Whats so wrong with a person believing in God.. It's our own personal right as an American to have freedom of religion. If a person chooses to believe in God and there is a GOd after all they will see heaven. If there isn't a god and the believer dies he's in the same boat as you.. What does it hurt to be spiritual? It causes no harm to anyone. It should be up to the individual how he see's things. Live and let live......................THIS I just found on another site..KUDOS!!

Anyone has same the option to hold religious beliefs as to not hold them. Once such personal beliefs, (or lack thereof), are made public in a publically-available venue, they are open to dissenting viewpoints. There is no 'free pass' of unopposed proselytizing of superstitions. There are at least two ways to avoid dissenting opposition to religious superstitious beliefs here; don't make them public or, use FC's ignore function.

Like I said, there's no free pass for religious proselytization, (which is what was posted). To reiterate the other point; the same option to hold irrational superstitious religious beliefs exists alongside the option not to. There's no obvious way to discern either unless someone propagandizing religious beliefs gets a reasoned dissent in response.

You're repeating yourself, which means you're ignoring the answer to a question you asked. The question wasn't inherently rhetorical, (instead of being merely ignorant), because history has shown many things "wrong with a person believing in g-d". These range from the crusades, witch hunts and Ku Klux Klan through the Westboro baptists. I'll continue to oopose such superstitious nonsense as long as the self-deluded blind-faithers keep promoting it.
THEN WHY DONT YOU PRESS THE IGNOR BUTTON HMMMMMMM

Whether, you see it or not, you too are repeating yourself. Maybe ou should take some of your own advice and make use of the ignore button, but judging by the amount of time you spend on this forum opposing our views, you have nothing better to do. We all know your opinion and it's getting old.

I don't care what people believe in as it is their own right. As long as people do not try to push their beliefs onto me I am ok with it. Who am I to say what people can or can't believe in?

Maybe you should think about the fact that those of us that do not "believe" are sick of the following things :
1. Having :bs: religious views and nonsense crammed down our throats and shoved in our face.
2. Living in a society that puts fairy tales above logic.
3. Being held back by the masses clinging to religion rather the doing and thinking for themselves to further mankind.
-
The only difference is that if someone started a topic saying they DONT believe, I wouldn't be so rude to jump down their throat and say otherwise...hey it's their choice to believe or not!!...........Falcon with a 9 cant just leave things alone :dontknow:........and yes it is getting old!!

What is way old and tiresome is bible babble. It is old, outdated, and false. We have every right to stand up for reason, logic and science.

Any repetitions perceived are in response to oft-repeated religious propaganda being posted FIRST, (that's what makes responses, responses).
Maybe ou should take some of your own advice and make use of the ignore button ...
Doubtless you faith-blinded superstitious 'believers' would prefer such censorship however, that would defeat the purpose of opposing religious superstitions endlessly posted on a forum where such is irrelevant to the purpose of the site.
... but judging by the amount of time you spend on this forum opposing our views, you have nothing better to do. We all know your opinion and it's getting old.
The specious religious opinions exemplified by the repetitious reposting of them is older than any current dissenting viewpoints. Apparently, those blinded by empty faith have nothing better to do than to keep droning such religious propaganda on a site unrelated to religious superstitions.

Exactly so. These faith-blinded religious adherents are apparently unable to *see* that difference and instead, are relying upon endless repetitions of their superstitions, (e.g., 'flooding' with nonsense in the forlorn hope of overwhelming reason with irrationality).
-
Once again, there's no 'free pass' to having religious propaganda posted unopposed. Such continued insistance proposing to censor opposing viewpoints is both obnoxious and tedious. It isn't going to happen; if the faith-blinded choose to post their baseless beliefs, those who dissent may choose to post in opposition to irrational superstition. Calling dissenting viewpoints "rude" is hypocritical since those viewpoints are in response to the initially-posted "rude" religious superstitions spouted over and over again.
And those who BELIEVE have every right to say that they BELIEVE and shouldnt have such RUDE people say otherwise!!

