Title: 4th of July
Post by: skrogman on June 07, 2012, 02:53:13 am
What's eveybody's special plans for the 4th? Has the economy had an impact on your usual mid-summer plans?

I usually go to a baseball game and eat too many hot dogs. They have fireworks after the game. I try to do that every year. Also, this year I am joining a nationwide movement to read the Declaration of Independance. :)

Probably won't do to much means it is in the middle of the week. Do something close to home!

Don't really have major plans this year.  Going to have a cookout with close friends and then maybe go to see fireworks.

Will stay home. There are so many visitors at the lake , it can get very crowed. They are not hugh lakes and one of them will usually have aroung 10,000 and the other one will have between 30,000 to 50,000 people there. Most are from out of state. Will watch the fireworks from my house.

Little one doesn't like the loud noise so will probably stay in the car somewhere and watch fireworks from afar.

I like to do the home fireworks.  We did it for the first time just a few years ago and I loved it.
Before that I was afraid of the home fireworks thinking they were too dangerous.  But I tried it just
using the smaller and less dangerous ones and it was still lots of fun and pretty.

I don't know my schedule for next month yet.  Most likely will be working.  If not working then just home doing nothing but enjoying being off.

I usually attend an annual convention at that time of year when many people are out school or on vacation. I decided not to go this year and give myself a break financially.

Going to San Antonio Texas Sea World, they have very nice fireworks. Always go there, but sometimes when we have dry weather no rain  :'( they don't do the fireworks for security reasons. Hope they do the fireworks show this year.

Financially, we always save a little cash for our summer vacation. Still manage to go out and take my son to have fun.

I hope I can shoot off fireworks but I don't think our state will allow it due to all the forest fires! :bunny:

We usually go away for the weekend, but with July 4th on a Wednesday this year it kind of ruins those plans! We'll probably just hang around the house, work on the yard and maybe have people over for BBQ. I'm actually liking the idea of a low key mid week break from work!

Probably will have family over and have some bbq. We usually get together and celebrate multiple birthdays near the 4th on that day, but since it's midweek we may not all be able to get together.

I have to work all day July 4th.  I work at Walmart as a people greeter, so when holidays comes along I mostly likely have to work.  The way things are today I am just glad to have a job.  God has been so good to me and hope everyone has a good weekend and may God bless each of you and keep you safe.

WE are going to a bar-b-que and then watch the fireworks. It's a big day for my boys as it is one of the few days in the year that they will be up past normal bed time.

Our daughter, Natalie Stovall, and her band are playing at Ft. Bragg on the Fourth of July, opening for Gloriana.  It should be a huge crowd so we are going to go be part of the celebration.  My husband is retired military, so we usually stay on the base whenever we go to one of her military shows.  We plan to take a few days to enjoy what Ft. Bragg has to offer!

I'll be working on the 4th, so--don't have anything special planned.  I don't really mind working the 4th this year because it comes in the middle of the week; I don't really want to take a day off then because then i seems like I get two Mondays, which I don't need.

You mentioned the economy and how it might impact plans for the 4th; as a side-note, gas is now 2.95 a gallon in my burg.

Have to work both jobs, it will be the first time I won't be home to keep my dog from getting "spooked"...I'm hoping the fireworks get cancelled because it's so dry.  Otherwise I'll be worrying about her. :(
