Title: Have you never been mellow? Have you ever been homeless?
Post by: fc2 on July 15, 2012, 08:22:56 pm
I've been homeless and let me tell you it's an eye opener. I've stayed in various churches and even at a police station lobby. Slept at a campground area as well. Wasn't to bad. I feel like I have a true testimony to life and a bit like Art Linkletter, the rags to riches millionaire. FusionCash.net was there to help pick my spirit up too.

yep, me and 4 kids. things were a bit shaky for awhile.  Then a friend and I got together and put a roof over my kids heads and even though the situation wasn't exactly what I wanted it worked.  I am very thankful to my friend and I thank God for him

That's a fabulous story and real life experience. Thanks tjshorty for sharing and am glad to add you to my FusionCash.net Buddy List. Homelessness does have its good points. It gave me alot of time to myself to think and thank. If more wealthy folks lived in a homeless atmosphere for awhile they'd be less apt to discriminate and hate others that experience being without a home of their own.

My son and i came close once, but i gritted my teeth and worked 2 jobs, we ate a lot of beans and rice, but through the grace of GOD and hard work we came through just fine. I feel for those that feel as if they have no choice, but there is help out there all they have too do is ask for it. I did a lot of work through the united way  and helped deliver food to a homeless shelter and sometimes even helped in the kitchen. My boss where i worked was generous with my time, when it came to doing community work. My other boss gave a lot of food (by the cases) to the homeless shelter and let me have the time off to deliver. Enjoyed doing it.When you give you recieve.

... but through the grace of GOD and hard work we came through just fine.

There's no need for the false attribution to a hypothetical supernatural entity when it was your hard work and nothing more.  The vague "grace of g-d" religious belief has no evidentiary basis and is therefore specious.

Life was always a struggle financial wise but never been homeless. Our winters are too cold to get in that position.

I was kicked out of my house at age eighteen.  I lived in my car for two weeks and then slept in a closet at one of the companies that I worked at for several months.  I spet my rent money on college and eventually saved up enough to get a small one bedroom apartment.  Two years later I saved enough for a downpayment on an all brick 1929 duplex.  The upstairs tenants who had been there for ten years, paid enough rent to pay for all but fifty dollars of the mortgage payment.  I got a room mate to pay me three hundred dollars per month...nice little profit.

Good for you and your blessed financial focus at that homeless moment in your experience. A majority of homeless focus aren't financially focused nor have the opportune talents and gifts you testify to. So, they end up chronically homeless in these here United States.  :dontknow:

I am bless to say I have never been homeless, but I work at a Shelter for homeless women with children and I have worked at a all men shelter so I feel you.  God blessed you so you can be a blessing to someone else, so bless someone today.

God bless the homeless and homeless shelters. Unless fortunate wealthy people have been there and lived homeless at a shelter I'd not recommend that anyone label homeless persons as 'mentally ill, narcotic drug users/sellers, and many other negative words directed at the less fortunate in America. I've met many 'sober' and hard working homeless persons in my homelessness years ago. Fusioncash was a life line and life preserver there for me while I was homeless and in the waters of humility on the streets. Thank Fusioncash advertisements  By the way, I was a "SOBER" homeless person many years ago   and I didn't condemn nor judge other homeless persons I was residing with, nor did I verbally put them down to keep them down in society. I was right there praying with them and I'm a better human being for that  :angel11: Bless and thank God's many Names  ;D

I have been homeless and had to sleep on friends couches and stayed in my van a few nights until we could find homes for our 2 dogs. Once you have had that experience you will never let yourself get that way again.
