REcylcing is the least we can do to relieve the strains our nation puts on third world nations to produce the crap we seem to throw away....most of which is shipped back in the form of trash to those third world nations that produced it...... :peace:

I absolutely recycle what I can. I also compost. I don't really understand people that don't recycle because it isn't really that difficult.
When I lived in the country growing up I used to have to separate out every type of paper, cans, glass, bottles, etc.. I had to take labels off, clean thoroughly, crush all cans all the way. Then we would pile it in the car and spend an hour or more sorting out and putting all the different recycling in different receptacles at the local dump.
It is so easy now that I live in town. Just throw most of it in one bin and put it on the street.

I recycle whatever I can. It takes a lot of people working together to make a difference, but it's possible! :fish:

Thats so true. In Orcutt they allso have a trash can for lawn. so you get three cans. 1 for trash 1 for recycling and another for lawn. With recycling and lawn there you can fill your trash can so easly. So thats good they do it that way.

I'd recycle cans and bottles and for paper; I'd use it for shipping fillers. We could cut down costs and trees if more of us went digital.
-
I wish we had more reclycle place here. As soon as you find one they close.
-
I recycle, but we don't have curbside recycling where i live, so i separate everything in bins in my garage. When I have a good size load, I take it to the recycling center--and get paid in return. It's a pretty good deal ;D

I don't really recycle. I do watch my water and electricity use, but more for money than worrying about the environment. I get sick of all the "green" talk, so maybe that's why I don't much care for it.

I'm glad that where I live has curbside pickup for ours. When I visit someone that doesn't have recycling, I always feel bad about throwing some things away.

Recycling really cuts down on the trash. We have two separate cans for recycleables and the rest for nonrecycleables/regular trash.

:) I'm trying to find websites that let me order free recycling posters so i can post all over my school's campus. ;D
But haven't collected much. :P

I love recycling, and always do it, and I dont have loads of trash. I am happy, that I do my part in reducing trash in our landfills. :peace:

I have been recycling for the last few years and I wish I always did!!! Its great and everyone should!!

Our house too. Our recycling bin is usually overflowing, while there is room in the garbage bin.
-
My recycling bin is almost always filled way before my trash bin. Our city recycles so much and keeps adding to the list of what we can recycle each year. To make it even easier for us, they allow us to mix everything in one common "recycle" bin vs having to separate everything. I think this helps to encourage recycling in my area.
I just got myself a composter too - really looking forward to not having to toss our food scraps to further reduce my garbage pile!

I recycle EVERYTHING. Even the foil lids off of yogurt. I <3 our mother earth. :peace:

I agree with you--i only do the "green" things for my benefit. I think most people are that way. You either do environmentally sound things because they are convenient or because you get some sort of positive personal gain for it (money). I don't have curbside recycle, but i still recycle because I get paid at the recycle center (things that don't pay I don't waste my time with). I conserve water, electricity and gas so that I save money. I would like to say that I do it for the environment, but that is just a bonus, I wouldn't care so much if I wasn't compensated for my efforts. I think the majority of people (not all) are this way, whether they will admit it to themselves or not.

It really cuts down on the trash here also and I like to recycle.

I recycle as much as I can. The main things are newspapers, can, paper and plastic bags.
I bring my own bags to the grocrey store
I wish i had more room in my house to recycled things  :peace:

I walk around my town picking up cans all the time and then take them to the scrap yard and get money for them. We try to recycle as much as we can at my house.
