:angry7: I was feeling very positive working online and viewing websites to get paid for clicking and noticed that my computer was slowing down. My computer was taking a long time just to change to another website and then I noticed that my virus scan had a RED "X" then a RED "!". I could not start my security center started.
I remembered a website that would allow me to do a free scan, so I did it and oh my goodness, there was a lot of viruses and some of them said the threat level were listed as severe.
??? So why in the world would I continue to try to make a few $0.01 just to cause over $200 worth of damage to my computer.

it make a lot of sence you have to be careful sop many hackers now days .
-
I bought BITDEFENDER Virus Program. They offer a 5 year program. The Customer pays for 5 years instead of one year. It blocks EVERYTHING. There are no loopholes like with Norton. Other virus protection programs block SOME things, not EVERYTHING and you end up with a virus you thought you were protected from.
-
I don't believe in those so called viruses that come from these types of sites. This websites would not be in operation if they did cause viruses.
-
Yes,I also do not see any kind of virus and I am using these websites since last 5 months now. You must be clicking on advertisements banners
-
I use the free version of AGV and am very happy with it. I agree that Norton doesn't always block everything. AGV has saved my a@@ on more than one occasion!
-
i have constant guard from xfinity it's very reliable have had no problems but i do have only a year old pc may have something to do with it my old pc was so slow i wanted to throw it out the window
-
If a site offers a free virus scan then they probably also offer a way to remove the viruses, if you pay. However, they sometimes claim that you have viruses that you don't just so you will buy their software.

I don't know if you know this by now,BUT
when you run those kinds of free scan by anti virus software companies they always tell you you have many virus threats on your computer, then tell you they can only clean(remove) just a few, this is so you'll be so scared about having viruses on your computer that you decide to buy their anti virus. I found this out by running my own virus test on my computer. 1st I have one of the top of the line antivirus software, it updates daily and even scans my email before it gets opened. I ran a complete scan of my system (all Drives) and came up with nothing found(not surprised), then I went to one of those free virus scans and repeated the same scan (all Drives). I was surprised (No,make that shocked) to find it had found 278 threats on my system. believe me it had me worried,so I went back to my software and did another scan just to relieve my nerves. again there was nothing found whew. just goes to show you don't believe anything those software scans tell you unless you can have it checked out by one you can trust.

That is life! Real life! There are a lot of hackers outthere.
-
The simple way to avoid all that crap for free is to access the Internet with Linux. You can dual boot it with Windows, run it from a pendrive or install it on an old computer, then the bad guys can't get in.
-
watch what websites you visit and programs you download. Wot is a good for web browser, download on their website.
-
Clear history every time. I use Free Avast, but still sometimes I get these programs that grab my computer trying to get me to buy their stuff and block me from doing anything. If I can't do anything else I go to another user account in my computer and run the Spybot Search and Destroy and BANG! Gone and saved!
Still if that doesn't work just create another user account on your computer and start all over, forget about the old one or delete it.

I did get a NASTY almost distroyed my computer and it still doesn't work right virus from going from one survey to a click this to a click that and somewhere along the lines, I picked it up! Beware!!!
-
Every time I try to complete a survey a message like this appears, "Trend Micro has confirmed that this website can transmit malicious software or has been involved in scams or frauds". I am so frustrated because I want to fill out surveys but this message always appears. Is anyone else having this problem and if so how do you solve it?
-
sometimes it happens. just beware of other sites like that. clean your cookies flash cookies and cache also use you antivirus software often...
-
Be careful! Run antivirus software at all times and don't download anything to your computer.
-
i agree with the others be careful about downloading software and run antivirus software

You should remember so many of these so called companies will have popups to tell you that your computer is in danger because of viruses. That is their scam in order for you to run a scan on your computer using their software, but in order for them to clear the viruses, there is a fee. The problem is not with FC its with programs like that. If you do downloads you never know what is on the back end of them, so you have to be very careful.

Same here for me! I used to have Norton but I didn't like it so I decided to switch to AVG, it's a really good AV.

