Winter is come if you having a bad cold or really bad caugh, try this one for heal up.
It works 100% of the time, although the scientists who discovered it aren't sure why.
To stop night time coughing in a child (or adult as we found out personally), put Vicks VapoRub generously on the soles of your feet, cover with socks, and the heavy, deep coughing will stop in about 5 minutes and stay stopped for many, many hours of relief. Works 100% of the time and is more effective in children than even very strong prescription cough medicines.
In addition it is extremely soothing and comforting and they will sleep soundly. :wave:

I agree: It works a 100% every time it is used! I use it on my upper lip at the entrance of my nose. What a relieve! It is fantastic as a lip gloss.

yup, I always use it in the winter or when I get sick. I love it and use it when I can't breath or when I have a soar throat.

I also love the brand. The functionalty wouldn't fit the criteria as would duct tape for essential survivor gear, but for some reason I'm compelled to always have Vicks on hand just in case. I think I need to apply for Vicks vapor rub anonymous.

I absolutely love the smell of vaporub, it also reminds me of when my mama would take care of me when I was sick.

I agree Vicks Vapor Rub works great! I was told by my older generations to remember to wipe off the Vicks Vapor Rub with a dry cloth before going into water, I think its because your cold will get worst not certain why. This is what I do for myself and my household and I always used a towel or wash cloth to wipe it off the next morning after I used it the night before and so far so good ;)

never heard about putting it on the soles of the feet before. I will definitely try that the next time my kids get a bad cough.

I also remember when our mother used Vicks to help us feel better when we were sick. It is such a comforting memory. This may sound gross, but sometimes if I wake up in the middle of the night with a stuffy nose, I put some directly into my nostrils. It works!!

Wow! I would never have thought of putting it on the feet.....when I was a kid my mother and grandmother would rub it all over my chest. I thought it was the most uncomfortable feeling! I hardly ever use it on my kids and when I do I just put it on their throats or under the nose...but I will definitely try the feet next time one of us is sick. Thank you for the insight. :)

My grandparents used it on me and i used it on my kids and me. It seems to do the trick.

An old friend used to swallow a glob of Vicks for a chesty cold/cough. She swore by it, but I have not been brave enough to put it in my mouth! :confused1:

Thanks for that information! That is great to know. I haven't gotten a cold in a while, but when I do the coughing is awful. I will have to try that next time.
The only way I used vapor rub before was on my chest and put a dry washcloth over it. I laid beneath my blanket and the vapors would rise into my nose and mouth to calm the cough and help me sleep at night with a cold. But your suggestion is even better for me to try. I just hope I don't end needing to use it because I hate colds. LOL