A simple-minded 'insult' in lieu of an actual rebuttal in context doesn't insult the one it was aimed at; it insults the one flinging it like monkey crap.

You may have zeroed-in on the essence of the matter, David. Lonely, frightened children will sometimes invent imaginary friends too. Some of them outgrow such things and some become holders of blind religious faith as a poor substitute.

That's right, they've invented an 'imaginary' foe to flail against as well.

i Do believe in god, and am not afraid to admit it on any public forum. i also believe that anyone has the right to believe in whatever it is they want to believe. i have no problem with anyone posting the daily bible verses, nor would i have a problem with anyone posting things such as wiccan blessings. its their right. if i dont agree with what is posted, i simply dont comment on it. what i dont understand is why everyone complains about people disagreeing and continuing to argue with them over and over. it amazes me that people tell someone, such as falcon9 (no i'm not defending anything he posts, to be honest i seldom even read it) to ignore what they post ...yet they continue to argue with him over and over about how wrong he is. would it not be easier to actually just accept that they dont believe as you do and not argue with them? just fighting back is egging the others on and really does no one any good. so much easier to agree to disagree and not stress yourself out. instead of trying to convince someone you dislike to ignore your post, just ignore theirs and everyone is happy :)

We live in the United States and we have freedom of religion. It's up to each one of us to decide whether we believe or not, and what religion we choose to participate in (if we believe). We also must be tolerant of those who's beliefs are different from ours, whether they believe or not. I do not judge you on your beliefs and hope you do not judge mine if they are not the same as yours. As long as we are not hurting each other, what does it matter?

You've already made it abundantly clear that you fail to discern the actual sequence of events, (which are, in fact, archived), therefore, I fully expect that you've also 'forgotten' that you began the name-calling because you had no cognizant response.

Religion does in fact harm others. You have nothing to hide behind.

Given the crusades, witch hunts, Westboro baptists and numerous other 'fine' examples of the manifested effects of religious superstitions of "hurting"/killing others, I do judge such specious "beliefs", (e.g., that which lacks any evidentiary basis). Attempts by religious adherents to distance themelves from the same belief systems which lead to those attrocities is a self-deceptive avoidance tactic.

"What if you could read minds? What if you knew the winning lottery numbers one day early? What if you could live forever? What if you were breathing your last breath right now? What if you had already eaten your last meal? What if you had your conscience for a reason? What if you knew what the reason was? What if it were a beacon - a warning of an impending doom? What if justice were not corrupt, but something true something eternal? What if the standard for life were a perfect Law you already knew? What if in the stillness of a silent moment you knew you had broken that Law?
What if life is really a test, a series of choices, in which only one choice really matters? What if we ignore the inner warning light which pulses when we lie, steal and lust? What if even our hatred is counted as murder? What if pain and pleasure are only shadows of greater sensations to come? What if there is a Heaven? What if there is a Hell? What if there is a just Judge who knows even our thoughts? What if He holds us accountable for every thought, word and deed? What if our idea of justice is only a shadow of something coming - where the prison times are eternal and no bond can be posted once the sentence is passed? What if death is the fine for breaking an eternal Law? What if someone paid that fine for you? What if Jesus Christ is that person? What if He defeated death by rising from the dead? What if you could turn from your sin, put your faith in Him and live? What if He gave you your conscience to point you to Him?"

It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace
You, you may say
I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people sharing all the world
You, you may say
I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will live as one"

In case of zombie apocalypse break glass for blunt object. Is That better?
In many regards, such faith-blinded adherents are already the "walking dead", (sharing many commonalities), they just can't admit it because of the cognitive dissonance that would engender.
-
What if He defeated death by rising from the dead?
Then he'd be a zombie. Much as his mindless followers are trying to emulate while still technically alive, yet mind-blinded by empty superstitious 'faith'.
-
Hey cups i'm starting to believe what is being said about you now, I thought you were semi decent, what a dissapointment

Hmm now I want to play Dead Island again. I love that game lol!

