A lot is being said in the media about Mitt Romney not being "likable"
or that he doesn't "relate well" to people.
Frankly, we struggled to understand why.
So after much research, we have come up with a Top Ten List
to explain this "unlikablility."
Top Ten Reasons To Dislike
Mitt Romney:
1.
Gracious, statesmanlike aura.
Looks like every central casting's #1 choice for Commander-in-Chief.
2.
Been married to ONE woman his entire life, and has been faithful to her,
including through her bouts with breast cancer and MS.
3.
No scandals or skeletons in his closet.
(How boring is that?)
4.
Can't speak in a fake, southern, "black preacher voice"
when necessary.
5.
Highly intelligent.
Graduated *bleep* laude from both Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School ...
and by the way, his academic records are NOT sealed.
6.
Doesn't smoke or drink alcohol, and has never done drugs,
not even in the counter-culture age when he went to college.
Too square for today's America ?
7.
Represents an America of "yesterday",
where people believed in God, went to Church, didn't screw around,
worked hard, and became a SUCCESS!
8.
Has a family of five great sons....
and none of them have police records or are in drug rehab.
But of course, they were raised by a stay-at-home mom,
and that "choice" deserves America 's scorn.
9.
Oh yes.....he's a MORMON.
We need to be very afraid of that very strange religion
that teaches its members to be clean-living, patriotic,
fiscally conservative, charitable, self-reliant, and honest.
10.
And one more point.....
pundits say because of his wealth, he can't relate to ordinary Americans.
I guess that's because he made that money HIMSELF.....
as opposed to marrying it or inheriting it from Dad (see details below on inheritance).
Apparently, he didn't understand that actually working at a job and earning your own money
made you unreliable to Americans.
My goodness, it's a strange world, isn't it?
Personal Information:
His full Name is:
Willard Mitt Romney
He was Born:
March 12, 1947 and is 65 years old.
His Father:
George W. Romney, former Governor
of the State of Michigan
He was raised in
Bloomfield Hills, Michigan
He is Married to
Ann Romney since 1969; they five children.
Education:
B.A. from Brigham Young University ,
J.D. and M.B.A. from Harvard University
Religion:
Mormon - The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints
Working Background:
After high school, he spent 30 months in France as a
Mormon missionary.
After going to both Harvard Business School and
Harvard Law School simultaneously, he passed the Michigan
bar exam, but never worked as an attorney.
In 1984, he co-founded Bain Capital a private equity
investment firm, one of the largest such firms in the
United States.
In 1994, he ran for Senator of Massachusetts and lost
to Ted Kennedy.
He was President and CEO of the 2002 Winter Olympic
Games. His management of the games actually saved the financially strapped games and saved the US from great embarrassment.
In 2002, he was elected Governor of the State of
Massachusetts where he eliminated a 1.5 billion deficit.
Some Interesting Facts
about Romney:
Bain Capital, starting with one small office supply store
in Massachusetts , turned it into Staples; now over
2,000 stores employing 90,000 people.
Bain Capital also worked to perform the same kinds
of business miracles again and again, with companies
like Domino's, Sealy, Brookstone, Weather Channel,
Burger King, Warner Music Group, Dollarama,
Home Depot Supply and many others.
He was an unpaid volunteer campaign worker for
his dad's gubernatorial campaign 1 year.
He was an unpaid intern in his dad's governor's
office for eight years.
He was an unpaid bishop and stake president of
his church for ten years.
He was an unpaid President of the Salt Lake
Olympic Committee for three years.
He took no salary and was the unpaid Governor of
Massachusetts for four years.
He gave his entire inheritance from his father to charity.
Mitt Romney is one of the wealthiest self-made men
in our country but has given more back to its citizens
in terms of money, service and time than most men.
And in 2011 Mitt Romney gave over $4 million to charity,
almost 19% of his income.... Just for comparison purposes,
Obama gave 1% and Joe Biden gave $300 or .0013%.
Mitt Romney
is Trustworthy:
He will
show us his birth certificate
He will
show us his high school and college transcripts.
He will
show us his social security card.
He will
show us his law degree.
He will
show us his draft notice.
He will
show us his medical records.
He will
show us his income tax records.

Great Job! I couldn't have done it better! I have heard that if you are going to be a good sport, you have to lose to prove it! Well, he is a good sport and he won't lose because of me!

So many times people just say. "well I like Obama because he supports abortion and gay marriage." Thing is Obama changes his, "view," based on what group he is around. He did pass the bill three times that supported killing babies after they where born healthy and alive. This bill says that after a baby is born you lock him or her in a closet and let him or her starve to death and cry until he or she passes away. Obama is a sick sick person. He is a supporter of murder. When it comes to gay marriage I don't support it, but that is the bussiness of those who are involved in it. Abortion makes me want to get involved and protect innocent children. When I look at my new born baby its hard to imagine the sick cruel ways of Obama. I would gladly sacrifice a limb just to be able to vote for Mitt Romney. These children need to be protected and rescued before more of this happens. If you vote for Obama, I hate to say this because I know it sounds cruel, but shame on you if you know he does this and still vote for him. These babies are on all our hands. We have to do all we can to protect these precious children.
-
o please im not voting for either one :bs:of those idiots!

