everybody shops there i think they will take over the world! lol :o

I refuse to shop there. Too many cheap goods from china and anyone I've ever talked to that worked there said they treat their workers poorly.
No thanks.

Have you ever shopped elsewhere, you can't find any materials made in USA anymore. It's not just Wal-Mart. Go to Macy's and see what you can find made in USA. I went to Kohls, JC Penny's an tried to purchase clothes made in USA but, I found a shirt that I saw in Wal-Mart that I would have paid $10 at WalMart the cost was $25 at JC Penny's - Identical shirt made in Pakistan. All the clothing outlets are doing it. We don't make anything here anymore. I like to go to different stores and do comparison shopping and you would be surprised at a identical item could vary from one store to another.

You're right, not too much is made in the USA these days. It still doesn't change the fact that I disagree how they treat their workers.

Being on a fixed income, Wally World as I call it is about the only place I can afford to shop and everything I need is in one place. Of course you must remember, most of theirproducts are from China. I wish I could afford to shop for American brands, but I just can't afford to. I do shop for lower sodium products that are offered, try to buy organic or free range chicken, and bison meat because I know there is no pink slime in it. Do you make these kinds of choices when you shop for your food. I also have a garden to raise my own pesticide free produce.

I'm guilty for being a hypocrite when it comes to Walt-mart. When my older kids (14 & 13) were babies and toddlers I shopped at our local wal-mart once a week. My bank was there and it was the most convenient and practical way for me to get everything done. Easy on the purse strings too. Shortly after my 3rd child was born I found myself working in a wal-mart bakery as a cake decorator and shopping more at Aldi. I left wal-mart fed up with the way employee's are treated. Now I find myself shopping there minimally as I don't wish to support such foul management tactics. I stick to Aldi for the most part, Target & Jewel when the sales are decent and wal-mart only if it's for convenience. If only I knew than what I know now I never would have dropped $500 or so each month in sales at there store.

just to think about it, i need a ride to wally world lmbo

Walmart is so awesome! It literally has the best prices for almost anything. Their everyday low prices are hard to match. The only stores that can beat them in prices are Grocery Outlet and Dollar Stores. Those stores don't have the variety and quality that Walmart has though. ;D
-
everybody shops there i think they will take over the world! lol :o
Some of there stuff is cheaply made and falls apart. Most of they bargains are not really cheaper than grocery stores when you have a close look at what your getting. So no I don't think Walmart will take over anything except selling bad items.
-
I order stuff online, because it's usually cheaper to look around and find stuff on sale. Most places have their own series of coupon codes if you look around to find stuff.
-
It is ahame when people want to be patriotic and hold an american flag that is made in china. You are not going to find many things made in this country. 99 percent of stores sell things made some where else. So it really does not matter where you shop.

I agree. Ever since Sam died, the corporate officers have decided to signficantly increase prices while keeping merchandise quality so low that it's most cost-effective to shop at traditional grocery stores or even farmer's markets. Sam had a good business plan which took advantage of practical economics, (price lower, sell more as opposed to price higher, sell less).
I agree with that.

I worked there for awhile, in between teaching jobs (actually I was supposed to be off for a year to recuperate from illness, but had to pay my bills) and was only supposed to be part time. It ended up right at full time. Once they found out I had cash register experience, they would move me to the registers during peak times, but then afterwards, I (and all others involved, too) was/were expected to still zone up our department before we could leave. When people were out, it took way longer. It about killed me, so unfortunately, I had to quit, or shorten my life span.

Oh no, the 'zombie apocalypse' must be drawing nigh for that to occur!
:o
Ha ha! It's already drawing nigh for the Twinkies closing down, too! I guess we should record a rare agreement here, lol!

You're all mostly right. However, if you look, you can still find a few USA made products even in WalMart. I went there just last weekend and bought a set of 18 coat hangers for $1.50. Plastic coat hangers. If anything was supposed to be made in China, you'd think it would be that, but they were made in the USA.
-
I really like how they price check....it sure saves going to one store for the good deals!
-
Me and my husband do shopping there every week.
-
I like walmart and shop there often. My daughter worked there and complained
almost every day that it is not as good as most people think.