If you want to believe in God, that's fine, just don't push your beliefs onto myself and others.

I haven't played that one in quite awhile, (unless you count refuting xtian nonsense as being equivalent). :o

I concur however, the religious adherents reposting their proselytizings are attempting to "push" their beliefs through sheer flooding.

What is good for the goose is certainly good for the gander honey.
-
They aren't even close to being equivalent. Yours attempts to impose irrational superstitious beliefs, my opposition encourages rational thought. That makes the positions polar opposites. If one wants to purchase groceries, one doesn't go to a tire store. In the same manner, irrational thought processes lead to poor decision-making.

i totally agree i get harrased all the time for praying going to church and i dont ever try to push it on anyone either

If your superstitious beliefs have left the confines of your own skull, you've "pushed" them at others, (even if unwittingly).

It did look lame when advertised on AMC, (then again, so are the religious zombies). The parallels are striking, (except that the fictional zombies stay down if they take a double-tap to the noggin).

Whats so wrong with a person believing in God.. It's our own personal right as an American to have freedom of religion.
Absolutely
If a person chooses to believe in God and there is a GOd after all they will see heaven. If there isn't a god and the believer dies he's in the same boat as you..
Look up "Pascals Wager". You're assuming that the god you chose is the right one. There are thousands of gods; who says you picked the right one?
What does it hurt to be spiritual? It causes no harm to anyone. It should be up to the individual how he see's things. Live and let live......................THIS I just found on another site..KUDOS!!
The problem is the religious don't live and let live. They instead fly planes into buildings and bomb clinics and ignore history and science and try to force their beliefs on others. That's the harm. That's the hurt. If you actually just believed in what you believed and just left others alone, there'd be no problem. That's just not the case.
Stop trying to hurl it on to us like we've done something to you. Stop ignoring everytime the religious try to force their beliefs on others and you'll see why we constantly speak up.
-

I couldn't agree more ! Perhaps it is why I love zombie games. I adore the Resident Evil games but I am not soo hot on the movies. I do love an assortment of zombie movies though. I have plans to attend the "Run For Your Life" zombie 5k next year ! http://runforyourlives.com/
Any way I have to go bake cupcakes for cupcakes for cancer !

Both are worthy causes and you've probably inspired some of us to do the zombie 5K when it comes to our area. I found this excerpt to be particularly amusing:
-"Before the race, you will be given a flag belt, just like the overly intimidating game of flag football. These flags represent your health.
-The zombies want to take your flags and maybe eat your brains.
-If you lose all your health flags, you are infected with the zombie virus, and the zombies win."

Obviously, your contention is false since the entire exchange was requoted, including her replies. Given your apptitude for being a xtian 'zombie', consider participating in http://runforyourlives.com/ (it's for a good cause and as a bonus, you probably not require any make-up).

Right, like I'm going to click on a link you post falcon, it's probably a virus
If you were paying attention, (instead of stumbling through posts like a 'zombie'), you'd have noticed that "cuppycake" posted the Zombie Run For Your Life charity fundraiser link that I reposted. Though it was unintentially humorous of you to imply it was a "virus" since it regards faux-zombies.

