And ask for your phone number? How do you react?
-
It's been a long time since I experienced something like that but I think I would be guarded...
I would also wonder why they're approaching me and why they want my number.
I'm an introvert so it would definitely take me out of my comfort zone if I wasn't anticipating a
situation like that.
-
I would say no. I've never had someone just randomly ask for my number so I wouldn't trust them. Though apparently I'm intimidating when I walk so I doubt I'd ever have that happen.
For me though, unless I have a reason to want to talk to you (friends, school, work, etc) I really don't give out my number. Most of the people in my phone were important to me at one point or another so having a random person I don't know in there would be odd.
Anyway, it would also depend on what they did and such. If they just walked up and said, "could I have your number" it would definitely be no. If they started up a conversation with me and maybe asked for it at the end, I would still be a little on edge but might be more willing to hand it out then.

This doesn't happen to me. :-[

I have to wonder what are you wearing when you walk down the street? lol
-
OK, I cheated... I'm not a woman. HOWEVER, from a man's perspective, I would never randomly go up to a complete stranger, man or woman, and ask for their phone number. These days they would think I'm a hacker, scammer, sicko or just plain weird. Now if I have the opportunity and get to know them, that's a different story...
-
I don't give out my number to someone who approaches me on the street. The last time this happened, I had a brief conversation and let him give me his number.
-
It depends on the area: in Bridgeport or Hartford, Ct, I'd be feeling for my pepper spray, and keeping it in hand until I locked the door behind me whenever I got home. Here in Maine I just flash 'em my wedding ring as I wave "have a nice day!" :bunny:

Me neither.

for the most part my hubby is with me. When i was single i carried a stun gun and had to use it one night. Never put yourself in the positon of a strange man approaching you. It istoo scary out there anymore.
-
Approached on the street, approached by a stranger, approached by a guy that is "too young", approached by a guy that is "too old", approached by a "loser"... I always give them a number. (Then they leave and they can find out later that the number they were given belongs to the local humane society.)
-
Assuming this is a guy I don't know, my first response would be "Why do you want my number?" Most likely though seeing as I'm married and don't typically give my number out to strangers male or female I'd most likely tell them "no" and walk away.
-
I think someone has to be kind of a weirdo to ask someone for a phone number that they approach on the street anyway. Apparently they only care about looks if that is what possesses them to ask so at the least they must be shallow.
-
That has never happened to me. I have gotten looks and wolf whistles but nobody has ever asked for my number. In any case, I would never give it to them.
-
i just ignore them and keep walking
-
I would just flatly tell him, “Sorry. I do not indiscriminately give out my number to strangers.” Thank goodness that haven’t happen to me for many years being a single female alone in the street before having my own car.