I'm going to contest the ones I don't agree with or are wrong.
No scandals or skeletons in his closet.
Completely incorrect. What about his 47% statement? What about evading US taxes through offshore loopholes? How about exploiting the other tax loopholes that have been in the news? What about the whole Lauber hazing? Or how about the petty dog-on-the-car-roof story? I could go on, but you need to fact check.
Can't speak in a fake, southern, "black preacher voice" when necessary
This sounds pretty racist.
his academic records are NOT sealed.
But most of his tax records are-- something all presidential candidates and presidents openly release to the public.
Doesn't smoke or drink alcohol, and has never done drugs,
So what? Neither did Hitler! lol
Represents an America of "yesterday", where people believed in God, went to Church, didn't screw around,
Incorrect. You live in a naive world if you believe people never screwed around in any time period. Stop watching the Andy Griffith show 24/7 and get with the program.
Oh yes.....he's a MORMON.
Oh yes...a very scary cult that is gaining popularity in the US-- one in which it's founder killed 2 people in cold blood before he was killed by an angry mob who wanted to hang the well-known con artist. Wanna see how screwed up this religion is? http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=6udew9axmdM
pundits say because of his wealth, he can't relate to ordinary Americans.
I'm fairly certain if you make over a 6-digit number or write your 70,000$ horse off on your taxes, you simply can't relate to the vast majority of the population.

(How boring is that?)
Check out how Mitt Romney lied, under oath, in a divorce proceeding to help his friend (the founder of STAPLES) cheat his cancer stricken, ex wife out of money. He deliberately undervalued Staples stock in his sworn testimony and within a few weeks after testifying that the stock was worthless and failing, he and his friend sold their stock holdings to Goldman Sachs and made millions while the ailing ex wife walked away with 1/10 of what the stock was really worth. So thanks to Mitt Romney, she was left with no money and no insurance. This is the information that Atty. Gloria Allred is trying to get out to the general public, especially women, but the ex wife was slapped with a gag order that Atty. Allred cant get lifted, so the national news can't report it. You can only read about it on news feeds like The Huffington Post, etc.
Maybe there are other skeletons under gag orders too!.....hence, no skeletons!

Name the exact bill by number which says this. If you cannot, you're an outright liar.
One was the Born Alive infant bill. From what I gather the bills were about occasions where a fetus would survive an induced labor abortion. Obama's position was that if a doctor believed that the fetus was viable, save it, otherwise kill it or leave it to die. That was the law that was already in place. Bills that that came up on abortion that he voted against included language that he felt was too broad. Pro-life activists make it out like Obama is for infanticide, which would be career suicide for a politician.

I really hope you are joking.... If you think Obama changes his views like that then you are blind to how Romney is. He is the one how has flip flopped on all of his statements. Please think and get facts before talking on a public site. There are ALWAYS two sides to every story. if you don't get the other side you are only jumping to conclusions and that is never the way to go. ;)

I see, so not quite as it was mis-characterized in the post challenged. That was disingenuous of that poster; thank you for clarifying the actual situation.

The reference was apparently to an Illinois state bill, (not federal legislation), a 2003 state bill, SB 1082, sought to define the term "born-alive infant" as any infant, even one born as the result of an unsuccessful abortion, that shows vital signs separate from its mother. The bill would have established that infants thus defined were humans with legal rights. It never made it to the floor; it was voted down by the Health and Human Services Committee.

Not only is that inaccurate, it's not even close to the actual story. In 1991, Romney testified about the valuation placed on Staples four years prior during the original divorce settlement in 1987. The claim that Romney devalued the stock is obviously not true as he did not testify on the stock’s value back in 1987. The actual court transcripts from 1991 show that Romney did not perjure himself, nor did he lie or provide shelter for anyone.
The reality of the situation is that the ex-wife made a bad decision by selling most her shares of the stock before the company went public in 1989. Even at that, she still made $592,150 on the sale of the stock, while her remaining shares were still worth $1.8 million after the IPO. Tough to say she was left with no money.

To my knowledge, the documents have not as yet been published. Court proceedings went on last Thursday Oct. 25 to have the documents unsealed and the gag order lifted off of Maureen Stemberg, the ex wife. I have been following the story at examiner.com and huffingtonpost.com. Just do a search for this subject dated Oct. 24,25 and you can follow the development. On Oct. 25, the court granted the request to have the documents unsealed but would not grant the gag order to be lifted and Atty. Allred stated that without the ex wife being granted her request to tell her story, the documents by themselves would not mean much to the general public. When the documents are released to be published I'm sure they will appear in the Boston Globe, they actually initiated the inquiry, then you can decide for yourself and not be swayed by people who want Romney elected no matter what his true character is. I have a hard time believing that being the astute businessman Romney is suppose to be, he testifies under oath that a Bain Capital company stock, which he knew very well and as successful and huge as Staples became, was a completely worthless flop just four years earlier. By the way....his company, Bain Capital, made millions backing Staples and bragged about it during the Republican convention!
TMZ reported on 10-25:
"The ex-wife of one of Mitt Romney's closest advisers says Mitt lied on the witness stand in her divorce about a key asset -- the value of Staples, the company her husband founded -- and as a result she was grossly shortchanged in the property settlement ... this according to an author who helped the ex-wife write her story.
Sadi Ranson says she reviewed the transcripts of the divorce between Staples founder Tom Stemberg and his wife Maureen during the collaboration on the book. Ranson tells TMZ ... she reviewed boxes and boxes of transcripts and claims Romney testified the Staples stock was a pipe dream because the company was not successful -- something Maureen says was flat-out untrue."

