Yep u heard that right folks...Fireworks were banned in my small town where i live...that was a real bummer for me yesterday...since shooting off fireworks is a tradition which i  to do with all my heart ... :-..That was definitely bogus...If the cops caught u shooting them off...u would go to jail..i think that's :bs:...So i had to deal with it but i wasn't happy :angry7:...I  the Fourth of July and i love celebrating...I celebrated my own way....yeah... :star: :star: :star:... :peace:

Fireworks were banned in our city...since Jan of this year. When I was a kid, we always celebrated Fourth of July and New Years Eve with fireworks... wasn't big either. Awhile ago the city banned aerials..now they banned it all...even sparklers. :(
Always the idiots that mess around with fireworks that get hurt by making home-made bombs, bonfire, etc. Instead of going after the idiots, they put a total ban on it. So much for tradition. >:(

was it cause it was so dry?
-
They are banned in most populated areas such as cities and towns because of the fire hazzard. Most areas have a public display that all can attend. Its so dry this year that any open flame is a hazzard.
-
They banned them here around New Year's. That didn't stop anyone from doing it though.
-
I can take or leave fireworks. They have them in my area only for about 10 minutes instead of the usual 30-45 minutes.
-
We had fireworks but also had alot of fires to go with them. people got careless with them and started fires.
-
;) That is pretty sad to your small town. My town is the biggest town in my state, not like a crowded city but still a town, they still let people shooting but only over 18.
-
alot of fireworks were banned around here but citys should be the only one shooting them off
-
 i live in vegas and the show on the strip is absolutely fantastic. fire works really are beautiful

I live in Virginia and probably Virginia and South Carolina are the two most liberal states when it comes to fireworks, there are stands everywhere around 4th of july selling fireworks. In certain areas of the state and Maryland they were also banned or cities not doing their Firework events because of the heat and the trees are so dry that they could catch fire. This maybe the case in your area, just remember the event out in the midwest, I think it was Oklahoma was found out to be caused by someone with a flair gun. These fires have caused over 400 houses to be burned to the ground and last heard was still only 70 percent contained. It is better to be safe then sorry!!!

they were not banned here but you can only use those that dont get higher than about 2 ft.
-
There banned in most places now.
-
Why do they ban fireworks? There are going to be stupid people doing stupid things whether they use legally bought or illegally bought fireworks! Or their gonna get smart and make their damn own which would be even worse...i just don't get it, do you? :icon_rr:
-
They are ban where I live too, but people still light them up anyway.
-
Fireworks were banned in my town also! I from Colorado and we have alot of forest fires here! :icon_rr:
-
Yep, they were banned here in my section of Colorado as well. We just watched them on TV which I like better anyway. No smoke, no crowds.y
-
our state just lifted a ban on Aeriel fireworks. This was the 1st year we could light the good fireworks and not have to worry about the police stopping your party
-
They haven't banned the fireworks here..aerial fireworks have been banned for quite awhile though. We live in OR and we used to go Washington to buy our fireworks and bring them back for out party. That was back when you could get a job and have money around here though. Or just keep your job. LOL We always enjoy the neighbors illegal fireworks though and my husband makes little bombs with gun powder, fuses, and plastic bottles to excite the kids.

I feel like this happened a lot this year, or fireworks were cancelled because of weather.....did you hear about that show in SD where all the fireworks went off at the same time though??
-
i wish they were in mine. even though they are only suppose to be used outside the city limits, it doesn't seem to stop my neighbors from setting them off and i guess they are not afraid of the $1500 fine if caught. i know i can't afford that. plus, living in Texas, it is too damn dry here to be shooting off fireworks in the city. i think i would have some serious issues with my neighbors if they burned my house down.
-
They were banned in my town as well due to very dry conditions.
-
They are illegal here to pop but alot of people do. As long as you do not get crazy they leave you alone. but you try and set of really big firworks they come looking for you.
-
fireworks have been banned in my county for the past 2 years. stores can only sell the fountains, sparklers etc. basically anything that doesn't leave the ground... my town is very small though, and the neighboring county line is a 2 minute drive down the road. so it is very easy to get access to REAL fireworks. they are illegal, but cops say, as long as they are set off ON 4th of july ONLY and safely, (not being stupid or dangerous) they can't arrest everyone.
-
i miss sparklers
fireworks are banned iny town as well but we still manage to get around the rules somehow
-
Its fun but i see no use for fire crackers!
-
That's so sad :( I think that our town still lets people shoot off fireworks. But thankfully for me people do not shoot off as many fireworks because they can get a little annoying after a few hours.
-
I also love fireworks and setting them off myself, however there were a few instances this year where ppl got hurt from idiots shooting off fireworks. One was a whole fireworks stand going off by the road and I think some poor couple coming out a bar across the road got burned. The other was some high school kid setting off the mortar kind didn't have it properly settled and it fell over and nearly blew up a six year old. Missed by a matter over 6 inches or so, he has burns too. While I'm all about freedom and having fun myself, I would give up the right to keep other idiots away from dangerous implements.
