Title: Your pet's special tricks/skills.
Post by: tantricia44 on June 28, 2012, 09:48:43 pm
Hey, pet owners out there in FC land. Does your pet do tricks? Mine do, And I want to brag. Shadow cat can talk back on command but sometimes have a hard time shutting him up. He also learned how to find hidden things & right know he can find hidden food under his bowl, or behind objects. Splat cat, knows how to sit when I point my finger at her & stay before moving forward to her food bowl. She recently just learned to find hidden objects. Shadow on the other hand, forgets to sit or stay, I can't tell if he's just faking it or he's got short term training memory. Working on the come command, can they make it? I don't know, with these
cats.....I don't know.....LOL tell everyone what your pet can do. I'm really curious of the untapped talents that our beloved pets can do!  :bunny: :cat: :dog: :fish: :dog: :bunny: :cat: :dog:

One of my cat's can talk, he has learned to say a few words that I use frequently at home which are: realllynowwhaaat?  and then after months of trying to teach him to say "mama", he says "mama?"   His words are really clear but they are always a question with him, he never makes a "statement"...lol :cat:

A lot of people think you cannot train a cat, but that is not true. They know what you want, but sometimes they just choose not to do it :cat: Most cat training must involve food, ( unlike a dog, who will do it just to please you) Cats feel if you are not pleased then it is your problem ;D. Out of necessity I had to train my two cats to each sit on their own side of the food bowl before I put the food down. Axel on the right, and Alley on the left. To put it bluntly, Axel is a fatso and a glutton. He will hog the food if I don't control him. So when I serve the food, I put a bigger portion on Alley's side and less food on fatso's side. I walk to the feeding area and I stand there holding the food dish, and I say "places" and they each go to their own side, and then and only then will I lay the food down.  I would feed them separately but I just don't have the time.

:star: SherylsShado ~ Wow, your cat can say words what cool talent. Shadow can only dramatically mew & sometimes a word would come out. Rarely though.....  ;) we are too jealous over! LoL!
:star:brendy1990~kissing is a difficult skill for pets. You're so lucky to get those precious doggy kisses. I try to get my cats to learn to kiss & all I get is this wide eye stare;like what in the world does she want look. You're so luck....Jealousy factor is increasing. LOl
:star:Adroden2010~now don't dump on the pit breed. If he can learn the basics that's more than any other pet owner would get; you know, the ones that don't train their pets & wonder why their homes r a total mess. Don't sell the pits' short; like children, you get what you accept. If you don't accept that your pit can learn then the result is he can't. So, give that super smart pit a huge hug for learning the basics.
:star:lbryanwf ~Wow, you're able to train you cats to not steal each others' food? Incredible! I've had this problem where I had to put their bowls in separate rooms or 1 will steal the others' after inhaling his own food first. Please if you've tips on how you trained them please send me a post! Every meal time I have to watch them or 1 gets fatter & the other will be skin & bones! 8)

:cat:Thank you all for your responses & I've & enjoyed them & I've even learned something new today!  :wave:8)