Technically, Obama is like an Oreo (half black/half white). And everybody likes Oreos. ;D That's just the way the cookie crumbles. Surely since he's still half-black, Obama will be able to slamdunk his way into some milk and secure the win.

What I see before me on a daily basis is his TOTAL DISREGARD for this country AND it's LEGAL CITIZENS. I guess it's true what everyone says... Published in the Winston-Salem Journal, October 31, 2012 (They endorsed John McCain in 2008)
Americans have a clear choice between two presidential candidates with starkly different ideas for spurring the economy, providing for the health of our people, defending our interests abroad, educating our children and protecting our environment. We believe that President Barack Obama’s progress on these issues merits him a second term in the White House.
Four years ago on this page, we endorsed Republican U.S. Sen. John McCain of Arizona over Obama. We wrote that we were impressed with Obama, but McCain would “bring the Iraq war to a successful conclusion, work to end American dependence on foreign oil, reduce America's output of climate-changing gases and begin the rebuilding of our economy.”
The Democratic president has done all those things and more. He is calm under pressure and courageous in standing up for the rights of all Americans, including the poor, veterans, the elderly, women, gays and immigrants. In contrast, we’ve sometimes found it hard in the last few weeks to tell just what Obama’s challenger, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, really stands for.
Obama is not always as gregarious as many Americans might like him to be, but he is committed to his country and candid with it — to the point of releasing far more of his tax returns than Romney. While Obama commits the occasional gaffe, we can’t imagine him ever dismissing 47 percent of his fellow Americans — as Romney did, and later apologized for doing.
After weeks of challenges, Romney’s campaign was on an upswing last week after a decisive victory in the first debate. But Obama has had a generally strong four years. He and Vice President Joe Biden form a seasoned, consistent ticket, one much more promising and reliable than that of Romney and his running mate, U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin.
Under Obama’s policies, including the successful bailout of General Motors, the country averted what could have been a far worse economic disaster, maybe even a depression. The economy is slowly recovering — the national unemployment rate has finally fallen below 8 percent — and the president’s policies of continued government investment in infrastructure and education offer the best hope that the recovery will accelerate. Obama promises to cut spending and raise taxes on the wealthiest Americans, but keep taxes where they are for the vast majority.
Romney’s policies — warmed-over trickle-down economics — will make matters worse. We say that with a caveat, however, because Romney’s plans are ever-changing and it is hard to know just where his policies would end and those of the much more conservative Ryan would begin.
On national security, Obama has gotten American combat troops out of Iraq while winding down the American presence in Afghanistan. He has used American military might to fight international terrorism to a degree that no one anticipated in 2008. He showed strong leadership in ordering the successful raid that killed Osama bin Laden. The Obama foreign policy — as seen in Libya — requires our allies to handle a great share of our common defense burden, especially when the interests at stake are dearer to those allies.
We like the president’s stand on Iran, slowly but steadily undermining the Iranian economy rather than launching a premature military strike and setting off another Middle East war.
In contrast, Romney and his supporters have rattled the saber at Iran. Despite Romney’s efforts in the last few days to tone it down as he tacks to the middle, his foreign policy seems to come straight from George W. Bush. Some of Romney’s foreign-policy advisers are the former Bush neo-conservatives who got us into the unnecessary Iraq war.
We like Obama’s health-care plan, finding it far better than that offered by Romney, even if it is largely based on Romney’s own Massachusetts program. We see no sign that Romney, should he succeed in repealing “Obamacare,” would succeed in balancing the many competing health-care interests that Obama worked into a compromise.
We fear that Romney would turn Medicare into a voucher program that would not match the full cost of private insurance for the seniors. His hybrid plan would drive the sickest Americans into a government plan and let the insurance companies cherry-pick the healthiest clients.
On education, Romney, just as Republican leaders here, seems to believe that if we continue to cut public education, we will somehow educate our young well enough.
And on the environment, we’re concerned that Romney would gut protections Obama has restored.
Obama has a keen vision that he has worked hard to achieve, against considerable obstacles and often courageously. But the goal is in sight: An America respected worldwide as much for its prosperity as its defense of liberty and justice.
The Journal editorial board endorses Barack Obama for president.

I will vote for Obama and I am very much against abortion. I think it is horrible. No one wants abortion to be practiced on the large scale that it is in the U.S. I'm sure President Obama wishes we could find an alternative to abortion that would not result in the murdering of innocent little babies. Any one who is a loving parent cannot possibly agree with abortion being O.K. The fact of the matter is that before Roe vs Wade was passed the horror in America was that hundreds of young girls and women from all levels of society, were being found dead in back allies. from botched illegal abortions carried out by sleazy. unlicensed medical quacks who were out to make money. This was murder also. Romney says he will overturn Roe vs Wade but he will not say what he will replace it with so that America does not return to finding scores of young girls and women dead in dirty back allies. Even the person who is responsible for initiating Roe vs. Wade feels it was a mistake and wants to repeal it. As a nation we need to work on finding a better way to prevent unwanted pregnancies in this country by doing a better job of educating young people about sex or by making contraception more easily available to all those who need it (Romney is against that - Obama is for it).
-

I agree with you, though one could argue a fetus is not a fully-functional human yet and therefore one would not be killing a baby.
Any one who is a loving parent cannot possibly agree with abortion being O.K.
Rape victim? Incest? Share your POV please as I'm curious to know what you think.

