Title: Morality
Post by: johnvon23 on June 13, 2012, 03:55:59 pm
Recently, I finally read the article about this zombie apocalypse craze thingy happening in Florida and other states wherein kids snort, ingest or inject bath salts to get that "high"... I think it's quite inappropriate and awful what happened to the Poppo guy who's a 65 year old homeless dude that got attacked by this cannibalistic kid.... I saw the photos and video and definitely gruesome.... People..... Be responsible .....  :'(

What morality, this younger generation has gone down the tubes. I have never saw so much crap out of anyother generation as this one. Don't get me wrong there is a heck of a lot of great kidso out there. But when you walk down the street and see their underware and the pants down almost off their buns, and the girls dress like sluts. and all the 4 letter words that come out of their mouths. It makes your wonder if they will ever grow up. or what . Lordy if we had even dare to say and do what some of them our mouths would have been washed out with soap and our bu##s beat. We gre up knowing right from wrong.

...no, they don't grow up, they pop out a child before they
can legally consume alcohol and then hand their offspring to
their parents to raise, while they go party and inevitably
get knocked up a second time  :D woohoo, youth of america!
they might be dumb as hell, but they sure are tan, using college
for social gatherings, and can text without watching the road!

definitely a place where i want to raise my children   ::)

Not to completely defend b/c kids do make their own decisions when it comes down to it but I have worked with youth and we really need to take a look at the people who raised these kids to act the way they do. It's not all on them, some of these parents are 50x more messed up then they are and they're just in survival mode, fight or flight etc.

You are right. If I had not had good parents I would probably be a mess too. It starts and ends with the parents. :(

Kids now a days are into so many more WEIRD things.... Gosh, when I was a kid it was the RUBBER CEMENT that kids used to sniff! It's terrible - It has a lot to do with parenting... where are the parents????

I don't want to defend kids because that would be a futile effort. All I will say is adults want to talk bad about our generation, but their generation raised us. Not all of my generation is bad. Some kids are suceeding far surpassed what anyone would even expect.

I think the problem is arising because kids are seeing the half-truths and lies from authority figures. It's causing them to rebel in the wrong ways.

Meh, I'm sort of indifferent on the subject.  The news floods us with an array of this stuff ever since the media explosion back in the mid 90's.  So, it SEEMS like there's a lot more freaks out there than previous decades, but I doubt the percentages have changed much per population.  The bad news is, people tend to forget we're all starting from a position that's imperfect.  When you try to walk down a path to do good deeds in life, it's hard to judge others when no one starts off from the right position to begin with.  Example would be a co-worker of mine was kind of a d-bag so to speak, when homeless people would ask him for change he would give it to them, but he'd take it and toss it at them so they'd have to scrounge around and pick it up for his personal amusement. (Good Deed, Bad application) So, I don't really take to much time bothering to tell people they're right or wrong anymore.  It's better to just give them recommendations (opinions) on what to do and leave it at that (Excluding raising kids of course since you have to teach them).

I used to think it was all about how kids are raised.....until we had our own.  We've raised our girls in a 2 parent Christian home where there has been very little bad language; maybe sometimes a he-- or a da-- but nothing too bad.  Our girls were not raised to spew such filty words and they sure don't know that I've heard them (by mistake)   Its appalling to me how they can talk that way in front of their friends!!  But, that seems to be the norm anymore and I don't think I will understand it.

I know this sounds bad, but to me it seems like this downfall started when most families became 2-income households. The children are not given the amount of instruction, attention and observation that is needed to produce a well-adjusted, productive adult. JUST SAYIN

That'll happen sometimes when they're exposed to religious proselytizing at young, impressionable ages, (unless they don't question it and become zombie-fundies).

Apparently, "vickiesue" used "lordy" in a post down-thread and evoked a response with her invocation.

There is definitely something wrong with the kids nowadays.  My generation (I'm 22) and the ones after just seem to have gone down hill.  I've done tons of group projects for school and it always seems like half of them will do nothing and the other half are awesome.  I work at a mini-golf/fudge shop that get's high school to college students employees and they range from amazing to horrible.

But, in their defense, I also get parents that don't watch their kids and pretty much let them do whatever.  Can't put all the blame on the kids when they aren't taught.  I've had parent that come in and have their kids stand and wait til the parents give them a club.  I've had the parent that are on the phone and letting their kid pound on the glass pane on our fudge display.

Maybe this is just me, but I don't really have the time to do all these crazy things that are going around.  I'm amazed by the kids that got out of school like three days ago (up here at least) and they are already saying how they are bored.  I have a huge list of things I want to do, things I need to do, and things I have to do, and I never get anywhere close to completing any of them.  How do these kids have nothing to do already?  It's no wonder they are doing crazy things if they are already out of things to do.  Plus I'm sure the things on TV and the internet don't help since they pretty much encourage people to do crazy/stupid things to get famous.
