talking and texting ;D
-
I prefer talking instead of texting because you can have a focused two-way conversation and I enjoy listening to people's voice tones.

Texting. I really hate talking on the phone. Cell phones always sound terrible and I don't have a home phone.
-
Both are good to use and I like it...but I prefer texting because it is more convenient and I am not really a big talker on the phone; I am a shy person. For me I just like to text while I am on the go.
-
Texting is very impersonal, but it is my preference because I'm so busy most of the time.
-
I prefer talking. Texting is okay at times, but sometimes I would like to hear the person's voice
-
I perfer texting because you can't always talk on the phone without people getting bothered.
-
I don't really like talking on the phone so I tend to avoid it. Some conversations end up faster just calling instead of repeatedly texting back to clear things up though so I deal with it
-
Depending on what I'm doing.
And... if my headset is charged... chatting w hubby when he is driving... (otr trucker ).
Texting if I'm watching tv.. or knitting.
:bunny:
Happy Earnings

Technology will never replace in-person communication no matter how advanced it gets. You really can't get the feel of a person unless you actually speak with them. I don't like talking on the phone either, except for small talk or handling business.
-
I prefer talking.
-
Talking
-
It depends on the situation. If I feel like talking that moment, I do it, otherwise I text.
-
::) I'm a talker
-
I enjoy talking on the phone. I mostily do texting but enjoy a conversation with a friend to catch up.
-
If there is allot to say I'll talk I can't text fast enough if short talk I'll text.
-
I don't mind texting, but sometimes talking just to here someones voice

I guess I am old fashioned, I prefer talking although I am beginning to see the advantages of texting. Lately I find myself texting more and more.
-
I prefer texting much better. That way I can do more things at once.
-
I prefer texting. I hate to talk on the phone.
-
talking
-
They both have their place in my life. Texting is great if a quick questions or comment and don't know if someone is busy or I am busy and just need that bit of info. But some topics or issue that needs more discussion, I hate texting and much prefer to have a conversation and move on with it instead of what feels like a gazillion texts where everything gets confused.
Also, when texting I have learned not to presume anything!!! Between misspellings and interpretations some things can get out of hand. When someone receives text they are in the mood they are in and may not take the joke that was made etc. When talking you can hear the laughter or tones that set the mood. So I give everyone I text with the benefit of the doubt and encourage them to do the same with me if something doesn't sit well.
-
since i can't text i would have to say talking. but even if i did have texting capibilities i would perfer talking because i think it is more personal. that's like sending an actual letter to someone and not an email. a written letter lets family members see the progress of a childs writing.
-
texting, texting, texting!
-
No preference, but some situations are just suited better for one method. I hate carrying on a conversation through text messages when it would be much easier to talk. There's also those situations that don't warrant a phone call.
-
I do not like to talk on the phone, and I do not like the typing part of sending a text message.
I prefer to type on a keyboard and send an email.
-
talking Ilike to see who I'm talking to.
-
It honestly depends on what I'm doing and why I'm communicating. Most of the time, I prefer texting because it's faster. But there are times that a phone conversation makes things easier to explain and is more appropriate.
-
sometimes i like to talk more sometimes i like to text more
-
I prefer to text.I do talk to my daughter, but I prefer to text.It is a lot quicker and faster.
-
i perfere texting,,its just easier for me and is quicker :bunny:
-
To me it depends.
-
I generally prefer to text, but if I need to talk about something more in depth, I'll talk on the phone.
-
I don't mind doing both but, I prefer texting the most. I try to avoid talking on the phone as much as possible. The only reason I talk on the phone is to keep in touch with my mom. Otherwise, I would throw out my landline phone long time ago :)
-
I prefer to talk, but most of my friends like to text or chat. Sometimes you can misinterpret what someone types or texts because you can't see his or her face or hear the tone in his or her voice.
-
I like talking.
-
I prefer to talk, all that typing back and forth. you might as well pick up the phone and talk to the person.
-
Personally I prefer to text over talk. I have never been much to enjoy talking on the phone. I have the attention span of a goldfish so texting generally works out a lot better for me.
-
I Like texting better, I Find more to talk about whn texting and its less time consuming. ;D
-
texting and if i'm too lazy to type it in I just use the voice service on my phone so it writes what i say and sends it
-
I prefer talking. Sometimes when I text people they give me that one letter reply. That is not a conversation. You can text someone and they will take all day to text back.
-
I prefer talking; nothing takes ther place of hearing the human voice. However, sometimes, texting is more convenient.
