I am a really fast typist. When I was taught typing at school we had to read the words out loud while typing (it was a bit noisy) and that seemed to speed up the typing tempo

I had one year of typing in high school about 53 years ago or so.  We only had 2 electric typewriters for the whole class so we mostly worked on manuals.  My speed has increased a bunch now that I have a computer.

I should prove my typing speeds too. I use to practice with the typing software but it did not help much.

home row keys! i used to think my jr. high keyboarding
class was torture because our teacher made us use the
home row keys...but it really helped! if you keep your
fingers positioned on/above certain keys at all times,
you'll be able to reach all the letters easily while typing.

you can also google 'word per minute test' or 'typing test'
and find some neat practice test sites that time you and give
you scores. they make learning the keyboard less frustrating

i think the only way to type faster is to practice over and over, type the letters on the key board until your fingers just go there without thinking about it. kind of like driving a car you practice and sooner or later you realize you just get in it and go. :) only typing isnt as dangerous :)

This is what I did, memorize all the keys and was using some typing softwear to practice.
Then chatted with several people at the same time helped, too!!
Good luck on typing.

Just practice, practice, and practice! The more you practice, the better you become. It’s just that simple.
