I have a few of these two dollar bills and everyone I know says for me to save them I don't know what is the importance in doing so I keep them in a book but really don't spend them because they are so different looking to me. So every now and them I take a peek at them but I really don't know what makes them special. Do you have one what is your reason not to spend it?
-
They not easily attainable. you have to go to the bank or somewhere to ask for one. I think there cool. Also does anyone know if they still print them?
-
i think they still print them, at our local recycling center , when they give us change they give us 2 dollar bills.
-
Much like the Susan B. coin dollar, they don't make 'em anymore.
You could hang on to them and in 20 years they may be worth $2.25, but probably not.
-
I think many people save the $2 bill because there weren't that many printed. Possibly in a hundred years they will really be worth something. I have a couple myself.
-
The only reason they seem special is because people didn't use them and started saving them.... Like when the gold dollar was introduced and the state quarters came out, everyone would check them to try and collect all the states.
If money is printed this way for us to use it's not worth much later on unless there was an error while it was printed or something different like that.. that's what I heard anyway.
-
I had quite a few, but mom is so superstitious and doesn't allow me to keep them because apparently people in jail used those, so it's "bad luck"
-
I have a couple and yea they will probably be worth something to like our great grand kids..
-
Hay I tried saving those two dlloer bills also but, when I did not have money said good buy to my collection :'( I had about 10 of them.
-
lol. im loaded with those i hope they are worth somthing later in life!
-
I have one that's taped together, which I bought off of my mother after she almost spent it at Sonic.
And I heard that they started reprinting them in 2005, but they just don't have very high circulation. You could probably get them from a bank, if you asked.

I heard something similar, myself. Not about the idea that people in jail used them, but that they brought around bad luck. Though, I also heard the opposite and that they brought good luck. So take your pick!
I actually like having them around, personally.
-
You can get as many as you want at the dog track, horse track and Ben and Jerry's,, (2$) bets...
-
I have a sheet of $2 bills that I am saving and going to give my daughter when she grows up. I won it, along with a nice trophy, in a dance competition once.
-
Bill Clinton is on the 3 dollar bill... ;D
-
There are certain print years that are actually worth more than $2....google it
-
I have a few, i save them because they were given to my kids. I don't think they are worth anythign but $2 they are just rare to find
-
I have several uncirculated, uncut two dollar bills. These will be worth a lot in about 10 or 20 years. If you have any bills that were printed in 1976 and stamped with that year on them from the post office hang on to them as they were the first ones reissued since the early 1800's. :icon_rr:
-
i collect them as a way to save without actually saving... something that i have a bunch of and keep them around just in case something major goes wrong... or that the somehow become worth a million dollars...
-
I have two of these I only have them because eventually they will go out of circulation because they aren't printed anymore. So I guess they will be worth more.
-
These two dollar bill will be worth alot of money and they don't make them any more (collectable)
-
My grandma had a bunch of them and gave one to each of her grandchildren. They belonged to my grandpa who died when my mom was young. I keep it because they aren't very easy to come by and this bill means more to me because it belonged to my grandpa.
-
I dont think they will be worth anymore than 2 dollars!
-
I never knew if they were worth money but I have heard stories. But one time when I worked as a waitress a guy tipped me four 2 dollar bills. And I never knew if they were worth anything so I spent them.lol
-
They still print them and my family says to save them also. I even have some from the 50s that my grandma gave me. If they ever are worth more than $2 though, I suppose we'll have to wait for a while. Not for the recent ones however.
-
When I was a kid my parents gave me an envelope of them for my birthday, I think there must have been about 20 bucks in all. I didn't think it was real money, but I took their word for it. The clerk at Wal-Mart didn't take my word for it though and she called her manager and I had to sit in a little office until he got back. I was really scared that I was in trouble. When the manager got there he laughed at both of us and traded me for a ten dollar bill that the clerk would accept.
-
I THINK THEY ARE COOL LOOKING!
-
My dad kept old $2 bills. I think that in the far future, it may be worth something. My you should call the mint department & asked their opinion. Who knows, it may be worth something. Good luck. With this economy that we are all living in, we all need extra cash.
-
My mom has one for me, my brother, and my little sister. Her and my dad kept them for us, not sure if and when we will ever get them. We always liked looking at them they are so neat looking.
-
We have a liquor store next door to my work and that guy comes in and pays for his meals all the time with $2 bills. He has a wad of them, so I guess maybe he got them from the bank...or prints them at home..lol
-
I havent seen one in a long time.
-
I have several. When I was growing up I had an Aunt and Uncle send me a $2 bill every birthday. For some reason, I never spent them and still have them.
-
There is a strip club here in Miami where instead of dollar bills they only give you change in $2.00 bills. I guess it helps the strippers...LOL!
-
I have a couple that I keep around because they are fun and different, but it will take a long time for them to worth something more I think. My grandmother used to send me a $2 in my halloween card so I held onto most of those until a few years ago. I do not know if they are still made or not, nor do I know if my grandmother stopped sending me one a year because they are not made anymore or because I'm an adult now :P
The $2 bill should be huge in Louisville, KY (especially this weekend) because they were originally printed for race track so people could make their $2 bet with one bill. It is kinda odd that with a recession and most other prices increasing, that the minimum bet at race tracks has not gone up...
-
I have a few of them. I save them because they are cool and there are not that many.
-
i have about 1000.00 in $2.00 bills and they range from anyweres from 1912 till 1976 ....very good shape . I have had them since i been about 5 years old to now . I still get a few here and there but i heard they are only worth and extra .25 at the dollar and coin shop . so i have them in a binder .
-
Value? Not sure. People love to collect!! Since they are not common, it is a "find" when they come across one, which is the ultimate pleasure for anyone who collects :notworthy:
-
My sister works at a bank and assures me they are easily accessible. They were reprinted within the last 5 years also. Not sure bout the value from a collectible standpoint, but they are cool to keep around.
-
Most people seem to want to save them, in hopes of. It's just an oddity. But who can say; if they're kept in mint condition and 50 years from now with the credit card taking the place of cash, a 2 dollar bill would be something to see. :bs:
-
Not real sure on actual collectible "value" but it sure is neat to come across them now and then, i personally try to save them, but end up needing to use them for one reason or another, and then out of nowhere stumble upon another. Sure is cool finding one though
-
This may be a little off topic but, I also have saved 50 cent pieces along with some 2 dollar bills, anyone know if the worth of those will ever go up..?
-
they are the only bills my kids will save! you can ask for them when you go to the bank.
-
Aw I love them. My grandma used to give me one every valentines day, so they are special to me.
-
I have a couple of them. I guess they're sort of a novelty, so I don't plan on spending them.
-
hey... can i have some of those??
Give me $5.00 worth..... :P
-
My sister collects them and as a bartender she gets quite a few.
-
I have a couple and yea they will probably be worth something to like our great grand kids..
The 2 dollar bill will probably come back in force again some century
-
I have tons. There is a party in the plaza, big drinking party downtown, that only accepts two dollar bills as payment. When you get there you give them the money you want to spend and they give it back to you in two dollar bills. There isn't any point in saving them, they'll never be worth anything, there's a ton out there.
-
I think they're fun to collect. I give them away as occasional gifts as most people don't see them often.

I have a few myself and your right that is all they are worth is two dollars.
-
I think they're fun. I have a bunch of them and I keep them just for the heck of it. Why not?
-
I can use $2 bucks :icon_rr:
-
Call your local banks, see if they have any. I know were I live the banks will exchange them for 2 $1.00 bills. So they are pretty common around here.
-
two dollar bill is a bad bill, spend the bad luck.