-
I do both but preference depends upon how busy I am.
-
my preference is talking rather then texting I leave that up to the teenagers.
-
It depends on what I am trying to do. If I just want to say something quick, I will text a person, however, if I want to have a more in-depth conversation, then I would rather talk. Sometimes a few texts will lead me to call someone.
-
I prefer to text but honestly I don't like phones very much at all.
-
I prefer talking on the phone. It means so much more too me. e-mails are fun and i only text if i have to.
-
Depending on who Im communicating with, depends on who Id text or speak to on the phone.
-
I don't mind talking to people over the phone however i do like texting people more, that way if i am doing work around the house i can still use both hands and get it done faster :)
-
Either is fine by me
-
I like texting, mostly because it doesn't completely consume me but I don't mind talking, as long as there is a good signal and something to talk about. :)
-
Do you prefer talking or texting? I prefer texting. Texting is more convenient for me. I dont like talking on phone, talking on the phone is boring to me.
I prefer talking but texting is more convenient...easier to get things done around that house while texting...not as easy if you are talking on the phone
-
texting...so much easier to multi-task & respond when it's convenient
-
talking and preferably face to face. A quick text is ok to send a message, but marathon texting is not for me! Besides I ama weak typist, so it does not go smooth for me.
-
Depends! I prefer to call when i'm in a hurry and when i'm not doing anything I like to text. :P
-
If I like the person, then I like to phone them and talk....and if I don't particularly like them, then it's texting. Unfortunately I have a very basic cell phone, so the texting can take up a lot of time. :(
-
It really depends on the message that I am trying to convey. If I am trying to communicate with someone that is hard to get off the phone I prefer to keep my time intact by texting the person. If I am in a meeting and don't want to interrupt a speaker I will text. I am somewhat slow at texting so if I have a lengthier message to share I prefer to call. I prefer to text and e-mail if I am communicating with someone who is unreliable...so that I have proof of what was said. E-mails work the best. When it comes to communicating I prefer to use e-mails.
-
I like talking on the phone better than txting/im a slow txter so the phone is much faster to say what u need to say
-
I prefer talking, I don't do much texting. Maybe when I get a new phone I'll get into texting more.
-
It all depends on what I have to say.
If it's a quick question and I don't have a lot of time I text.
But, if it's more involved question or I just want to chat and see how they are doing I'm dialing.
-
A lot of times texting is good for conveying some simple message or discussing where to meet in a short amount of time. In that way texting is better but if you can't meet with the people in person and you don't get to see them much talking on the phone might be better or sending emails.
-
I prefer to text and e-mail if I am communicating with someone who is unreliable...so that I have proof of what was said. E-mails work the best. When it comes to communicating I prefer to use e-mails.
I prefer email too so there's a paper trail especially when it is work related. They also tend to keep longer than texts so I can go back if I need a refresher. I also can't be bothered by email when I don't want to be unlike a cell phone.
-
Texting is more convenient, but sometimes actual human interaction is needed.
-
I like texting usually, but I agree, if it is a brief comment or question Text message works. Anything else human interaction is best.
-
I like talking when I'm face to face. If not I prefer to text. Texting is quick and brief and I can enjoy what I'm doing in the moment.
-
I prefer talking!!
-
Texting for sure, especially with my kiddos around - not that they are naughty, they are just needy :)
-
I love talking on the phone better than texting.
-
Depends on what I'm doing. If it's just informing someone about some that doesn't matter if they get it now or later, I'll just text it. If I absolutely need to talk to someone though, I will call.
-
I prefer talking, but not over the phone. Face to face conversation. It's a dying art! ;)
-
I prefer talking....especially when someone texts a long message...easier just to call than trying to type the message. Texting is good..if it's short..also when u can't talk like at work.
-
I like both...
Some people are awkward when talking, some are awkward when texting.
-
Do you prefer talking or texting? I prefer texting. Texting is more convenient for me. I dont like talking on phone, talking on the phone is boring to me.
I like texting better although, you never really know WHO ANY text you get on you phone came from in actuality................
-
Depends on who it is I am talking/texting with.
-
To me cell phone were made for TALKING and that is my preference, but my girls love to text so I text them back when they cannot talk I will text. I have a friend that the only way she communicates with you is by texting so I told her that if she has no time to have a one on one CONVERSATION over the phone I do not have time for TEXTING, since it is not the same. Texting is so impersonal
-
I prefer talking - if I'm going to have a conversation with someone, I'd prefer to hear their voice and respond in kind. Texting can be like email - that interpretation of the "tone" may be misinterpreted, particularly if you don't know the person that well.