It's in this thread, one need only scroll down a few posts to find it - unless one is a blind zombie.
refresh, I wasnt paying attention to ANYTHING cakes says because she doesnt matter
You rarely appear to pay attention, whether that ADHD or simple airheadedness isn't entirely clear here. In any case, posting malicious virus links is prohibited and falsely accusing another member of doing so is an outright lie. I wasn't previously aware that 'zombies' could lie but, you've been providing sufficient evidence to be convincing.
-
So you're now making fun of people with ADHD? what a guy............NOT....whos to say that I would click on it and then you delete the evidence, I couldnt trust you as far as I could throw you...you talk to weird
-
Oh and Falcon, your friend DUROZ said hello to you, stop being rude/ignorant and at least say hi back to her/him
-
So you're now making fun of people with ADHD?
No, as I stated, 'You rarely appear to pay attention, whether that ADHD or simple airheadedness isn't entirely clear here.' That shows I'm not sure whether you're simply an airhead or, have ADHD.
...whos to say that I would click on it and then you delete the evidence, I couldnt trust you as far as I could throw you...
That's an irrelevant and irrational fear since I didn't post the link initially and cannot delete another's post. Your false accusation remains as an overt lie and that makes you a liar however.
-
OMG your on that liar kick again, so be it...I hear your girlfriend calling you, run falcon run...I feel bad for your girlfriend, you spend more time on here then with her it seems, shame on you

-
OMG your on that liar kick again, so be it...I hear your girlfriend calling you, run falcon run...I feel bad for your girlfriend, you spend more time on here then with her it seems, shame on you
My girlfriend, (having been previously advised that I'm refuting xtian 'zombies'), merely remarked that you cannot reason with the 'walking braindead'. She also chuckled but, not at the part where you falsely accused me, (and "CuppyCake"), of posting a malicious link - that's your lie, live with it. Denying it only adds another lie to your archived previous lie.
-
LOL I like the way you copy and paste after the fact...where is that original message to DUROZ??????......REMEMBER i'm an airhead with ADHD I dont see it..I was born at night but not last night
-

It's carefully 'hidden' in plain sight, two posts down-thread. Why would you care whether I posted to "duroz" or not, surely you're not jealous because I have friends?

No, facebook is as virus-ridden as a bible.
YA YA YA, but do you have a FB?
-
I cant believe that there are so many non- believers of GOD. Lets face it. It was not i or them who created Earth. Keep on believing and being Spiritual sister. I'm with you!
-
No, facebook is as virus-ridden as a bible.
YA YA YA, but do you have a FB?
OK, sorry but your not a weirdo just a wacko...hey I say it as I see it tot tot tot
-
The number of self-deluded holders of blind religious faith is more astounding than those who eschew such superstitions, given the ability to reason, (or its suppression by blind faith).
I cant believe that there are so many non- believers of GOD. Lets face it. It was not i or them who created Earth. Keep on believing and being Spiritual sister. I'm with you!

So now not having a facebook account makes someone a "wacko", and this from a self-deluded holder of blind faith? That's indeed ironic.
OK, sorry but your not a weirdo just a wacko...hey I say it as I see it tot tot tot

Gee Falcon 9 you have a girlfriend. I thought you were so into yourself you didn't need any body. I still believe in God and you are none of your other friends can change my mind.
-
Isn't Freedom of Speech grand? It affords you the right to believe how you wish and voice your opinion about it. What I personally can't stand from Believers and Non-Believers alike is when they try to FORCE their beliefs on YOU. That's when you better step back, Jack. :)
-
Your admission to being blinded by faith is a non sequitur.

The cognizant difference being that "believers" are trying to "force" their supertitious religious beliefs onto others through sheer repetition, whereas I'm aware that the ability to reason logically cannot be forced but, must be chosen more freely than being mind-blinded by specious religious beliefs.

i think people have a problem with the over-religious people, like the ones who are actively against gays and such. i have no problem with people who believe as long as they don't bother me about their religion.
-

That's the essence of the disputed point; the 'overly-religious' adherents are "g-d botherers" proselytizing their superstitious religious beliefs by incessantly posting them, (when they have the option of keeping such to themselves and avoiding dissenting points of view).
-

You're a complete air-head and your command of the English language is deplorable. Are you 12 years old or did you just arrive in this country? On the other hand, maybe you're writing your posts from some undeveloped 3rd world country.
In any case, I wish you the best of success as you continue in your efforts to learn the English language.

