Ok so you have seen the ads who here likes mac better and who likes Pc better?
For me it is Mac all the way It has been so nice not getting the blue screen of death ;D
-
PC unless you're doing some kind of video/photo/audio activities.
The PC has more problems for obvious reasons. When you have millions or billions of more people using PC than Mac, the PC is going to be a bigger target for viruses, the programming of the OS is simply more difficult, it requires more features seeing as how it's needed for use worldwide, etc.
People who aren't all too familiar with computers past the very basics would probably benefit more from a Mac, for the simple reason that you don't have to really care about malicious attacks, viruses, etc.

I am a Mac girl all the way! I love my computer sooo much.
-
PC for me, don't particularly like the mac.
-
Mah good ole PC has always been there for me...I'm wary of apple products, other than mah ipod. I love mah ipod.
-
PC. I always considered myself smart with computers but when it comes to a Mac I stumble all over the place trying to get the simplest things done. :- lol.
-
definitly pc. or at least until more stuff is compatable for mac
-
PC.
i can't live without copy and paste. :P
-
I'll take a PC any day
-
I love my pc.. ;D
-
Lol I used to be the same way till I bought a mac aw it has been great I can still copy and paste. you can still use windows on a mac. My system doesn't crash daily. It takes some getting used to just like anything to try for the first time, but well worth it. ;D.. There has been no blue screen of death And Now I will never be a pc owner again ;D :notworthy:
-
I've had my current PC for 5 years and it hasn't crashed once.
It's not the computer, it's the person and whether they know how to care for it or not.
-
Then there are those that do take very well care of there pc and it still crashes and you still have the blue screen of death Im sure even bill gates doesn't take care of his computer if this happens:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/RgriTO8UHvs&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/RgriTO8UHvs&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

PC.

LOL... what? I have a Mac & I copy & paste all the time.

Gotta disagree with you there... I have had a PC that has never crashed on me since 2002 when I got it, & I have had a Mac that never crashed on me since I bought it in 2005. That just means I got good machines. My boss bought a Mac & had to return it because it had problems out the box. My brother bought a PC & has had nothing but problems with it from day 1. Much like cars, computers can have "lemons."
I much prefer my Mac to a PC. I prefer the interface & the machine in general. And I LOVE not having to worry about all the viruses & problems that PCs have. I can't really think of anything I have used a PC for that has been "better" than on a Mac, or that I have preferred.
-
I have a Mac and i like it so much better then a PC
-
I think Macs are still way to much money for comparable speed and memory you could get on a PC. Also there is much more software for PC and it tends to be less expensive also. So the PC gets my vote.

It's fairly rare to have a hardware issue out of the box. Hardware issues typically arise when people change/do things they don't know much about.
-
pc for me as well. ;)
-
Mac has a more user-friendly interface, less bugs, and less viruses have been scripted for it. Good for beginners. Which is why they're common in schools. They're also expensive. PC's are cheap, buggy, complicated, and eventually end up virus-ridden. My kind of computer. ;D
On the other hand, PCs support more software than Macs because of their high popularity. You can get software/hardware for them anywhere, whereas Macs actually have specialized stores for them. There's a Mac store on the Kstate campus, I love it. If you're a gamer, Macs don't even compare, due to the fact that PC's actually, in my opinion, are higher on the performance end. With the development of Windows Vista, no one in their right mind would even CONSIDER getting a Mac for gaming.
But seeing as while I've gone through about 4 or 5 pc's while my Mac-loving relatives still have the first ones they bought, some over 8 years ago, as far as quality over time is concerned, Bill Gates can kiss my :bootyshake:
In my personal opinion, Mac is better, but given the amount of gaming I do, I'm condemned to buy Windows forever.
-
PC but hopefully will be able to get a Mac one day!!
-
The more mainstream Macs become, the worse they become.
-
i have always wanted a mac, i'm just not ready to commit. i'm not a gamer so, that's not an issue. i'm just very impatient (i won't ever read/use directions that come with products when i'm assembling them). i wish someone like bestbuy would offer mac days for a demonstration on the mac system. I know they will show you a few things on the sales floor but, i need to give it a try for a bit of time, myself. that is what i'm afraid of: getting it home and being so frustrated trying to familiarize myself with the new system that it will end up enduring some abuse - from me!
-
PC for sure! I have no idea what the blue screen of death is anyway...
-
:cat: IM A PC ALL THE WAY 8)

I was nervous about going to macs but it was so worth it and if you go to an apple store they have a 1 on 1 where they meet with you for 1 hour of uninterrupted time with a specialist where you can get to know your apple product they also have free workshops where they have open presentation for a class to learn about the products just a heads up
-
p.c for me
-
PC :bunny:

Thank you... i will look for a location. i'm in rural NY - i'll probably have to look somewhere closer to Albany for an Apple store.

Pc

I love my pc.....my husband is an ITT tech and we really never had any serious problems not to want one. After you have things for a while,it always needs a tune up or up grade. So I think knowing a little more than basic computer skills can actually play a part in the up keeping of your pc.