I find texting to be convenient when you need to send someone a message, but are not expecting a response. Like letting a friend who is picking you up know if the flight is delayed, or informing a spouse to pick up something at the store.
-
I prefer talking instead of texting because you can have a focused two-way conversation and I enjoy listening to people's voice tones.

I like to do both but I prefer talking than texting because i can do a lot of things while talking on the phone. texting is only good if you don't want people to hear your conversation.
-
Texting can be good for short or quick messages, but I would rather talk.
-
Texting
-
Any method as long as we get the message across.
-
It depends. I'll text if i'm just saying hi to someone but if the texting gets too much then i will call. It also depends who i'm trying to get in touch with.
-
talking on the phone and in person people /kids/ teens have no social skills any more due to chat lined and texting
-
i have nver liked talking on the phone. i prefer texting bc it is short and sweet :bunny:
-
Text.
I'm agoraphobic. I'd rather text someone then talk.
I don't even answer my phone half the time. Sometimes I just text back "you called?".
It all depends who's calling. Certain people I'd rather talk to face to face.
Otherwise, it's all text or online XD.
-
T-A-L-K… “TALK!” I never text anyone with my phone. Talking is much faster and efficient than texting.
-
I prefer talking on my cell phone rather than texting because I'm older and I've never developed my texting skills.
My first choice, when it's time to communicate, is to send emails.
-
Technology including texting, has turned a lot of people into mindless automatons. I'll always prefer talking. :crybaby2: :crybaby2: :crybaby2:
-
Talking
-
It depends on who's listening, if nobody is listening, then I like talking, but if someone can overhear, I like texting...
-
Talking face to face. You can't see a person's body language or tone of voice with a text message.
-
I have a cell phone and if I had to text it would take me so long that if I drive to see them and cook supper I quicker to do those. I have never master texting. I just talk it is less trouble. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and may God bless each of you and keep you safe.
-
I used to talk, but now that I am going to school and busy all the time, texting is better than getting drawn out into a long conversation
-
Texting has it's place, if you want to say one thing or send the same thing to multiple people, but if there is going to be any kind of back and forth then I prefer talking.
-
Texting
-
Texting. Im on the phone all day
-
Texting is very impersonal, but it is my preference because I'm so busy most of the time.
I agree, texting is impersonal and plus you can't drive and text, plus I haven't figured out how to text - I guess I am old fashoned, so I'd rather talk then text.!
-
I like to talk on the phone when important topics are discussed. I like to text when I have only a few minutes to get my message across. I also like to email/facebook when I have a few more minutes, but don't need an immediate response.
-
Depends on the situation. I have a few friends I can sit on the phone w/ talking for hours. And if it's business or needs an immediate response, talking. But most of the time I prefer text. It's quick, I can get in contact w/ people even if I don't have time to stop and talk (I work and go to school full time). And perhaps the best is never having to go, "Huh? Sorry, I can't hear/understand you. What did you say?" Which is one of the reasons why the best conversations are usually face-to-face.
-
I much prefer texting.
I get tired ear and arm from holding the phone up to my head when conversations run too long.
When you text, it's brief, so no uncomfortable ear or arm. ;D
-
Talking.
-
I like both but I most perfer talking coz sometime I get bored of texting coz Im on da computer alot n I do alot of typing. So I like talking. :)
-
Ten years ago, I was introduced to texting by a guy. It was fun. However, at that time, I didn't realize my calling plan didn't cover texts and I ran up a $400 phone bill. As money was tight, I was horrified. Today, my calling plan is unlimited. I like both texting and talking. I try to actually talk more than I text though.
-
Texting...allows for conversations to stay direct and to the point.
-
It depends. If it's something urgent I'd rather talk but for leisurely conversing I'd rather text b/c I can get stuff done and come back to it as I please.
-
I always text except when i have lots to say
-
Hi Eugenia,
I am old school. I prefer talking instead of texting. In my opinion, talking helps people feel connected to one another. Talking is also much more personal than texting.
-
I prefer talking, but I do text. I find it difficult though because I have a touch phone and you have to be very precise when you're touching the letters. :peace:
-
I like texting for sure better - Every once in awhile I like to talk to a couple of people for a couple of minutes lol - but for the most part I can't stand talking on the phone - texting is much better and quieter.
-
Texting!