I have gotten a visus on most of the websites I use to do surveys, including this one. I try to be very careful, but I still get them.
-
yeah you really have to be careful as there are a lot of scams out there

My computer tech says my computer is like Fort Knox. I also know what it is like to call him pulling my hair out because someone opens the wrong thing or went to the wrong site. I have Kaspersky Anti-Virus, McAfee Security Scan Plus, FixCleaner, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. I feel my computer is my money maker and it needs to be safe. :)
-
i stoped doing paid to veiw on send earnings due to viruses and i noticed im getting them from here to so i use a free computer in my building to do both i wont use my own anymore if i move no more surveys

Your computer tech is handing you a false sense of security and that in itself can be dangerous. He has no way of knowing what will arrive on the scene tomorrow or the next day and the ONLY way to be sure is to simply not use your computer online, especially where you could encounter the stuff mentioned above.
What I just did is buy an old laptop on Ebay for $21.50 that had no hard drive to get infected, then I use a USB flash memory stick ($5 at Office Depot) with Browser Linux and Firefox loaded on it to boot and run the machine. Now I can GUARANTEE my Windows computer is safe, they can't touch it!!! I can also carry it in to the TV room at night and play online while I watch TV programs.
-
THATS WHY I DONT DO DOWNLOAD OFFERS AND I CLEAN MY COMPUTER EVERYDAY. :dontknow:
-
I guess I have never gone where you have because I try to make $$$ online and haven't had this problem.
-
I read so many replies that say, "I must be OK because it doesn't happen to me".
JUST WAIT!
If you use Windows to surf websites online to make money, it's just a matter of time. I made a living with computers for 30 years and thought I know how to stay safe, but I eventually got bit too. NO ONE can avoid this unless they change their ways!
-
I never download anything anymore on these money-making sites because every time I did, I'd get a trojan or virus.
-
what you need is, a reliable virus protection program that updates daily, otherwise you might as well not even have a virus protection program. even some of the free ones update daily. I've been a member of Fusion Cash for 3 years now and i have yet to get a virus. even if i would get a virus I would remove it myself so I could save on the high cost of removal. good luck
-
I agree with some of the other posters; you've got to be careful about some of these sites.
-
I agree with what everyone has previously said.
Always make sure you have reliable antivirus software. Never download anything unless it is from a trusted source. I research before I even download anything from a site/whatever I don't have experience with. I also have AdBlock (an ad on Facebook gave me a virus when I accidentally clicked on it once, so I decided to be cautious of them since then) and I block pop-ups and only enable them when necessary.
-
yupps sometimes these downloaded programs gives me viruses too... so i know how ya feel
-
I used to use virtual PC when downloading stuff like that. If you can reset the OS and don't connect to your local network you are pretty safe that way. Other than that downloading and installing stuff is pretty risky cause your firewall and antivirus won't likely catch it until it's too late.
-
Last year, I had to do a clean and wipe on my computer. Nothing is worth that.
-
That is the major drawback from hitting every site you come to. Many promises great riches and wealth only to infest you with viruses when you click on their site. You have to be very careful. I try to scan my computer every day after activity. I use Norton's but still have some sneaky infestations to infiltrate into my system.
-
I try not to download much to my computer because I don't want any viruses. I crashed a laptop w a virus once. Not fun.
-
I agree whole-heartedly with OldBuddy... Even the best AV programs aren't completely virus-resistant. For example, I used to have a Windows XP system that was running McAffee's best AV system (AV program as well as a firewall and other security software) that caught a nasty virus. While I was working with Tech support for getting rid of the virus, I was told that the reason why it passed my AV protection was because it was a brand new virus that the AV software wasn't able to recognize. I guess I was actually working with their new malware department to figure out how to detect it as well as how to fix it. That's why with even the best AV program you have to continually get new updates; there are always new viruses coming out and some might not even be recognized by the AV software yet!
Moving to a linux based system is a little better since most viruses are made to target Windows and because the older Windows OS's allowed programs to be installed without getting permission from the computer's administrator (starting with Vista, Microsoft is starting to clamp down on what programs can be installed, although it still is not completely safe).
I would NEVER trust some AV program that you find online (unless it is coming from a major AV software company). There are actually several trojans that run like the mafia's protection racket scheme: install their "AV software" for free (which is actually the trojan), run the scan to "see" all of the infections (which it will claim there are hundreds that have infested your system when in fact only that program has now infected your computer), and pay money to "remove" these viruses and keep your computer safe, whereby they mean they will inactivate their trojan for a year if you pay them for "protection" but will activate the trojan if you decide not to pay (see here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-antivirus-vista-2010 (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-antivirus-vista-2010)). My dad accidentally got his laptop infected with this by being sucked in by some popup alert that showed all of the "viruses" his laptop was infected with. When he clicked on what he thought was his own AV program, it actually downloaded the trojan and then gave him the option to pay to remove all of the viruses. Since he had already paid for his other AV program, he got suspicious and called me. I was able to research this trojan and remove it without it damaging other files or him paying anything to this fake AV company.

It's worth it to read up on how to protect yourself from scams, and the old adage "If it looks and sounds to good to be true, it probably is" is a good thing to follow. Having made money online for about 4 years now, the ratio of scams to legit reliable money making is like 10,000;1.
