They say that when it rains people some people get very depressed.
Is this you?

I absolutely love rainy days, except when an outdoor event has been planned :D.

It all depends on the type of rain, and the mood you're in when you wake up. Thunderstorms aren't depressing, fr'instance. They scare the crap out of me, and are basically the most awesome thing ever when you get caught in them, and either way are full of adrenaline rush. Soft grey rain, the kind that gives you pounding in your head and milky-white skies - that can be depressing. But its nice to cuddle up to someone/thing (like a welcoming cat) on those kinds of days.
The worst is depressing boring rain when you're supposed to be outside having fun.
-
depends, if i have something to do then yeah or if its been raining for days im depressed
-
I like rainy days myself. I love the smell in the air after it's done raining.

I'd have to agree with you and Eddie Rabbit's song in that regard;
" ... love to hear the thunder;
Watch the lightning
When it lights up the sky.
You know it makes me feel good."
Negative ions engendering a 'positive' feeling ... who'd have thought a minus could be a plus?

Yes I do It gets very gloomy out but I would rather have ran than snow. Snow depresses me more. How many people agree with me? Raise your hands.
-
I love the rain, but it makes me tired. I usually sleep in on rainy days.
-
No it does not depress me, but it does make me want to sleep.
-
Rainy dfays have no negative effects on me. As a matter of fact, I tend to enjoy them, especially if it thunders as well; Good sleep time ;D
-
It depends on my mood.
-
We are so dry in our part of the country that any rain is great, the air is fresh and clean afterwards. also love a rainy night.
-
I love rainy days. Especially the lightning and thunder
-
Humm I wonder why people would feel depressed when it rains.. maybe because it slows their pace down and causes them to think about things. When out and about on a sunny day time slips by and possiably things werent really pondered about though out the day but tucked away. But even if that is the case remedy should be contemplated about concerning the matter and faith in God and the reading of His word should cause the atmosphere to change. I love the rain, its soothing.
-
they make me want to sleep :) :) :)
-
I don't like rainy day too much, I have to mow my grass so often
-
I don't know about depress but it sure does make me what to sleep
-
Nope not at all. Ya just have to think like this. Rain makes corn, corn makes whiskey. whiskey makes my baby feel a little frisky and move on.
-
I am not depress by rainy day. If there is no rain, the atmosphere will be more polluted.
-

I don't know about that whiskey, but I am never depressed on a rainy day. It does slows things down a bit but that is ok too.
-
I suppose rainy days can possibly get depressed, but I also can get this way in any weather conditions. I suppose I'm a little sensitive as well with people around me. If other people are generally gloomy this can affect my own mood.
-
I like rainy days, when I dont need to go outside for anything.
-
Not at all, that means i can sleep better and not have to straighten my hair.
-
I love rainy days. I don't get depressed at all. Now if it is a storm and things are flying all over the place, then I get mad. I have known people who get depressed on rainy days. They stay home and would not go anywhere. I tried to lift up one of buddies, but he was so depressed that would not leave his bed. At that time he has broken up with his girlfriend and I thought that was it.No, it eas raining. Every mind is a whole different world. That's why we are humans and not robots or machines. We have feelings and sometimes we react to certain events that happen in our daily life. Don't get depressed get happy.

Depress me? No.... I do want to stay inside and just sleep though... but a GOOD thunder storm? That's the BEST!!!
-
They don't depress me but I agree with some of the other replies here ... I love to sleep to the sound of the rain.
-
Rainy days makes me so lazy dont feel like getting up...just want to stay in bed and sleep..
-
They say that when it rains people some people get very depressed.
Is this you?
No, no, no, no, no. I love rain. When it rains I want to open my windows and experience it with
all my senses.
If it's sunny and dry too many days in a row...I can get a little bit cranky. :sad1:
-
Sometimes, yes. The weather can really have an impact on my mood-state and although I am not saddened every time it rains, most likely I am saddened my the gloomy weather. Hopefully it will stop raining soon and start feeling like summer temperatures!!
-
Rainy days makes me lazy and I just want to sleep all day.
-
I love an occasional rainy day but not to many cause I love the outdoors!!! ;D
-
The part of the country I live in we have so few rainy days that they are always a delight. And we only seem to have thunder and lighting about 1 every other year or so. When I lived in Southwestern Colorado..that area has the most fantastic thunder and lighting storms. I think if it rained as much as Seattle type areas, the rain could get you down, I have to see sunshine often! LOL :fish:
-
Rainy days just makes me want to go to sleep :icon_rr:
-
I love rainy days. It's very relaxing to sit and listen to raindrops on the roof.
Now if it rains several days in a row, then that can be a little depressing because you can't get out the house to do anything.
-
Rainy days are good for my garden, but I tend to not be as joyful when it rains. It could be that rain causes some aches in my joints. ???
-
No I think of rainy days as refreshing when it is over everything smells clean and new
-
I love rainy days, beacuse we don't have very many of them in the desert SW.
-
Some times it does but it's more of a relaxing time for me
-
RAINY DAYS DOES NOT DEPRESS ME BECAUSE I AM AROUND THE ONES I LOVE MOST.

I used to dread rainy days when I was younger. The older I get the more I seem to appreciate them. As long as the grocery shopping is done....the evenings don't aren't jam packed with kids activities and it's not an icy cold rain. Kinda funny that I have a certain criteria in mind to enjoy rainy days.
-
I actually like rainy days, especially when I don't have to go to work.
-
i guess they make me feel a little solemn, but i love them. there is a tranquility about rainy days.
-
Sometimes they do but other times I like to relax and listen to the rain or a really good storm
-
Can't say I get depressed on rainy days. Thunderstorms energize me - love 'em! Typical rain showers either make me want to take a nap or motivate me to clean the house. I also look forward to going outside after the rain as everything appears brighter or "cleaner". Love the smell of the air after a good rain shower.
-
As long as I don't get wet. I don't like the feeling of wet clothes, wet shoes or a wet head.
-
I like the rain for a couple weeks after summer has come to an end but that is about it. I could do without the next 9 months of constant rain it does depress me and I feel like there is much less that I can do when it rains. I really like working on my garden and bbqing outside but I only really can for a couple months a year.
-
No rainy days make me happy. I love the rain becaues it waters the grase and trees. It also helps ranchers and farmers out.
-
atr one time i would say for me it is true see i have work to keep me busy and i just try not think about it anyway try keep the faith get on fc and do offer that keep me bussy along with other site im sign up with
-
My current life situation depresses me.
-
Kind of funny because I came from Wisconsin and it seemed to be overcast from September first through May thirtieth every year...could this have tied into Wisconsin having the highest rate of depression and alcoholism? It might have been tied to Wisconsin having one of the highest tax rates (number three in the country when I lived there). Or maybe it was because people stayed inside all day, drinking, and thinking about their taxes? LOL I happen to love a rainy day every once and awhile. Today, for instance, I don't have to cut the lawn and I don't feel guilty or bad about sitting in a movie theater! Make lemonade!
-
"Showers washed
All my cares away
I wake up to a sunny day
'Cos I love a rainy night"
Guess the artist who sang this.
-
I honestly do not like raining day. If I am home that day and don't need to go anywhere, I am kind of okay
-
heck no..rainy days are good to finish a book, watch a good move or to take a long deserved nap ;)
-
They say that when it rains people some people get very depressed.

Rainy days do not depress me. Instead, I either sleep or reflect over my life on rainy days. I love those rainy days!!!!!
-
Rainy days make me feel lazy . . . and sleepy.
-
Rainy days make me sleepy. As if I needed any help there. ::)
-
Quite the contrary for me, actually. Nothing puts me in a better mood than a gray, rainy day. Not sure why, but they've always cheered me up. My husband does get a little down on rainy days however.
-
NO Depression here!! Love rainy days.....I sleep like a baby!!
-
They say that when it rains people some people get very depressed.

no i love when it rains
-
rain is very calming to me....i never feel depressed, just wanna cuddle with my pillow and sleep
-
Rainy days never depress me; as a matter of fact, I enjoy rainy days due to the fact that I love to se and hear the rain fall. It's a great time to sleep too.