-
I prefer talking, texting consume time to type and you cannot get the answer immediately.
-
If you are busy doing something texting is a lot easier because you don't have the constantly hold the phone. You can do things between texts.
-
Texting.
-
I agree even though people think it's not social or personal I don't like talking on the phone. We can text each other what we need to say and that's it. No sitting around trying to have a conversation for an hour.
-
I like talking better because you can actually hear their attitude towards whatever you talking about
-
texting for sure!
-
If I have like one thing to say texting. If I have alot to say talking. :fish:
-
Depends on who is on the other end!! If I don't have much to say definitely texting but if very much talking...Got just a flip phone and can only text so much at a time!
-
i prefer talking coz it's faster and i dont run into things. i see everything in front of me and it's less dangerous.
-
I perfer talking, but I have begun to accept the fact that the world is changing an that I must change. So I'm open to texting but perfer talking on the phone. :icon_rr:
-
When I talk to people I learn things from them as well asAs well as them learning things for me . But texting is nice to its fun to text back and forth I text to my Son every now and then and it's easier to text as you interrupting when their doing something. And we will always Talk over what you text.Saw the bulk good texting and talking on the phone you learn to earn both ways and see you both follow. But texting a little harder when you don't have hard times spelling but I get Dragon speech and if your phones are adaptable to let you can use you can to text to them also..
-
I prefer to talk because texting can be so aggravating. The words you type come out wrong. If you have alot to say you have to send more than one text. Sometimes they don't go through and you waiting on response. If i talk to you, i say everything i need to say and i know you got it because you hear me. Call me and talk to me if you want to tell me something don't text me! :)
-
talking. I have an old phone and it takes forever to text back and forth.
-
I think texting is a nice feature when you are unable to talk or multi tasking or something but do not think it should replace talking to the point it is awkward to talk on the phone. I enjoy talking on the phone hearing the person talk and actually conversate and laugh and have more of a connection and i get annoyed with texting all the time. But i do think texting is very nice when I am in class or somewhere where i can not be on the phone.
-
it all depends on who I am talking to some peole I would rather txt also if I am mad its better I txt
-
I prefer talking to texing. texing is so impersonal to me. I love to hear the person voices, and to determine if the people are genuine or faking.
-
I do both.
Texting is a convenient way to get a quick message to one of my kids or to my husband.
Talking on the phone is better for longer conversations.
-
texting
-
talking hate texting
-
TEXTING! Hate talking on the phone UNLESS I am driving!!
NEVER text and drive!
-
I prefer talking than texting cause i get my message faster than when texting,
if i talk to the person they i know
the person were talking with me.
But if i texting the person don't have to answer the same time.
Also talking and texting is still important...
-
Texting is okay if you don't really want to talk, but I would much rather talk and listen to voices, especially my families.
-
I'm okay with talking or texting. But sometimes, I want people to call me. The conversation seems more real when you hear the other person's voice.
-
I agree with Missyvette on texting, after a while I want hear your voice. Some young have died for texting while driving. This sadden my heart,
-
Talking is faster then texting, well to me it is ;D
-
Texting alot more now. I don't have time for hour long conversations
-
It depends on what mood I'm in. And some people are better talkers than texters. So it just depends.
-
depends on who i am communicating with, what it's about, the amount of time I have at the moment....sometimes it's better to talk,,other times it's faster and easier to text
-
Texting because you get straight to the point without all that boring small talk.
-
I prefer talking. The text to speech thing can be kind of funny though.
-
talking..only time i do text is when i dont want anyone hear what i am thinking or saying
-
talking
-
I prefer texting
-
I love to talk some time but love to text to me and my little girl.
-
It depends on what I'm doing. If I just have to ask a quick question or it doesn't matter if they get back to me later, then I will generally just text the person so I can get the answer and move on. However, if I need to explain something to someone or need the answer right now, then I will call the person so I know the answer will be clear or I have the knowledge immediately.
-
i do both as there time i need to talk on the phone as it important and it pain to make along conversation on the cell phone :)
-
I like to do both but most of the time I would text
-
texting much moreso than talking. i can say what i want to say and go without having to wait on answers from anyone else
-
Texting
-
It depends on who I am conversing with. Some friends I would much rather text. My dad on the other hand I like to talk to him on the phone so I can hear his voice since we live so far apart.
-
Talking, thats what phones are for....they invented the phone so people didn't have to write anymore and now the phone is for "writing"..??? Makes no sense!!
-
im from the old school so i perfer talking on the phone rather than texing
