Title: taxes

i have done elder care all year for a lady for 15 a day she informed me today she plans on filing me on taxes i havent claimed it even on my social services assistance will i get in trouble,if she claims the money she has paid me

wow i hope not i go to ear specialist tomorrow have had ear pain for about a month

Yes, I'm sure you'll get into trouble.  If I were you I would claim it on this year's 1040.  There is a chance you won't get caught, but what if you do?

most definitely, the govt doesnt play when it comes to money you owe them.  i would file it on your 1040.

it is usually only 30 or 40 a week so i didnt claim it as a favor for 12 hour days it doesnt even pay my phone bill,how much trouble can i get in it besides maybe 40 dollars a week  for stuffing envelopes is the only income my family of 4 has

Do what you want....but I had a friend years ago who was a CNA (private duty) and was paid (like you), under the table.  Long story short.....she got caught, had to pay back taxes and huge penalty.  You never know who might report you to the IRS, or if they find out on their own.

Just my two cents, but it's probably not the best idea to post on the Internet about money you are earning and not telling the government about.
