Not I. I'm looking forward to dressing my son up in some wild costume of his choosing and going trick or treat in the neighborhood of my brother. His area where he lives have a few things going on that should delight my son and will intrigue me with the delight of how far they go to scare me with the decorations. I enjoy someone jumping out of a hidden area with ugly teeth and scary sounds. lol only on Halloween though cause any other time would just have me kick someone in the genital area and run like crazy. LOL

This is one Holiday I do not like, I call it the devil holiday, but kids love it I guess because of the candy.

That's because you're a bigoted xtian fundie. Satanism is mostly inverted xtianity and there's no 'devil worship' involved in most all hallows eve celebrations.

It was originally a pagan observation of Samhain, known by most folks as Halloween. For Wiccans and Pagans it's considered a Sabbat to honor the ancestors who came before.

As a kid, I went trick or treating. Now that I know more about it, I do not "celebrate" Halloween and my future kids won't be celebrating either.

I feel much the same way about "xmas", though for opposite reasons.

In the beginning of this day, Halloween. I guess the intention was to dress like a monster or reanimated corpse. In these modern days much more simple costumes has been worked into the scene, like a Doctor/nurse or a contstruction worker... .  In the past I have participated in the activity by dressing up and having fun with family and friends.

The children of religious bigots usually are, as well as turning up rebellious ... like, becoming satanists or something.

I AM!!!!!  :D  I go to UNC and I have heard and seen videos of people dressing up and going to Franklin Street (the street where all of the businesses are). I bet there will be tons of parties. A group of friends and I went to a thrift store Friday and were already gathering costume ideas.

We use to go all out and dressup and attend a big halloween party. We've aged and have grandchildren so all that has changed. We stay home and pass out candy.

What is "xtian" and "xtianity"?

"xtian: an abbreviation of 'christian'. Purported to have any number of derivations, such as from Latin, or because the letter resembles a cross, but the actual origin is from the greek letter beginning his name, chi, which is written similar to x."

Well, here where I live, I hardly see anymore decorations in the neighborhood. And no costume parties. I live in a Hasidic community, so they do not celebrate Halloween. I do and maybe a few others. Thats it. No more children trick or treating in the area like it was years ago. It is sad. Even around Christmas, there are no decorations. It is dark and dull and quiet. I never remembered a holiday season like that years ago. It is sad and depressed in my area. But I deal with it the best I can.

I always had a birthday party on Halloween because my youngest was born on that day. We would decorate and let the children dress up if they wanted to.

I like doing the sexy costumes. I hadn't started looking for this year. Last year i was Pocahontas. The name of the costume was a little different but you can read between the lines and figure it out! LOL  Its a fun time of year for the kids and adults. I look forward to it.

I commented here a few days ago, but I'm also looking forward to CANDY! I'm too old to trick-or-treat (I don't know where I would go on campus to anyway) but people are bound to be giving candy away somewhere.

When I was a kid Halloween was fun and I enjoyed it very much. Now I just find it kinda irritating. It's always cold and I worry about my sons eating so much candy. I don't like it when they eat a lot of junk. I always end up being the bad guy when I go through the candy and throw most of it away.  :dontknow:
