Blu-rays and iTunes or anything similar to that are pretty much the standard nowadays. It seems to me that DVDs and CDs are slowly becoming obsolete like their VHS and cassette tape predecessor. The last time I bought a DVD boxset was probably around 3 years ago. Do you remember when you last bought a DVD or CD?
-
I seem to not be buying as many as i once did, I guess that its because I have not been interested in recent movies. :'(
-
last month
-
Yep still buy them and rent them.
-
I've only bought two or three cds in my life since everything is online. I rarely buy dvds anymore; I mostly rent.
-
cd's no dvd's and blue rays yes I still purchase I still rent movies too if something is out that I really want to see.
-
Things like this are a luxury I simply cannot afford at this time in my life. It's been a very long time since I last bought a cd. I stick with what I have available & sometimes borrow from a friend or relative if I can. Plus there's always YouTube or Pandora radio for free music listening. :)
-
Yes, I still will buy them. I like watching movies at home and when I find one that I really enjoy I like being able to watch it when ever I want. Hope to buy a few dvd's next month. War horse & Puss in Boots.
-
We buy a new Cd ever once in awhile. Buy alot of DVD's usually the cheap ones, been getting some great older movies that way!
-
Yes, I still buy them, but not as much as I used to.

DVDs and CDs are not used just for movies and music. Computers and video games use them too.
-
I still buy DVDs regularly but not so many CDs any more now that I have an I pod
-
Between ITunes and netflix streaming and mabye the occasioanl redbox, I don't buy dvd's/Cd's any more.
-
Honestly, I miss the VHS tapes and cassette tapes, they lasted longer. I don't really buy CD/DVD's because I have netflix and a laptop
-
Can't remember the last time I bought a DVD or CD. I get my music from iTunes and my movies/tv shows off of Netflix and HBO.
I was actually given a DVD for my birthday a few weeks ago and decided to sell it on Ebay. I was mad when it only went for $3.00 (most of which was to cover shipping costs)!! :(
-
I haven't gotten a CD in a long time, but I sometimes will get a DVD when it's really cheap. Mostly sticking to the blu-rays, though.
-
usually around christmas time i do for presents. other than that if i hear someone i really want to listen to in my car i will.
-
I do but I buy them used
-
Done with Cds for years now, I still buy Dvds, blu-rays are still way to expensive
-
I still buy kids movies on DVD because my daughter doesn't watch regular tv because of all the stupid commercials and "too old" shows. I once in a while will buy a CD and then sell it on eBay after I import to iTunes.
-
I really don't purchase anything.
-
I still buy both.
-
I don't buy CDs anymore and haven't done so for a good 6 years or so. As to DVDs I still buy them as I don't think I need Blu Ray quality on every movie and if a family member wants to borrow a movie they will not be able to with a Blu Ray (a good majority of my family has still not switched over).
-
if this is a survey....
then no i do not still pruchase dvd

-
I still buy DVD'S I don't have a blue ray dvd player. What I don't do is rent them when I can save on gas and watch new movies on dishnetwork.
-
yes i do for collections ^^
-
If I really like the movie/artist, yeah I'll buy.
-
I think the only dvd's anyone buys now-a-days are blue rays. Technology has advanced so much that everything can literally be obtained online. Which makes it so much easier and convenient for people.
-
I bought several DVDs within the last week, but I work at Family Video, so I'm probably more inclined to buy them than your average Joe. I only buy movies I really like and know that I will be able to watch multiple times. I also rarely buy new movies, used are cheaper and still in good shape.
-
Sometimes I do.
-
Yeah I still buy cd's and dvd's. I don't see much difference with Blue Ray. This summer I've purchased some! :)
-
i still putchase dvds sometime,,but not cds :dog:
-
once in a while we will buy a dvd. they seem to be the ones either the kids want to watch over and over, or ones that we let family borrow.
-
Occassionally buy dvds.
-
No I stop buying them. All my movies are on my computer and my music is on my phone.
-
I also don't buy as many as I used to, just don't have the interest in watching anything.
-
Yes we still buy them and own them also rent them.
-
No...the internet has kindof taken over everything...
-
Yes. We buy them used, if possible. Can get good used ones on Amazon and eBay.
-
I haven't purchased CDs in ages. It's so much easier to download a song to my computer or phone, transfer it to my other devices, and know it's safely stored without the risk of scratches or the like.
Blu-rays are DVDS, just a certain format of DVD, and I do buy those. The picture is much nicer. I'm not on NetFlix or anything, but I'm not against the prospect of streaming movies or TV shows by any means. I do use On Demand for free stuff.
-
I still buy dvd's and cd's at Walmart and on Amazon.
-
With the advent of streaming services, dvds on the mail and video on demand, in terms of DVDs, its decreased the purchasing aspect of it, however, if I really like the movie I might go out and buy it on sale, but rather get Bluray than DVD instead. In terms of CD's, not really, I don't buy them anymore, unless if it is for supporting a new artist and such; other than that, I rather buy digital downloads, that I can transfer seamlessly between devices and store them in the cloud.
-
i have never bought dvds becuase most movies i can rent and i only want to watch them once usually
-
No i do not buy dvds or cds/its been years sence i bought a cd-i see no point now sence i watch a lot of netflix and for music youtube :)
-
I still buy dvds but no more cds. I buy dvds on amazon or used ones on e bay.
-
Usually I now watch movies online. Every once in awhile if I see a movie I really like on sale cheap on DVD, I will buy it. Mostly, the DVD's I buy are exercise DVDs because I like to work out at home. Cheaper than joining a gym. As far as CDs, I hardly ever buy one anymore.
-
Not so much. We mostly rent things on Redbox and Netflix.
-
I bought the Avengers DVD a couple of days ago... we like to take a couple of DVDs whenever we go dirt biking or camping. It's been ages since I last bought a CD though :P
-
Can't remember when was last time I bought one DVD or CD. I prefer bluray now.
-
Yeah we get movies for my 4 year old and games and stuff, CDs, not so much!
-
Nope, don't buy either.
-
Since I don't go to movie theaters, I have been purchasing my DVD's for years. The theaters are usually nasty with stick floors.
-
I still buy them both it's good to have those hard copies especially your favorite music. You can always have it.
-
No need to...you tube plays my music and dish replays every movie over and over...
-
I still do! I like to have on hand movies that I like, just in case there is nothing on TV. On the weekend I normally just pop in a DVD.
-
The last time I bought a DVD was about a year ago. And I haven't bought a CD for about 5 or 6 years.
-
I really cant remember how long it has been, so must be a couple of years now. I really like digital, mostly because of space these days really trying to downsize
-
Yes I do. I purchase DVDs more than CDs because I have premium Spotify membership and generally use that for my music listening needs. But if I really, really love a CD I will go out and buy it generally for the car 8)
-
I'ts been a few years for me I have even put my dvd player away
-
Nope. I borrow them and download them to an Mp3.
-
I still buy DVDs, but not CDs so much
-
no I've gone digital
DVD's and CD's take up space and usually cost more money
Digital copies are cheaper, easier to store and more convenient.
Of course going digital can backfire if you lose the place where you store them like your computer.
-
I don't purchase them anymore, but it has nothing to do with new technology. Money is tight with my like a lot of people and the economy really isn't showing signs of recovering. These are some purchases that have been eliminated to halp save money.
-
Yes I still buy cds from all my favorite bands. They always have such cool artwork.
-
I buy DVD's for my boys they're 2 and 5. Sometimes I find a coupon for specific children's movie and I'll use it to buy a movie for a gift. I love music. I still get cd's from time to time but my husband got me an mp3 player so I get most of my music from the internet.
-
I still buy and rent dvd's and cd's because you can't burn DVD's you buy from Itunes.
-
Still buy a few dvds. Most music I download from the internet and put on my phone or ipod
-
I still purchase the DVDs and CDs because when I go on a trip I like to have my favorites with me.
-
yep still buy dvds and cds but not as many as i use to i like the older sly and arny action movies