You can check apple.com too it shows locations ;D

i don't like macs, theyre confusing :(
-
I honestly prefer a PC, but I'm getting use to a Mac. Still, it's a PC for me.
-
I haven't used a mac since the Apple II, so i may be out of the loop. I really like PCs, mainly for the variety of hardware. You can really spec out the machine for the the sort of tasks you are going to do with it, either bare minimum or optimized for certain applications. The software selection is huge, which is why some people end up with hardware software compatibility issues. As far as viruses and spyware goes, I have always been able to keep my systems clean. I am a blood and guts computer guy, I like to tweak my system for the best performance, even if I don't have the newest hardware. I don't know about macs, but the last time I used one there was very little tweaking you could do to it.
-
Honestly I think that it really depends on what you are going to be doing with it. If your gonna be doing video and audio mixing then yeah mac is the way to go. If your just gonna use it to download music, watch videos, surf the net, or view pics of the family then PC is the way. So it really depends on you. I like mac because there isnt any "known" viruses for it and it is much faster. Downside is that there really isnt many programs up and running for mac right now. LOL and of course the blue screen of death doesn't happen with mac.
-
PC. Mac are somewhat confusing to me. I guess I need to work with them more and get the feel of it.
-
Mac has a more user-friendly interface, less bugs, and less viruses have been scripted for it.
And the more people use them, the worse it will get. Macs have WAY more security threats than Windows...just that nobody cares to take advantage of them because, as a virus coder, it makes no sense to hit a million people when you could hit 10 million.
The last time a person who was known for coding viruses for PCs was timed in how long it took to get a virus on a Mac, it took him 10 minutes.
there isnt any "known" viruses
Yes there is.
for it and it is much faster.
What do you base this upon?
LOL and of course the blue screen of death doesn't happen with mac.
There isn't on a PC either if you're not completely ignorant of what you're doing.

PC

I love my PC. However when I do film projects for school (well, did them), I loved using their Mac's for that. But overall, I would prefer to use my PC for everything.
-
i wold buy a Mac just for the security thing.
-
PC, not very many things are compatible for Mac.
-
i wold buy a Mac just for the security thing.
Again, they're not deemed more secure because of the OS. They're only "more secure" because no virus programming is going to waste hours of time making a virus to target 5 million people, when that same programmer could spend the same hours making the same virus for PCs that will hit 100 million people.
And again, the more Macs become mainstream, the more viruses they will get. It will be a huge, VERY fast smack in the face, because the Mac OS has WAY more openings for viruses and security threats than Windows has ever had.
-
I am actually really disappointed that some surveys and sites do not support MAC and require Internet Explorer, because I have officially converted to MAC and really do not want to go back. I love the fact that my computer rarely slows down, needs a virus scan performed or randomly shuts down programs. There are a few bugs here and there, and I am not always clear of the crl + alt + del (however it is not daily like with my old PC), but I get to ignore the mass emails about some massive PC virus or worm.
-
I have never had problems with my PC or laptop. I prefer the PC to the MAC because it is compatible with others and MAC is only compatible with MAC.
-
PC for sure. Mac's are very nice looking, but I think they are overpriced. There IS a virus for Mac according to the news. It was not a serious threat, they discovered it last week.
-
no matter what i believe and i no mac will always be the best. It worth's d price
-
Macs are the greatest i hate pc,s
-
For Gaming .. PC hands down, Mac is for office use.
-

There is no other way to be than a PC

True. But Apple thinks that their computers are worth $2000, and despite them being better than PCs overall in my opinion, they are NOT worth $2000 when I managed to get a hold of a decent PC (finally) for $250. So Macs getting as popular as Windows doesn't seem like something that would happen very soon. Now, you said virus coders "wouldn't hit 1 million when they could hit 10 million instead". This is probably a good thing, since Macs are popular for business use, and thus the "1 million" might have important info on them. Windows seem to be more popular for small business use, like video stores, not huge corporations.
It would be nice if Macs had more gaming capabilities, I hear the latest Mac has a processor capable of 8 GIGABYTES of RAM. Now tell me, Bill Gates, does YOUR computer have 8 GB of RAM? *Gates look up from his iMac...screams and tries to cover it with his coat*. Oh, it DOES.
Also, has anyone seen the new HP Touchsmart? I thought it was a Mac at first, then I hit the screen and was like "WTF??? VISTA??". Cheap copycats. Oh yeah, that brings me to another thing.... Windows is just software. I suppose that's a fortunate thing, because everyone knows Microsoft's hardware skills fail. *cough*Xbox 360*cough*. But, because of that, Windows PCs are actually made by sometimes 5 different manufacturers for the parts. Macs and OSX come from the same people, minimizing compatibility issues, and is probably their excuse for the $2000 price tag.

i have a PC, and have always used PCs and been fine with them lol...they work well for me. :)

I am a fan of the PC.

PC all the way, i never had a mac, never plan on getting one.
