I went for my army physical in 1969/70 and passed with flying colors.Fortunately president Nixon had a birthday lottery going on and mine fell far enuff down that i didnt get drafted and have to worry about going to the sad and dumb Vietnam war.
I also know some that got dis-honorably discharged and then have the nerve to call others cowards that didnt serve.They dont know the difference between honor or dis-honor.

Yes, my husband was in the Vietnam War. He was an MP in Okinawa, which he said was almost as bad as being in the war. He was honorably discharged, and I have NEVER heard him call anyone a coward. You have no reason to feel badly. Some people can only feel good about themselves when they knock someone else down.

No, it was illegal to dodge the draft and those who objected either tried to dodge it, got drafted anyway as a conscientious objector or got a college deferment.

You've already posted that you'd kill to defend your own family, (not as a military serviceman) but, wouldn't kill to defend the country your family lives in as a military serviceman. So in some ways we are alike in that respect.....only difference is i have discerned there is a TRUE God that cares about mankind and has explained to us why this world is the way it is....and i would like to live forever in a paradisic peaceful world forever.

He is being a stickler and sucking up to FC moderators etc how hes doing everything by the book blah blah.Its so obvious.Then he likes to throw up to my face about my suspention a few months back which FC told me was for name calling.Imagine he gets away with it and i didnt LOL.But that fine...FC honored my $3 posting for that month and my account is in good standing and i will admit in the heat of the battle and the entertainment i probably was wrong in the name calling then.
I support Gods organization and the bible but i am still a sinner.Anyway,i cant write a post for 5 minutes without Falcon lurking or commenting on it so when i was suspended i am sure he was lost without me on forum...LOL!!!

I mean no offense, but have to speak my mind. I do not beleive the Vietnam War was dumb or useless. Someone I used to go to church with served in that war. He takes me to my doctors apiontments and tells me stories about the war on the way. He has been through tortor and saved a lot of lives while seeing a lot of lives lost. We may never know the great sacrifices of all Americans like these. I support those who serve. I have never been in myself, but I see the pictures and here the stories enough to know they deserve honor. A lot of people comming home from that war got spit on and disrespectfully treated. They went through great trials for us and then got shammed by us. Its not that those who didn't serve are cowards, but the ones who went and even willingly where couragious in my opinion. People who are antiAmerican should leave. As a Native American I also honor the Navajo code talkers. The code talkers avoided the foreign enemies by speaking Din'e (Navajo.) The foreigners where at a lost because they no longer knew what America was planning. Crazy horse is also a heroe of mine because after Cuturd caused his daughter to die he went, "crazy," and lead a lot of Native men into rebeling and trying to defend their land and set standards for settlers. I hate a lot of the damage done by the original settlers, but this is today. Those in the service of today are caucasian and Native along with other races that love the American people and fight for them. God bless America.

For a Christian, in order to worship God the Father, we go through Jesus Christ, His Son, who died on that cross for all sin, and He is now our mediator to God. When the death, burial, and resurrection happened, we merged into the New Law, or new Testament teachings.

Thanks for the history lesson. This part though is peculiar since the majority of xtian fundamentalists that I've debated with here have admitted to still following the OT law (even the ugly stuff). In your eyes, is this just a "pick and choose" what laws they like and dislike, are they secretly twisted and abide by all the sick laws, or are they supposed to just simply abandon the OT aside from the logical parts? Because I remember hearing some NT verses with this god saying xtians need to still apply the old law to their lives.

Thanks for the history lesson. This part though is peculiar since the majority of xtian fundamentalists that I've debated with here have admitted to still following the OT law (even the ugly stuff). In your eyes, is this just a "pick and choose" what laws they like and dislike, are they secretly twisted and abide by all the sick laws, or are they supposed to just simply abandon the OT aside from the logical parts? Because I remember hearing some NT verses with this god saying xtians need to still apply the old law to their lives.

As for the first part, the radical Islamists groups indeed live by the sick laws with the stoning, beheading, etc. I was mainly speaking of many of the groups like that from those same countries who tolerate no other religion or faith but their own. Their goal is to infiltrate the world until they are ready to take the final step and try to take over and rule by their own laws. Woe to those who will not accept their radical Islamist beliefs.

It was all right. Some good and bad stuff. I had a lot of fun traveling around the country and other countries doing different stuff and met a lot of cool people. I remember one time I was in Ireland with a few people from my platoon getting ready to go back to Iraq and a one or two (can't remember) star general came up to us and bought us all a round of drinks and joked with us for a few minutes.
The best story I have is probably a story of irony. My brother is in the infantry, and was also deployed to the same FOB I was at during the same time period. He was in a different unit, but his chu (housing unit) was about a five minute walk from mine on the base. So, I was able to visit him sometimes.
One day I was on the flatline getting ready for a mission to go train iraqi police officers in town. I was walking across it to toss this styrofoam coffee cup in the trash when some insurgents set up ontop of a hill outside the base and started firing and fired off either a RPG or rocket and people were yelling get down! I replied, what ever, and kept walking. Then, yelled back saying it's not like they ever hit anything anyway (they had terrible aim). The thing exploded about 50 or so yards to my left and few pieces of gravel from it pelted my face. I didn't think much of it, BUT later that day after I was done I was on duty at the prison on base checking insurgents that we had captured in for processing. They had to go through medical screening to make sure they were healthy and didn't get beaten or anything.
Apparently a few minutes after that rocket hit me, my brother was leaving the front gate to do a mission and those same insurgents attacked the front gate. One of them had a grenade and my brother tackled him and wrestled it away from him before he could throw it and it exploded. Now, they detained them for questioning for a few hours when they got to prison and dropped off the prisoners is when I first heard about the story. Two of the insurgents were brothers. One, was the guy who fired the rocket at me, and the other brother was the guy my brother tackled and disarmed a few minutes later. Now if that isn't irony, I don't what is. =-P
It eventually wore me down with the way soldiers became self-absorbed in trying to get promoted by making sure other people looked bad compared to them. I had a few females conspire to get rid of my platoon sgt, because he actually made them work. They said he sexually harassed them. So, he was transferred to another unit, and their friend, another female sgt was put in charge of my platoon. All she did the entire time we were in iraq is sit on yahoo chatting to people and let those two do recreational activities the entire deployment while rest of us actually did missions. She was awarded a bronze star at the end of the deployment even though she never left her computer or did one single mission. Stuff like that eventually made it so I didn't feel like re-enlisting to say in anymore. It's the same in the business world too. So, I don't have any delusions about that, but the military should be held to a higher standard. =-P

The original point was there are still commands to obey barbaric laws (in both ot and nt) when society has grown beyond it to see the major flaws in such reasonings. So your god creates man in his own image, realizes they're faulty, and then blames them for the problems caused in the world. Then he has his son come down and 'bail out' the faulty humans into thinking he died for them so they could be washed away of sin-- something originally caused by your god. Explain how that's logical w/o jumping into a weak mythos.
If Jesus is praised for his sacrifice, and yet he's sitting up next to his father in heaven with supernatural powers, how is that a sacrifice when all he did was die and then get transported back up into heaven where he sits powerfully? If anything, he gained more from his death-- with your beliefs in mind, he wasn't erased from existence or ceased-to-be. He's now super popular around the world and is up in heaven-- a place where your god resides! How is it a noble sacrifice when you go from a lesser being to an all-powerful being?

They were killed for no logical reason and therefore it cannot be viewed as a sacrifice. If you want to talk sacrifices, you have to talk about a resistance or people who helped others escape the camps.

That's a major contradiction. Perfect = without fault. Sin is obviously a fault, so therefore they were capable of fault and therefore imperfect. I suggest you do not attempt to redefine terms from this specific point. Though as it stands now, your reasoning here has a big flaw.

It still negates the meaning of perfection and thus is a major contradiction. If you're going to tell me achieving perfection has loopholes so you can not be perfect, then you will have to redefine the meaning of the word to fit in with your contradiction.

On the contrary- I'm the one using proper terminology and I've already explained the elementary contradiction you refuse to see. Perfection with flaws (or having the inability to reason out a flaw) is not perfection. Making an error or an unsound choice while in the state of perfection would mean you were never perfect in the first place. Even if you still can't wrap your head around this concept, we're arguing about 2 'perfect' people who were tricked by a magical talking snake. Having the ability to make concious decisions in the right direction and knowing the wrong directions would not be the sign of a robot. A god who is all-powerful and all-knowing means everything was 'preprogrammed' from the start, so unless he's not all-knowing, you've unwillingly introduced another contradiction here.

Not only is that remark illogical, it relies on a logical fallacy of "appeal to authority", (not only that, the 'authority' appealed to has no evidentiary basis itself, making it invalid on two levels). Aside from me asking for the verses where it explains where his god can turn it's powers on and off, I challenge him to explain how I'm wrong while using basic logic. If he immediately turns back to quoting the bible after this post, then it's obvious that he has willingly dodged every problem brought up and cannot think freely.

Whether or not he can find any 'biblical verses' to support his religious claims, that source has no evidentiary basis itself and would constitute using one unsubstantiated assertion to support another. Either way wouldn't be a logical substantiation of such an outre`religious claim for which he still has the burden of proof, (since he made the initial claim about 'selective deital ignorance').

Im sure the two of you realize when i put up a witness with your unsuspected helping me many read these boards.Now im sure you have some on your side too whether they are atheists etc.But if 1 person gets something out of the bible im happy they might investigate it more.
The witnessing is about supporting Gods organization.....

You're mistaken; I've haven't stated that you fundies couldn't spout religious proselytizations, I've stated that there is no inherent presumption that you can do so unopposed. I've further contended that the same option to post specious/unsupported religious opinions exists as it does to post reasoned refutations and rational challenges to such. Hence, the opposing viewpoints.

Your continued false/unsubstantiated contention of my being 'wheelchair' bound is not only offensive to those who are but, reveals your discriminatory stance. Were I, or any combat-trained veteran wheelchair-bound, you'd still come out of any confrontation as a failure. Just as these posts indicate you do now.

The witless jw has been attempting to designate me as being 'wheelchair-bound', (as well as a "radish-eater"), in a few different posts. Lacking any rational rebuttal, he's resorted to specious falsehoods which imply that his otehr contentions may be specious falsehoods as well.
