Title: New Platinum level suggestion
Post by: falcon9 on April 09, 2012, 03:52:12 am
Since Admin has just recently added the Platinum level for members reaching 4,000 posts on FC and it's more of a 'who yammers a lot' thing, a suggestion occurs.

There are a few FC members at the Silver and Gold posting levels.  How about a (paid) contest to guess which ones will go from Silver to Gold first and which from Gold to Platinum, (even though "old buddy" is out in front as far as posts go, it's still a horse race)?

What do you think, (and how much of a reward would you suggest for participants/members who hit Gold & Platinum levels)?

How about a solid platinum bar as a reward for the first member who reaches 4000 posts? FC could call it the first mega-reward bonus ever offered! I'm sure such a promotion would make landing referrals a heck of a lot easier, even for 'oldbuddy' (who's sitting pretty at 3411 posts by the way).  ;D

Er, although I like your style, I'm somehow doubtful FC would pony-up around $1621 for say, a one oz. bar of platinum.  ;)
I suppose I had something like a one-time bonus of $1 for Gold level, $3 for Platinum, (based on the premise that at least 1000-1667 contributory posts have been made by such members, which ultimately benefits FC as well)?

What do you think about say, $0.05 for those who guess which members hit Gold/Platinum first, (those who guess will have to look at posting numbers themselves - even if most know OB is in the lead among the Gold level members)?

Ya think? Just my warped sense of humor! A guy can dream though, can't he? Here's what Wikipedia says about the value of platinum:

The price of platinum, like other industrial commodities, is more volatile than that of gold. In 2008, the price of platinum dropped from $2,252 to $774 per oz,[49] a loss of nearly 2/3 of its value.

Hey Kohler, how about creating a contest to see who could come up with the best suggestion for a suitable reward to the first ten to reach the Platinum level?

Worse yet, it dropped $4 this morning when the markets opened, (surely not because we mentioned giving a bar away on FC).  Weirdly, Palladium opened up $10 ... spot commodity markets are volitile.

That's an interesting idea.

We're unlikely to offer rewards for posting.  It just encourages faster/worse posting.
I'm not saying that all the high post count members are spamming (they're certainly not), only that a cash reward would push quantity over quality.  That happens enough as it is, when the only "reward" is a fifteen pixel gold star :)

So, nine stars for Platinum level?

So how about a congratulatory e-mail from FC when we hit Platinum for being a loyal member for so long? Like a thank you.

Fifteen pixel gold star...that really just made me laugh!  So true what people will do for a perceived reward!

That sounds like a better suggestion.

if this happened people would just start posting so much garbage it would get ridiculous. I think a platinum level to get more offers or surveys would be nice but maybe after you reach a certain dollar amount made.

I think it's a neat idea. Just hire a moderator to agresstively monitor 'excessive' posts.

Get a petition going for the Platinum level and I will join.  ;D ;D

That is a totally  great idea, whoever made the suggest really hit on a goldmine idea....

As long as Fusion Cash keeps upgrading this company will become a real household name.

Or we could just continue to get "paid to post" and they keep upgrading levels for people who get more and more posts.  I do like the idea that someone mentioned a few posts above me about when you get up more in "levels" or "posts" to get better/more offers and surveys.  I also think that people who reach a certain amount of $$ in free offers and tasks (like in a certain amount of time) would be a good idea.  Like if for 3 months straight you reach a $25 cashout, get a dollar extra, if you do it for six months straight you get three, then it starts over at one for the next, and so on.  Just a thought.

Fascinating! Did your aunt make any sweaters featuring silver or gold filigree...? Or perhaps a scarf with platinum trim? Do tell!

Interesting how we are all coming up with ways for FC to shell out some extra cash, without knowing where they will get the extra cash from!  Good ideas - but anything involving posts plus money needs thought.  I'm sure Fusion Cash has it's hands full  just making sure the 30 monthly posts are contributory and not just spamming for the sake of cramming in 30 posts.  Now, perhaps something for those who hit the 30 posts every month straight for a year because those contributions have already been gone over just for the monthly 3.00 posting bonus.
BUT then again - I was happy just to reach the extra star each time I did, and see my new "title".  Honestly, that was reward enough.  Some things are just worth doing for their intrinsic value.