Agreed. People need to realize that if a woman really wants to get an abortion, she WILL get an abortion.

My thoughts run fairly parallel to your own. Education is dire. In a lot of other first-world countries, the gov't usually stays out of these issues as they understand that these instances are personal matters. This is why I find republicans so hypocritical nowadays-- they've always stood for less gov't in people's lives in the past, and yet they want to govern what a woman can and can't do with their bodies.
I will also say that those who picket abortion clinics or place "VOTE PRO-LIFE" signs in their yards-- if they haven't adopted a child into their own loving family, they're dispicably hypocritical.
-
I agree with you, though one could argue a fetus is not a fully-functional human yet and therefore one would not be killing a baby.
Medical studies have shown that the heartbeat of a fetus can be detected within approximately 7 to 8 weeks after conception. I personally feel that a heartbeat would indicate that a vital life exists.
Rape victim? Incest? Share your POV please as I'm curious to know what you think.
Abortion in cases of rape, incest or when the mother's life or health are at risk, that is one of those things where although abortion may not be right, it may be necessary due to the possible psychological and physical damage that the mother and child could suffer.
I will also say that those who picket abortion clinics or place "VOTE PRO-LIFE" signs in their yards-- if they haven't adopted a child into their own loving family, they're dispicably hypocritical.
I thoroughly agree with that. I have worked with unwanted youth from dysfunctional homes who have been placed in child welfare systems and believe me the child welfare system is as big a crime as the abortion issue.

Great job on the info!!! Its time for a change!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vote 3rd party. If a third party candidate gets 5% of the votes they become eligible for federal funding next election cycle.

Fair enough. I notice this isn't a black + white debate usually. The problem lies within what step the fetus is in to define it as a human being. Some believe sperm is sacred and it's genocide to be wasted, others believe the baby isn't fully human until it breathes it's first breath outside the womb. Personally I don't know at what step that would be.

I keep hearing this from random people I know so thanks for solidifying it further. Hopefully people will read this.

Why is that? Can you say being Pro Life is justifiable, but then don't count into the fact of all the kids born and are unwanted have to go somewhere. If you want to choose Pro Life then be fully into it. Protect all life of unwanted kids in the system to get them a stable home and a safe place to be and not have to be in a system.Where the Gov. has to take of these kids. Where they grow up with mental instabilities of why my mom and dad didn't want me (mostly on the mom). Maybe other things like mom being drugs and child born with disabilities. Yeah a heartbeat means dearly, but what about the kind of life that child has to look forward to. Who would put that on a innocent just cause people feel they deserve a life to. Yes all deserve a life but a life of hell and problems. Not all end up that way but people need to stay out of a woman's womb and her respect her privacy on her choices. Its no ones business what a woman chooses but her and the people she discuss it with.

I am a Christian and do not condone abortion but I have a real problem with Christians who are so pro life, so anti abortion, so anti birth control but don't acknowledge the fact that if those things are stopped, there is a big problem left that needs to be dealt with. What do we do with all the unwanted babies? Is the Christian way just to stick them all in institutions, out of sight so we can all comfortably sit in our pews on Sundays and pretend they don't exist? Yes, I feel pro life Christians should be the first people to step up and adopt, on a large scale. What good is it to save these lives if you are not interested in doing anything to make sure those babies you save are not subjected to horrible lives of abuse and neglect. (and there are some real horror stories out there) What do you think happens to children without parents who want them? I think pro life should mean more than just stopping the killing of babies but also pro lifers should be just as passionate and concerned about making sure there are loving homes for the babies saved.

Many are helping if you do the research. Many adopt, foster, or are guardians, of many. Many donate needed items and supplies to the needs of many kids. Being pro-life does not necessarily mean they are only Christians or only Republicans - which means that everyone who is pro-life, should be helping in whatever way they can with these children.
Question: What if your parents had decided they didn't want you when your mom got pregnant, and they aborted you? How would that make you feel?
Question: Where is the responsibility of these people who lay down together, without protection and/or birth control, knowing they could get her pregnant?
Question: Is it right for a child to be killed off because they are "in the way" or "not wanted", or not the right gender? There are people who are on waiting lists to adopt and/or foster babies through teens. Who gets to speak for the unborn child - who is a child, but dependent upon the mother's vitals to survive in the womb until he/she can survive in the outside world?
Question: Speaking of adoption, how many "gay" marriages do you think will have children, unless they adopt, or have a surrogate, or a seed implanted? Keep aborting babies - there will be a lack of babies, not just from abortions, but from "gay" and "lesbian" couples not able to conceive on their own, without help from others having babies to adopt, etc.
Question: How many future leaders, scientists, teachers/professors, pastors, singers, media and journalists, authors, and so much more, will be aborted before people finally understand the consequences of this?
Thank you...

I wouldn't feel anything because I would have never existed.
Question: Where is the responsibility of these people who lay down together, without protection and/or birth control, knowing they could get her pregnant?
Ill agree to an extent, but whats more responsible, having a kid and not being able to care for it / begrudgingly care for it, or not having a kid peroid?

