Do the one word answers count toward the posting bonus if we are playing the word and number games?

I don't think they do, but It's just my guess, because I absolutely don't know for sure. I wish I was wrong, but I think that although the one or two word posts are recreational to the game or thread, they are not contributory to the community per se. So I'd say they don't count, the same way that posts in the Contest and Promotion section don't count towards posting bonus. Nonetheless, I still play or participate in those threads/games, for the fun of it, regardless if they count or not. If you keep track of your posts for the bonus, however, remember those that don't count, and I would exclude the one or two, even three word posts, until someone very knowledgeable will either confirm or deny it.

Any post in the Contest and Promotion sections (whether a response to a game requirement or a thank you for winnings) doesn't count for the 30 post requirements.
Any response to a number or work game in the "Other Topics" section is possible, but just as probable that it won't.
To meet the 30 posting requirement, the post must provide some value (ie be meaningful) to the readers and/or the poster. It could be argued that the word and numbers games provide some value to the membership -- gives them an opportunity to have fun or provide some humor.
I wouldn't want my posting bonus to rely on these types of posts to fill out my 30 required posts.

"To that end, we're offering a bonus of $3 each month you make 30 or more contributory posts in the forum."
"A contributory post is one that offers some insight, makes people laugh, carries a conversation, provides information or help, or something along those lines. It's not spam, or an attempt to make money for oneself, and it's not short or missing content. Basically, if you post just to meet the 30 post requirement, you wont qualify."

No, which is why I question why people start those counting games because it doesn't count towards your bonus.

Personally, those word/number games are really ridiculous to me. I mean, put some effort in for your $3. It doesn't take a lot of time to write a thoughtful response/post. At all. I just did this one in 6 seconds.

FYI -
Most people do those word/number game posts IN ADDITION to others they have posted, and they post in the game post threads JUST FOR FUN!

your posting bonus has to have at least a couple sentences and has to have meaning so even if it counted on your counter for the amount you have posted fusion cash would reject that as a post and you won't get credit for the month.

Posts in this subforum do not count towards the forum posting bonus requirement.
Enjoy participating in the word chains, etc as a fun outlet, but do not rely on your one word posts/answers to those types of topics to count toward your 30 meaningful posts per month for the $3 Forum Posting Bonus.