Oh no, I agree with you on this one point ... luckily, there are fire extinguishers nearby should I spontaneously-combust as a result.
-
Nope. I love the rain. Now if it is constantly raining for many days in a row and I don't get a chance to do things I've wanted to, then sometimes it gets to me but that rarely seems to happen.
-
No but they do make me pretty sleepy.
-
Well I can say if I home and it's rainy it a beautiful thing. If I'm out and about it makes me made because I don't like to drive with all the crazy drivers out. ;D
-
Yes!! I would say that rainy days do depress me!!! stuck in the house watching T.V. all day :sad1:
-
??? No not at all, in fact I LOVE  rainy days. I feel like its just me inside safe and warm and I like listening to the rain and making something warm to drink and as long as the electricity doesn't go off I'm fine. I can see where some might get depressed but I like the rain.
-
I love when it rains, but if it goes on for too many days it can get a little old. I love to watch movies or sleep when it rains.
-
I love the rain and stand in it for about an hour or when it stops lol. I live in desert and rain is hard to come by so we enjoy it when we get it.
-
I love rainy days. I find them so relaxing.
-
No rainy days dont depress me. I love watching the rain, sit outside and enjoy the fresh air.
-
I go to sleep when it rain :icon_rr:
-
They don't actually depress me, but they are not very good days. The only time rainy days don't bother me is when I have things to do indoors.
-
I usually dont, but if it rains days in a row it gets me down, but a little here and there is fine beets the heat sometimes
-
not if I am inside watching from my window.
I do not like to get wet feet, head or anything else.
I will cancel an outing if it's raining.
In recent weeks, I was out for a meeting and it started to rain as soon as I was in the van.
There is an overhang entrance where I live, so I never got wet.
-
Not at all, if they did I would be in big trouble since I live in Oregon.
-
when it rains i want to sleep.
-
no, i love them
-
No rainy days does not depress me, but it makes me want to sleep and enjoy being indoors. I love to be outside with the sun is shinning, and you cannot appreciate the sun if you did not have some rainey days.
-
To me it depends on how hard the rain is coming down, usually I relax on rainy days because it is so gloomy out, that is my movie time with my children. If it is raining real hard I am standing at the window hoping it's not going to flood...lol
-
Rainy days don't get me down. I love them! Good time to hibernate and just chill. Do what you want...sleep, tv, read, computer or a favorite indoor hobby. :angel11: :dog:
-
I love rainy days, but they make me very sleepy.
-
Rainy days and cloudy skies didn't use to bother me until I moved to Florida! Now - being use to the sun all the time, I realize how gray the Midwest is. I only get depressed though when it rains for days and I want to go outside :-
-
For the most part ,rain makes me feel calm and peaceful and i love thunder storms.
-
I live in New England so we have all the seasons and most kinds of weather. I also garden so rain is necessary. As long as the rain doesn't last for days and days I see it as needed and wanted, not depressing.
-
No they do not depress me. I would love to stay home when it rains and stay in bed to sleep. Not very often do I get to do that as I have a full time job. Maybe someday I will, but I don't see me able to retire anyways soon. I am 71 years old and still have to work. May God bless each of you and keep you safe. Have a wonderful weekend.
-
no i like rainey days relaxes me :bunny:
-
I feel relaxed by them and cozy.
-
As i have gotten older i love cloudy, overcast days.I think there is a certain serenity to them.I really got to hate the heat and the way the sun feels when its hot outside.I live in NY and we recently had a terrible heat that just drains you.Someone mentioned Oregon here.I think i might be a good candidate to live in the Pacific Northwest. But i dont want rain all the time either.

sometimes, but helps cool down this place alot...
-
They are so dreary
-
Rainy days don't depress me at all, I find it pleasant when it rains. It's a lot better at bedtime though.
-
a little, but i still like them very much. they are sort of peaceful.
-
I love taking a nice afternoon nap to the sound of rain and light thunder outside my window. Not crazy about the lighting though. However, too many rainy days in a row can get one a little down.
-
Rainy days use to depress me, but now my mindset is different from when I would equate staying indoors to not being able to enjoy myself and I now use rainy days to cuddle, read, or sleep.
-
No, they do not. I can usually get stuff done around the house on rainy days.
-
No, though they do annoy me at times. Mostly when I'm driving to work and it's drizzling until I get there, then it starts to pour. But mostly I just view rain as something necessary that's good for plants. No one wants a drought, after all.
-
No way! Rainy days lead to greener grass! Rainy days give you an excuse to go shopping with the kids, out to eat with your significant other, go shopping with the family, sit inside and play board games, go work out...the list goes on! I don't feel guilty about working when it is gray and rainy. I have read, however, that rainy overcast days do lead to depression. When I lived in Wisconsin I wouldn't see the sun from September first through May Thirtieth and there was a higher incidence of depression in that state. I think that all is in the perception.
-
I love the rain I could live were it rained everyday all day.
-
Tropical storm Debby is depressing me right now. Rain and wind for days - but fortunately the serious stuff is not in my location. Just the RAIN
-
No, I welcome the rainy day as long as there aren't too many of them! Even better are the rainy nights accompanied by thunder and lightning.