The "child" doesn't know any better at this point, do you remember being in the womb?

7 BILLION people and growing on this planet, how many do you think we can reasonably accommodate considering there are already an exorbitant amount of people who are starving on a daily basis. We don't need more people on this planet. Also, you should be praising these "gay" parents for adopting and not shaming them as you xtians typically do.

One would have never existed, and therefore one couldn't complain.
Where is the responsibility of these people who lay down together, without protection and/or birth control, knowing they could get her pregnant?
Obviously with the couple. That's why pro-choice people are always strongly encouraging sexual education.
Is it right for a child to be killed off because they are "in the way" or "not wanted", or not the right gender?
You'd be biting off more than you can chew here since this question is on a vast worldly scale. It's unfortunate that in some countries they leave female babies to die off due to the couple wanting a male (ex- India). Others they just have abortions due to overpopulation problems (ex- China). Problem is, do you want the gov't to tell you what you can or cannot do with your body or do you want it to be within the rights of the woman/couple?
Keep aborting babies - there will be a lack of babies, not just from abortions, but from "gay" and "lesbian" couples not able to conceive on their own, without help from others having babies to adopt, etc.
There's a problem with there being too many kids up for adoption though, so (atleast now and the past) this isn't a problem. That, and gay couples aren't going to suddenly expand gigantically. It's estimated that homosexual behavior makes up roughly 5% of the world's population, so straight couples will always be the standard.
How many future leaders, scientists, teachers/professors, pastors, singers, media and journalists, authors, and so much more, will be aborted before people finally understand the consequences of this?
I agree, though how many future HITLERS will be aborted!? lol Unfortunately this question above is speculative at best.

As you don't know my thoughts towards gays, you don't need to assume to tell me what I "need" to do and not do. These babies have a right at life that you had, I had, and many others have had. Focusing on the ones who do want to have children and cannot, but would gladly adopt and/or foster, or having a surrogate, or seed implanted, gives those people at chance at having children they so desperately want, but can't have, and gives many of these children a chance at life with many who actually would want, love, and care for them. There are always rotten people on both sides of that, but giving a child his right at life is important.
-
(Jcribb) There is a lot of babies already here on earth that they can adopt without adding more. Also the thought of what your saying is your opinion righteously so. Do not attempt to speak for all women, who which are the ones to give birth and carry such child.Nothing holding any Gay or straight couple from having a surrogate or adopting, as they would be supplying payment for this them self and a agreement with them and lawyers. Just don't attempt to think that all women shouldn't have a choice, whether you think that way or not, it is certainly implied as so. Pro-Life, Pro-Choice should be upon the individual. Its no ones business as to what a WOMAN does with her body but her and who is involved. (SOME) Christians need to understand that not all people think and feel the way they do, so they should leave they religious thoughts and feelings to the ones who think and feel the way they do, and not push their believes upon others.

As a mother who carried 3 children, I am speaking now from a mother who loves her children and sees them as individuals who had their right to live their life after we knew we were pregnant. I am also speaking as a voice for the child in the womb - sure a woman has control of her body and her choices, however, aborting a child is murder, and there's no getting around it. The poor baby in the womb has no say so to live when a mom will abort, and so someone has to speak up for them.
There are Christians and non-christians, both, who are either pro-life or pro-choice - those choices are not limited to one group only. I have the Constitutional right and freedom to speak my opinion and share what I feel about this issue, whether Christian or not, so please don't tell me what I can say or what I can keep to only people "like me." You are wrong - you share your views and I will share mine. Thank you.

Take your own advice, why don't you!?!?! I am protected by the Constitution with sharing my thoughts and views, and do NOT have to keep them to myself or to only people who "think like me." Just as you are sharing your thoughts and views, pushing them on others, in which you need to take to heart and apply to your own self. Fortunately, I have the right and the ability to speak and share, like you, so knock off the ridiculousness.

Are you going to continue to hatefully crawl and troll Christians?
Since that's not what I'm doing, (as opposed to your biased and specious 'opinion' of what I'm doing), I cannot continue to do what I'm not doing. Although, your reply is an implicit 'yes' in regards to your hypocrisy and intent to continue to "troll" with superstitious beliefs and irrationality, (which I've never denied opposing and which I'll continue to oppose).

