What amount of money would be too much to accept from a stranger?
-
Too much...
- Before I start getting suspicious?
- Before I feel like a dirty beggar?
- Or before I refuse?
It would probably make me dubious if anyone I didn't know gave me more than $50.
I would probably refuse if anyone gave me more than about $10 unless I really needed it, so I guess it depends.

I wouldn't feel comfortable taking over 100 Trillion Dollars from any person... it just wouldn't seem right.
-
I would not accept any money from a stranger. Why should I?
-
I most likely wouldn't take anymoney from a stranger but would really defianately not accept anything over 10 unless I hada real emergency  :peace:

There are not enough "zeros" for me to turn an amount of money down. :bootyshake:

It depends on the situation. Why would a stranger give me money? If I was in a situation where I came up short for a purchase and someone gave me money to cover it, I'd accept. But then I'd make sure to pay it forward somehow. Otherwise, I wouldn't take any money from a stranger. That just seems weird.

It does seem weird to accept money from a stranger. I guess I'd say anything more than $1 is too much? Because I agree with lizandhobbes about being short on a purchase and someone covering for me, but this usually only happens with a couple coins.

There was a guy here in the Kansas City area who for years got dressed up as Santa and went around giving strangers $100. He has since passed away but others have continued his practice. In all the years I watched news stories about our secret Santa, there was never one about someone turning the money down :)

I think it all depends on the circumstances, for instance someone like me that does not have any credits cards and travels with only bare minimum cash, if my car broke down and I could not afford the repair at the time I would consider letting someone give me the money for the repairs. I would then do that for another person to show the same kindness that was shown to me.

I would never take money from a stranger. If i had a real emergency I would seek out my family first, and if my family was not helpful, then i would consider that.

But you would not cover someone's purchase that came up short unless someone did the same for you and you felt indebted to "pay it forward"?
This "pay it froward" thing sounded all right at first, but now it is getting to the point where it doesn't make sense.
I hope I read your post wrong. :dontknow:

Accept for what? Is a stranger just going to walk up and give me money for no reason? I'll take whatever anyone has to give me.
-
it is known that some of the cash that is handle in local stores, restaurants, banks, ect has cocaine residue. So just keeping that in consideration would not even deter me from accepting large amounts of cash for free.

If free money is given to you, why refuse it?
-
I wouldn't turn any amount of money away. I would be thankful.
