shoving each other into the snow, but that was what made it fun! We would make the circle like a pie cut in quarters.

Barbie doll with my best friend next door. I can spend hours at her house.

Board games were so much fun on those rainy days.