Yes, it's exactly what you are doing. I will continue to share what I feel or believe in here as well - I thought I was pretty clear with that - did you misread? I will continue to oppose your bashing of my belief system as well, since it's my business to believe how I choose. I don't usually do this, but there is a first time for everything. No matter how spiteful you are to Christians, in particular, you are still a creation of God, and God will continue to love you.
Saul of Tarsus, or also known as Paul, after his conversion, is a wonderful account of someone who enjoyed persecuting Christians, even killing them, yet God still loved him through it all, and Paul became well known for his reputation before his conversion, and after his conversion, with his total trust and faith in God.
He is one who totally understood the meanness, disrespect, and nonacceptance of those who had the right to believe in God if they so chose. And after his conversion, he became one of God's finest workers for God. He had a continual "thorn" in his side (though we don't know for sure, it was something to do with his health) that he knew God gave him as a reminder of when he persecuted the Christians, lest he felt he started becoming too haughty in his opinions and attitude. He had to struggle for the rest of his life with his conscience - yet God forgave him fully and completely and used him for His glory and workings.
The bottom line? Both of us, and everyone else in here, have the privilege and freedom of expressing our thoughts, views, and opinions. However, the "golden rule" is there for a reason - respect and courteousness are important when dealing with anyone. Even in the D&D section, it can and will get sparked, heated, and over-zealous, but in the end, people should realize they aren't going to change someone just because they think someone should change or not do what they think someone should do.
In the Off Topic section, I cannot understand why you still wish to agitate others constantly (when they already know your views on the matter) and provoke emotional responses, when the "golden rule" expresses treating others as you would have them treat you. The "golden rule" is becoming the "rotten rule," as of late, with respect to Christians. So is this what it means to you - that Christians should be hateful and trolling back to you since that's what you do to them? Some have tried that, actually, and have gotten their threads locked, but really, when you think about it, you provoked some to respond the way they did - they tried to treat you as you treated them. So what it appears then, is that you agitate and provoke, and when they respond to you, you then accuse them of trying to "censure/restrict" what you are saying.
You want your cake and eat it, too, is what it boils down to. You are more than opposing others - you are trolling and pestering, and following them - and the fact of the matter is that you are obviously enjoying what you are doing, including begging for attention. Well, you can't complain there - you are certainly getting the attention back that you seem to crave.
Sure we can all ignore you, but honestly, what good is that? There would be many ignoring only 1 person, when it's the many who are just enjoying sharing a common denominator with each other - I'm not letting 1 person take away the joy or enjoyment I have in threads in this forum. You are the one who has a problem with Christians, yet you choose to not ignore the many, and instead, come in and pester. Since you are the one choosing to come into threads you don't like (or oppose) and sound off like you do, then by golly, you will have to take much back of what you dish out.
If these threads were not allowed in this forum, or were considered "initial proselytizing," then they would be stopped or banned. This is where you cannot accept that, and so blame the Christian for something they actually have the freedom to do, and then deliberately place yourself right in the middle, while crying "censure/restriction," when you are the one essentially trying to "censure/restrict" under the guise of "dissenting view/opposition."
You can't have it both ways, but you are trying hard to do it anyway. We already know your opposition, crystal clear. But your opposition is not the "rule of the forum" as you well know. Everyone contributes to the forum with things that are important to them. To keep coming in, following every Bible thread, just to annoy, troll, agitate, and pester, is not keeping with the "golden rule." Yet you keep getting away with things - just as you blame Christians for getting away with things.
Bible threads are not deliberately trying to annoy or pester or troll "falcon9" personally - they are started because some members care about their belief in God and want to share about it. If you didn't opt to open a thread you hate, then you wouldn't be bothered in the least. Instead, you have to bother. Well, what is fair is fair - you want to bother and dish it out, then you will not be surprised to have to take what you are dishing. Fair and simple.
Now I will get off of my soapbox, for now. I realize this will go in one ear and out the other, with my words twisted back around to chide me. I already know about that, since the forum is for all, supposedly equal and fairly, both sides. I'm just sharing my views about this that you are pushing the "golden rule" meaning, and know just when to stop so as to not get a time-out or whatever. Also, since you so much enjoy attention in here, my soapbox message here, though long, is all for you, giving you your craved attention, so you can just chew it up and spit it back out, from your twisting of the context I'm coming from. So have at it.....
-
I will continue to share what I feel or believe in here as well - I thought I was pretty clear with that - did you misread? I will continue to oppose your bashing of my belief system as well, since it's my business to believe how I choose.
Here's the actual sequence of events; you're posting specious religious superstitious beliefs, (which is permitted by FC). I'm opposing such specious superstitious beliefs for the valid reasons perviously enumerated, (that's also permitted by FC). In turn, you're opposing ny opposition by attempting to suppress/restrict/censor opposing viewpoints, (which is not being done in return).
... you are still a creation of God, and God will continue to love you.
That's your empty belief, (since it lacks any evidence whatsoever beyond an equally empty blind faith). I don't hold such a superstitious belief and reject such a presumptious and pretentious assumption as insulting.
The bottom line? Both of us, and everyone else in here, have the privilege and freedom of expressing our thoughts, views, and opinions.
No, actually these forums are the property of FusionCash and they set the posting parameters which limit the "privilege" of posting more than any constitional 'freedom of speech' does.
... that Christians should be hateful and trolling ... Some have tried that, actually, and have gotten their threads locked ...
They sure did - even after such previous attempts by xtians to troll with "calling-out" threads had been locked by Admin.
Sure we can all ignore you, but honestly, what good is that? There would be many ignoring only 1 person, when it's the many who are just enjoying sharing a common denominator with each other - I'm not letting 1 person take away the joy or enjoyment I have in threads in this forum.
Your rant makes no logical sense. It doesn't matter how many are ignoring how many others since the purpose of the "ignore button" is to hide posts from the ones using it, (not to delete those posts, which remain posted for everyone else to read). What you've been trying to do is censor such opposing posts altogether. That's not going to happen, fundie.
Since you are the one choosing to come into threads you don't like (or oppose) and sound off like you do, then by golly, you will have to take much back of what you dish out.

