Title: Cats or Dogs?

I like to have a dog and a cat! Most the time they get along. I just like something cuddly to hold, snuggle to, and sleep with, and smells nicer....and a cat's good for that, But I also want a pet who's playful, protective, and loyal....and unlike a cat, a dog's good for that (but definately doesn't usually smell very nice, and a dog won't stay still and most likely will lick your face if you try to snuggle to him).

So I need em both! :( So as long as they get along and don't fight too much, I want em both! and ive had em both before and I love EM! and plus it's entertainment in it's self to see how they play and interact with each other!

Cats are more cuddly, but dogs give you a more loyal feeling. So i guess mine would be dogs o.o

I certainly like both, but for different reasons.  Both my cat and my dog have such personalities that are so unique to themselves.  To me it is like asking me about two of my closest friends and which one I like better, but if you choose one you hurt the other's feelings.  The two people shouldn't be compared to each other because they both have their own strengths and weaknesses that make them special.  They were not meant to be the same and should not try to be.  For me the same goes for cats and dogs. lol, stupid analogy...I know.

i liked cats better when i was younger. but now i'd have to say dogs. although both are nice. dogs are just easier to interact with. they react to you more.

def dogs  im allergic to cat hair.  my husband likes cats, but too bad we cant have one because if a cat rubs against me i will break out in hives wherever it touched me. :sad1:

Im a dog person as I was raised around them. Every time one passes away which is usually a good number of years or like some of our unlucky ones (Max, Wolfie, and Lady's puppies), we get a new one.

I would have to say cats all the way. I grew up with both but I find the little fluff faces irresistible!

 :D I have three cats and three dogs. They all have their own personalities and jobs. The neighbors love the cats because they keep the gopher and mice population down. The dogs are fun as well because we take them to the river with us.

I'm an animal lover and like both but prefer dogs.For one I'm allergic to cats and plus they've always seemed a little too moody for me.Dogs on the other hand is mans best friend and can are loving and protective.Cats are sometimes lazy and useless.

Both.  I have grown up around all animals: cats, dog, horse, hampsters, ect.  Cats are great because they are independent; take care of themselves. They are also very playful and get into everything.  Dogs are great partners, and need lots of attention.

I prefer dogs over cats. Nothing against cats, they cool independents pet, but dogs are more cuddly and they're loyal. Loyalty is above all. Dogs are likely to protect you and die for you. I can't say the same for cats.

I have a cat and two dogs.  For SURE when the cat is gone, no more cats for me!!  She's nice and everything, but she's either very stand-offish or she's RIGHT IN YOUR FACE.  The dogs are great-they can get right in your face, too, but they have so much better of a personality!

Dogs seem more sociable and friendly to me.  Cats seem kind of standoffish and almost too independent.  Sadly I've never owned a pet so I would be glad to have either  :sad1:

Im a dog person...I used to LOVE cats when I was younger, but after becoming an adult & getting my own place I realized that cats (usually) tear everything up...lol. If my dogs get on my nerves I can just let them outside.

I'm definitely a cat person. I think they're sweet and don't require constant attention.  :cat:

my boyfriend's a future vet, though, and he has a huge dog. I'm slowly becoming a dog person :D

Dogs.  I have kids and my pediatrician told me that cats carry more bacteria and disease.  Besides, cats are super sneaky while dogs are super loyal.  Yeah, dogs!

We have both in our house, and it is obvious that our dog loves us more.  When we get home he can't contain his excitement, the cant on the other hand could care less.  So....Dogs!

I prefer dogs because they seem to rely on you more than cats and I need to be needed!  I truly love all animals but just prefer to have dogs for pets.

I actually have both ;D but my dog sometimes acts like a cat they get along pretty well my male cat and my dog they kinda wrestle n chase eachother around the house its pretty funny to watch.

Definitely dogs. They are much more energetic over the lazy cats. Dogs actually want to do stuff, whereas cats, just like to lounge around. Plus, I'm allergic to cats.

I can't believe any of you would choose a stupid dog over a cuddly cat.  While cats are seemingly cold hearted and display sociopathic behavior from time to time,it is great having that warm ball of fur cuddle with you at night when they so choose to.  Plus they use a litter box to pee in and all you have to do is feed them.  You have to take dogs out every ten minutes just so you can listen to people complain about them crapping on their lawn.  Dogs smell,eat their own crap,sniff your butt and hump your legg.  I'd rather have an animal that takes me for granted than one that humps my leg and eats and vomits its own crap.

In my opinion, cats are just so...plain. They just sit around all day, at least, that's what happened with my old cat. Dogs on the other hand, they are just so upbeat and lively! <3  I guess it all depends on your taste though.

we  cant have cats or dogs where we live. So we have birds. I have finches that I raise as a hobby. here is a picture...I am going to try and send it as a .pdf file so it will come through as an attachment. Finches are cool. I have 25 of them. Sometimes I give one to friends to make them feel better. I just got 2 new babies this week...so cute!!! :angel12:

My cat is anything but plain.  Who has ever seen a cat that chases his own tail?  He is clever enough to pick up his own toys and hide them.  He makes the decisions,whenever he is hungry he will meow and claw at me until I give him a piece of steak.  He meows when he needs his litter box cleaned,at night when I am sleeping I can feel him jump on the bed and run across me.  Forget the rest of you,my cat does not just sit around.

Both.  I have 2 mini pins and a few cats that were born in our home.  Our dogs love us unconditionally, and our cats come to us when they want to be loved.  Love all of them.

everyone has their own reasons for being a cat or dog person. me? i just love the interaction and the reaction i get from my dog.  i love many things about my dog but one is how he comes to get me when he wants something.  it is so funny the way i used to crack up watching timmy & lassie and i would think - that boy cannot possibly understand what that dog is saying. yes, it was just a tv show but yes-my dog definitely lets me know what he wants.

I like both dogs and cats but I lean torward dogs because I have been scratched very badly by cats and the really don't like me very much.I have had few cats that have came to like me.

I can like cats but most of the time it seems like they're trying to screw me over (like they just want food). Dogs are so loyal and outgoing and they have amazing emotional senses. When I was little I was very ill and my cousins dog understood it immediatly.