People are very unsure on whether they should believe in "God" or not but that is an act of faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. We inhale trusting that their is air for us to breathe. That is something that we just "do". We can not "see" the air but we inhale anyway. So I'm comparing that to believing in God, although we can not see Him we can trust that He is there and that He is real just like the air we breathe.
-
People are very unsure on whether they should believe in "God" or not but that is an act of faith.
I'm certain that I have no blind faith in some deital superstition, sans evidence. "An act of faith" is precisely equivalent to blind 'trust' or, belief i something which expressly lacks supporting evidence. This is an irrational basis upon which to rest an equally irrational conclusion.

That's a false parallel since there is extant evidence that the "unseen air" is detectable in alternate and verifiable ways than sight. Such faux 'reasoning' does not extrapolate to equating detectable air with an undetectable 'g-d', (and falsely attributing anything or everything to such an undectable 'g-d' without evidence supporting such attributions other than blind faith is circular non-reasoning which does not hold water). In short, your reasoning is shown to be illogical and thus, faulty and that invalidates both your premise and the false conclusion drawn from it.

I like your comment. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Such an agreement is not surprising in one so faithfully-blind that they probably carry a red-tipped cane.

FB has been infected with virii for some time now, so have the various 'bibles', (albeit with a different sort of malicious 'mind-virii').
...for saying this...............facebook is as virus-ridden as a bible.
well i've been on FB now for a couple of years now and NEVER had a problem, maybe someone doesn't like you on there to!!
You're a complete air-head and your command of the English language is deplorable. Are you 12 years old or did you just arrive in this country? On the other hand, maybe you're writing your posts from some undeveloped 3rd world country.
In any case, I wish you the best of success as you continue in your efforts to learn the English language.
Why thank you, thank you very much :)

ay to falcon and cuppycakes... you r wack! but let me start off with saying i dont believe in any god besides myself in a sense...
ill tell you why too in my opinion...
ive read alot of your posts to christians... and ill say you dont know the story and context of the bible 100% you may know the basic outline but if you are going to put other ppl down shouldn't you completely know what your talking about? have you heard christian pastors give their interpertations and have u heard or read the entire thing? i don't think so
also heres a good point... u go around here like u two are smarter then everyone else cus you dont believe... well think about this is the world around you is so stupid couldnt it of been made the stupid god they worship???
if ppl can be stupid why cant their be a stupid god who thinks he is right and made this place?
if u look at the evidence there was something that was eternal never created.... either the universe or a god or something... now if you cant prove yours and you cant disprove the other why do you keep going on?
you dont know that is not false!!! but you may see stupid points in it and go ahead and point those out...
but i can show you tons of stupid things about presidents but that dont make them leave the office or make them not real
you r no bettr then any of the ppl u put down... they r trying to be nice ppl for the most part nd u can nicely share it with them if you think its wrong... but u sound so ignorant acting like u r right when you go no proof... your fing science is all theories pretty much!!! and dont u think religious is like that too ppl didnt come up with these stories out of nowhere... its from what they observed and felt... u r the ones on like every thread cramming ur beliefs down ppls throats... they dont go and talk to you two from what ive seen... u go and talk to them... if u left them alone i doubt theyd be talking to u
lol talk about not knowing what ones talking abou,t now this what you wrote really cracks me up, I needed the laugh thanks...FYI PSSST I simply started a topic and low in behold as I knew ALLLLLLLLLL along Falcon would jump allllllll over it like white on rice, HE came to MY topic...next time say something when you actually know what you're talking about geezzzzzzzzzz