Incorrect; such initial religious proselytizing is "allowed"/permitted by FC; which does not mean it isn't proselytizing, just that's it's permitted. So too are posts opposing such religious proselytizing permitted, (that's the part that sticks in your craw).
You can't have it both ways, but you are trying hard to do it anyway.
Your characterization is false; it is you who are trying to have it 'one-way', (e.g., unopposed propagandizing of religious superstitions). As always, your attempts to suppress opposing viewpoints fail.

It's extremely rude to me, seeing as my tax dollars get spent on your education. Clearly I'm not getting the kinds of returns I would expect.

I will be voting for Romney. I do not like the Obama care stuff nor do I like the attacks in Libya at the American Embasy. Obama just went to bed and let our people let our people get killed. It just makes me sick. >:(
-
Mitt has my vote....no brainer! This guy KNOWS how to manage money and his moral standing is just that....moral!

My goodness, it's a strange world, isn't it?

to Ted Kennedy.

Burger King, Warner Music Group, Dollarama,
Home Depot Supply and many others.
He was an unpaid volunteer campaign worker for
his dad's gubernatorial campaign 1 year.
He was an unpaid intern in his dad's governor's
office for eight years.
He was an unpaid bishop and stake president of
his church for ten years.
He was an unpaid President of the Salt Lake

in our country but has given more back to its citizens
in terms of money, service and time than most men.
And in 2011 Mitt Romney gave over $4 million to charity,
almost 19% of his income.... Just for comparison purposes,
Obama gave 1% and Joe Biden gave $300 or .0013%.

You have that a little backwards - he "rants" his hateful "opposition" to threads allowed in this forum. People stand up to him, and suddenly they are the ranters? No, not when he deliberately comes into a thread just to annoy Christians deliberately. But thanks for your opinion...

You have that completely backwards; reasoned oppostion to INITIAL unreasoned religious superstition is not 'ranting'. Anyone can post to any thread; there are no exclusive xtian-only threads for unopposed religious ranting.
-
I will continue to share what I feel or believe in here as well - I thought I was pretty clear with that - did you misread?
If these threads were not allowed in this forum, or were considered "initial proselytizing," then they would be stopped or banned.
Nope, you fail. The actual sequence is after a poster who posts a post that they enjoy in their life, and others respond, then you opt to come into a thread, to annoy and oppose. In this particular case, the threads are Biblical or religious, inspirational or quotes for uplifting. This, in turn, shows your intolerance, hate, and hard-hardheartedness, through your bias and prejudice, towards ONLY the Christians in this forum. Opposition? No problem. Following every single Bible verse/inspiration thread, especially when Off Topic, with the same intolerance, trying to make people look foolish for believing how they choose? Problem.
My "craw?" Ha! That's a laugh. It's your "craw" that's fired up because Bible verse and inspirational threads ARE allowed in the forum, are NOT seen as proselytizing, and are continuing on with posters who are trying to enjoy sharing with each other and with others who have an interest. The only thing my "craw" is trying to show, is that opposition is fine, but deliberately annoying, trolling, constantly being intolerant of someone else's belief, is wrong.
It's intolerant for you to keep saying that "Someone can definitely have the right to choose to be irrational and unreasonable by choosing God." They aren't being that at all. You seem to be becoming more "irrational" and "obsessive" in your intolerance and nonacceptance for Christians making their own choice. You don't choose any God, period - fine - no one is harassing you for your choice. Some do choose God - those some are constantly being harassed for their choice. It shouldn't matter to you what anyone chooses - it's their personal choice.
-

Yeah yeah yeah - *little violin playing* The threads are NOT initially proselytizing like you keep insisting. There is an "Ignore Button" that can be used for those you have a problem with - "what's good for the goose is good for the gander."
-
A bland denial of the factual evidence of initial proselytizing and propagandizing is irrational. The archived evidence contradicts such irrationality and refutes your specious opinion. That "ignore button" can be used to not read refutions and viewpoints which oppose illogical religious superstitions and some are using it in 'ostrich-mode'.

Looks like neither wish to use the "Ignore Button." So this means your intolerance and trolling will continue, and those opposing your intolerance and trolling will continue. Isn't that just dandy?
-
Opposition? No problem.
False. Some of you xtian zealots have a major problem with viewpoints and evidence which contradicts your blind faith.
Following every single Bible verse/inspiration thread ...
Every single one of such threads aren't "followed"/replied to. Look closer; some religious zealot threads aren't bothered with, (for specific reasons which are opaque to the faith-blinded).
...especially when Off Topic, with the same intolerance, trying to make people look foolish for believing how they choose?
There's no need to "make" anyone look foolish when they post their irrational religious superstitions themselves. Indicating such irrationality does not constitute "intolerance". Falsely characterizing opposition however, constitutes lying on your part, (yes, such invalid "opinions" are lies).
... because Bible verse and inspirational threads ARE allowed in the forum, are NOT seen as proselytizing ...
No, to reiterate the salient point once again for the faith-blinded; such religious propagandizing & proselytization are permitted in these forums as are opposing viewpoints.
It's intolerant for you to keep saying that "Someone can definitely have the right to choose to be irrational and unreasonable by choosing God."
I neither keep saying that nor, have ever said that. What I have remarked is that others have the option to choose to be irrational and hold blind religious faith in a hypothetical supernatural egregore which lacks evidence of existing. Don't try attributing your 'spin' to me, especially when I've made my position perfectly clear prior to your spin-twist.
It shouldn't matter to you what anyone chooses - it's their personal choice.
It doesn't matter - as long as it remains private personal - however, publically posting such specious religious opinion means that their choice is no longer private and personal but, spewed forth like religious Tourettes. Further, once such a "choice" impinges upon others, (whether in a forum or, by way of crusades, inquisitions, witch hunts or forced cultural assimulations/suppression), it does matter to others.
-
Looks like neither wish to use the "Ignore Button."
It's a personal choice. Some xtians are using the 'ostrich subfunction' of the ignore button as well.
So this means your intolerance and trolling will continue ...
No, this means that I will continue to oppose superstious religious ignorance which is based upon blind faith and empty beliefs.
... and those opposing ... will continue. Isn't that just dandy?
What any rational readers will observe for themselves is that religious irrationality is being opposed by non-religious rationality and ignorant religious superstitious belief being opposed by logical reasoning.
-

