I prefer to make my meatloaf with flour and one egg, but I have some family members that prefer bread crumbs. If you are a meatloaf maker, which do you prefer? I love trying new and exciting ways to cook. ;D

I prefer bread crumbs with flour meatloaf becomes too sticky and gummy inside. It's just not a good idea. Here's a tip, for more flavor add diced onions chopped parsley and two tablespoons per pound of steak sauce and a little powdered garlic the taste will explode. :) :) :)

I prefer to use bread crumbs in my meatloaf. Actually, I toast the bread then crumble it up and put it in the meat mixture. I also use onion salt instead of onions. (I'm the only one in the family that likes onions)

I prefer to use rice.
-
i use crackers or corn flakes :bunny:
-
I prefer baked bread crumbs! I know it takes longer but so yummy!

Taking after my mom I put crackers in meatloaf. I crush up one full pack of salty crackers and use that.
I add some egg and milk and ketchup, salt and pepper. Mine is not as good as mom's but it's pretty good.

I only use breadcrumbs. That's how mom taught me so it never occurred to me that there might be another way. I might have to give some of these suggestions a try. I get into a rut with cooking I'm afraid.

Bread crumbs, usually Italian . But I like to use cracker crumbs the best, broken into large pieces so it has a little crunch in it. :fish: :fish:

Same!
I've never tried flour before (or heard of it being used or listed in any recipe).
Breadcrumbs usually get used up on other things than meatloaf.
So, oatmeal if I'm being very cheap, crackers otherwise.
I also add in diced onion and tomato and sometimes throw in a can of some random veggie, but you have to watch out when loading it up, or it won't stay loaf shaped and be a lot harder to serve :P
To mix it up further, I like cheese and/or bbq sauce. Or burrito or taco seasoning added in. Also, a change in meat - turkey or part sausage will give a different flavor.

I prefer oats, never have any bread left over to make bread crumbs and the kind you buy in the store don't taste right.
-
I use only bread crumbs in my meatloaf.

My mother always used bread crumbs, and my sister does too. She also puts salsa in it which gives it a lot more flavor. She uses mild salsa but you could use the hot stuff too if you like it really spicy.

I have used bread crumbs in the past occasionally with milk but I usually use instant oats, tomato juice and an egg. It makes a great meatloaf.
-
I use cracker crumbs in my meatloaf. I've never tried flour or bread crumbs but its probably all about the same.