ay to falcon and cuppycakes... you r wack!
Wow, the uneducated opinion of a semi-literate wingnut deals as devastating a blow as a wounded gnat on downers. However, in the interest of having irrationality go head-to-head with rationality, let's see what else you've got.
but let me start off with saying i dont believe in any god besides myself in a sense...
ill tell you why too in my opinion...
Well, after scrolling down your post to see where you go on to tell us why you believe that you're "g-d in a sense", the nearest applicable explanation you gave was "if ppl can be stupid why cant their be a stupid god who thinks he is right ..." So, what you're saying there is that, since you're stupid, you've posited a stupid 'g-d' and it's you. Facinating theory; of course there's no evidence to support extrapolating your personal stupidity onto either a stupid or intelligent supernatural entity. That would be a false generalization and anthropomorphistic, (attempt to personify any attribution of human characteristics). Then you added some pseudo-angelomorphism, (a human being appearing in the form of an angel/divine being). It's not clear whether or not you're claiming to be "Koalemos", the Greek 'g-d' of stupidity.
ive read alot of your posts to christians... and ill say you dont know the story and context of the bible 100% you may know the basic outline but if you are going to put other ppl down shouldn't you completely know what your talking about?
My guess would be that you may have read some of the responses posted to xtians but, haven't understood a significant percentage of the content posted in reply to bible-thumping quotes. The context of the jumbled fictions and platitudes of the various 'bibles' consists of the general ignorance of the writers from 2,000 or less years ago, pervasive superstitions of the time period, fear and a mix of plagiarisms. Anything coming out of the combination of those main unerlying factors will result in a hodge-podge of mythological fiction which absolutely requires acceptance on the basis of blind faith alone, (eschewing an evidentiary basis altogether because hey, there doesn't seem to be any valid evidence to support faith-based religious claims).
... u go around here like u two are smarter then everyone else cus you dont believe...
No, I "go around here" posting that irrationality isn't "smarter" than rationality and there are volumes of evidence to support such a contention, (whereas there is no valid evidence to support a contention that irrationality is "smarter" than rationality). Belief, (or 'faith'), without evidence is irrational and not "smarter" than rational evidence, (which requires no faith/belief in the functionality of evidence).
well think about this is the world around you is so stupid couldnt it of been made the stupid god they worship???
if ppl can be stupid why cant their be a stupid god who thinks he is right and made this place?
Thusfar, you're the first I'm aware of to suggest that "koalemos", (greek g-d of stupidity), stupidly made everything stupid, (in 'his' image). Like I said, it's a facinating non-theory that lacks supporting evidence, (namely because there are people more intelligent than some stupid ones extant and, what is truly stupid is largely nonfunctional).
if u look at the evidence there was something that was eternal never created....
Exactly what "evidence" are you vaguely referring to? If you're going to falsely attribute things without supporting evidence itself, don't bother. That's would just be building illusions upon delusions. Your a priori assumption that "there was something that was eternal never created" is a speculation which lacks evidence to support it.
... you cant disprove the other why do you keep going on? you dont know that is not false!!! ... but u sound so ignorant acting like u r right when you go no proof...
Those who repeat that common logical fallacy have no understanding of the burden of proof requirement. Others are not required to 'disprove' specious claims made; those who make the initial claim are constrained by the burden of proof requirement to support their claim with evidence, (although if the challenger does have evidence which would invalidate the claimant's initial claim, they can present it if they choose to).
but you may see stupid points in it and go ahead and point those out...
Thanks for the unneeded 'permission' to do so, anticipating your okay in this regard, I proceded anyway.
and dont u think religious is like that too ppl didnt come up with these stories out of nowhere... its from what they observed and felt...
No one said those "stories" came out of nowhere. It's been mentioned that they arose out of fear, jumbled fictions and platitudes stemming from the general ignorance of the writers from 2,000 or less years ago, pervasive superstitions of the time period, fear and a mix of plagiarisms.

I understand what you are saying but that is a two way street. I think we should also use the live and let live theory when thinking about people who don't believe in god.

preach it sister ;D

That would defeat the intended purpose of "the live and let live theory when thinking about people who don't believe in god" philosophy proposed, fundie.

It's already been said that if you could reason with those miserable people holding religious blind faith, there wouldn't be any."