No sir, you go way beyond simple opposition, and you know this. Interesting how many believers there are sharing their enjoyment in Bible verse threads, inspirational threads, etc., yet there are only a few who aren't believers, and share their opposition, and move on, while there is only you, and maybe one or two (occasionally,) who have a problem with those threads. Bless your heart, you, for the most part, stand alone in your intolerance and bashing, with the exception of a couple occasionally backing you. Interesting, indeed.
-
... you go way beyond simple opposition ...
That's your inherently-biased opinion, stemming from your specious religious beliefs. While you're 'entitled' to such a specious opinion, having one doesn't confer accuracy on it.
-

True; factual evidence and logical reasoning confer accuracy on my 'opinions' in this regard, as opposed to your illogical non-reasoning and total lack of evidence to support your speciously-biased 'opinion'. All "opinions" are not created equally.

not even in the counter-culture age when he went to college.
My goodness, it's a strange world, isn't it?

investment firm, one of the largest such firms in the
United States.
I did not know about the companies, but did get that email about his status as a citizen. We definitely need someone different than Obama! His change has taken all the change from our pockets.

Romney is evil, I refuse to vote for him. You do what you want at your booth.

A vote for Romney is a vote to completely wipe out the middle class in America. As an economics major in college, to my surprise , I learned that in the U.S. 80% of the wealth was owned by 1% of the population. That was over 20 years ago. Today it is 99% of the wealth being held by pretty much the same 1%. This trend of greed greatly escalated during the Bush administration which lasted 8 years and was implemented by deliberate design. Now, whats left of the middle class is being lured once again into supporting their own destruction by the promise of Jobs, and buying into the lie that redistribution of wealth is somehow a product of Socialism taking us on the wrong path - away from Capitalism which basically benefits the rich. What people don't understand is that Capitalism, unregulated (the Republican way) becomes exploitation of the masses for monetary gain. The masses being middle class Americans with some resources but little or no capital. There is information out there that addresses this if one is concerned enough to find out.
If you want to learn more about what is happening check out a book written by Paul Pierson, professor of political science at the University of California at Berkeley and co-authored with Yale professor of political science Jacob Hacker, "Winner-Take-All Politics: How Washington Made the Rich Richer and Turned Its Back on the Middle Class".
Bob Herbert of the New York Times called Winner-Take-All “the clearest explanation yet of the forces that converged over the past three decades or so to undermine the economic well-being of ordinary Americans.”)

Obama wants to make it 100% of the wealth to that 1%. Voting for Mitt Romney was the only way to start putting people back to work and bring some of the wealth to more people. He has a plan to make jobs and to lower the unemployed numbers.

Mitt Romney IS and has always been in that 1%, his entire life. Do your really think he is genuinely concerned about getting jobs for people in the middle class? His concern for creating jobs in the U S only goes as far as Tuesday's election, after he has your vote then you will see the REAL MITT ROMNEY. His real agenda is making sure that the rich continue to pay less taxes than you probably do unless you are rich also. Do yourself a favor and read the book I suggested. If he is elected, unfortunately you are in for a surprise when he turns back into the ultra conservative, power seeking individual that he is.

My vote is still for Mitt Romeny....sorry

Everyone has a right to vote for whomever they choose. Having said that, I have never heard specifics from Romney about his plans for the economy and jobs. Saying you're going to create jobs is not a specific plan. I voted by mail already and I can tell you my vote was not for Romney.
-
Romney has ran businesses all his life. What has Obama done apart from voting "present" in the senate over 100 times?
Obama said if the country wasn't in better shape than it was when he took office,he wouldn't seek a second term.So much for that promise.

Exactly, so people need to get over it and move on.

Mr. Romney's own party couldn't back him as evidenced by the inept characters that they kept supporting right up until he took the nomination...Cain, Bachman, Perry, Christie. The majority of the republican party is evangelical and wouldn't give him the support because of his religion. Mr. Obama was gracious in not attacking Mr. Romney for the support given to Murdoch who believed that a woman should carry full term, if molested, because it was God's will. Obama didn't attack Romney over his contrived Automobile jobs overseas numbers. Obama left Romney's statements about the 47% alone.

It's posts like these that remind me why I don't like to discuss politics online - I just happened to see these posts and felt like it would be good to read through some of them and at least say something! Glad to see no more political ads though.
