Title: Bring some sunshine into your life
Post by: lorettahknox on September 08, 2012, 08:25:00 am
There are many things you can do to brighten up your life. I think a good DIY hobby is a really good way. My favorite is gardening. I find having an environment filled with flowers and plants make a person very cheerful and it contributes to a beautiful home. I also like decorating. It too is a lot of fun. What's your favorite?

To bring some freshness into my day I like fresh/good smells: either candles, flowers or baking.

I love a quiet place in the woods by a stream or lake, where the only thing you hear is nature.

Give me a quiet place (away from people) and my kind of music. They transform me to a happy place instantly. The music is dependent on the mood at the time.

Do not forget: You are the sunshine of my life, The Sunshine State, The Sunshine Band and many other happy sun-shines.

If I'm reading or doing some sort of handwork while listening to music--I'm happy.    ;)

I like being in my house when its clean and I like painting.  Today's sunshine came when my 3 year old whispered "Mommy, why are you sooo nice!"  ;D

i definitely need to find a hobby to pass the time and give me something to learn and enjoy. I am too stressed and depressed lately and can't wait to get a new job and regular hours with weekends off and I can go out and enjoy myself and spend time with friends or family or doing something I enjoy! I need some sunshine in my life right now and I am trying to let it shine!

are you being cynical about the post, or are you just sharing
your own ''sunshine'' ? just wondering  :)

i think it's interesting that sunshine is a metaphor for ''good things,''
because i prefer rain storms and cloudy days. they make me happier
than sunny ones, but putting a little rain in my one's life just doesn't
right. haha.

anyway! doing anything creative makes me happy. re-purposing
furniture, crafting jewelry and wreathes, decorating... etc.

It was partially sardonic and partly pragmatic.  Though I find it interesting that the 'negative ions' of a good thunderstorm generally have me feeling much better than solar radiation does.  Obviously, personal preferences vary, (hence this thread).

Spending time with positive people is a must. When you have Debby Downers around you, they only help bring you further down! Good advice everyone!

A clean house, scented candles, a few throw pillows to get comfy on, a fulfilling yet light snack, and a good book.