For those of us who are on a fixed income, we can't afford to shop elsewhere. Of course if Our Government would get their act together and provide manufacturering jobs in this country instead of supporting outsourced labor, we would have Made in USA again and our quality of merchandise would go up along with the number of people working, instead of unable to find a job. We do have to find a solution to the Union problem before our economy can turn itself around. Is there a magic potion that decreases greediness? :dontknow:

I think you are confused. The government should not provide manufacturing jobs at a loss (that they cover using taxes). The free market economy should provide the manufacturing jobs and only if its profitable (which if it wasn't, the free market economy would no start these businesses). The main reason why manufacturing is not profitable in the united states is because of the government regulations and over taxation. And to look too the government for a solution to a problem they caused is ludicrous.

I like walmart
-
Does anyone remember when walmart first opened? All of their ad's said they were selling american goods made by americans for americans...
That didn't last long.
-
I was reading through some of the earlier comments and was curious as to "how" they treat their employees badly as compared to other stores like Target, Aldi, K-mart, etc.
The problems I've seen in ours seems to be a lot of "no communication" between the workers and the management (and between the management) because no one ever knows whats going on and no matter who you talk to, you never get the same answer to a basic question twice.
They also seem to treat customers with more respect than their workers even if that customer has just taken advantage of management or obviously have been drinking or is mentally unstable. Basically they will be happy to let a customer walk away with free stuff, let them set their own prices or make up their own sales and if they wish to create a dramatic scene in the store---their little feelings matter more than the employee that just has to take their crap...and then the employee gets terminated later so they can hire in more workers at minimum wage. Sound similar?? HATE the Walmart way.
-
years ago my wife and i worked there believe me the store we were at did not treat any of its employees as family in fact the store manager has been complained about so much that she should have been fired but she has family higher up the chain they built a supercenter but she still couldnt make it go so now it is a dead end store the store was suppose to get a gas station but she isnt even getting that she got in trouble last month for not keeping her store stocked the way shes suppse to so much that she was actually working to get it caught back up before they came back
-
wow...this isnt how i thought it would end up...people complaining about walmart...lol if your too good to shop at walmart you must have alota money. but it still seems like everybody shops there maybe they will take over one stop shop and things are cheaper there than at target.
-
I shop there because they have the best prices, and they do have some things that are made in the USA, you just have to check each item!
-
I usually only buy from walmart that i can't get anywhere else as cheap, I will not buy toys or anything that is made in china if i can get out of it. Also when it comes to food stuff no way jose. Only from usa and canada. once in a while something from mexico that i am sure of. Otherwise will make it or do without it.
-
Walmart I don't shop at Walmart often I only shop when I'm out with family when they go there.
But I will purchased something if I like what I see.
-
I try to avoid Walmart... but I find myself going there once in a while for groceries.
-
i cant standddddd walmart. the only store worse to shop in is dollar tree. is a shame that they happen to be the cheapest prices around here :(
-
I'm much more worried about Facebook than Walmart in terms of "taking over the world".
-
When Walmart first open up in the South Carolina, I couldn't stay away from walmart, but now seems like the store has went down. Some prices in Walmart isn't always reasonable.
-
I walmark is a good story and I go there all the time they have some much you can get you go there you get more then you pall to get so I till all of my friend's to go to walmark and get the thinking's you will see were your money go it is the best story to go too so go you will see for your self.
-

-
they have everything i need in 1 store and i get it done fast
-
Walmart lost my business. I have a disability and Walmart would not let me borrow a wheelchair. I hate Walmart!
-
Thank Goodness for Walmart that is actually the only store I shop at and here recently I go just to get Milk and Cereal you cannot beat the price and I love the sales and clearance racks
-
Walmart, I don't shop at Walmart very often I order online and got sales and satisfied with every purchase.
-
Become a walmart affiliate and cut out a piece of their pie for yourself :)
-
Wallmart products used to be made in the USA and now everything they sell is made all over the world.
-
One thing that I noticed with Wal-Mart is that what they offer in the stores they don't have online. I feel that the online items has the best prices and they offer different items.
-
I shop online at walmart sometimes and I always get a good deal. I think it is a trend to pick on walmart. Why don't people pick on target that place really sucks. :angry7:
-
i went to walmart twice - but never again - never can find the same thing twice - a very rude place - i like mom and pop stores - they know who you are and i can walk there
-
I purchase some things at Walmart, like household supplies, beverages, snacks. I don't buy clothes or furniture there. I have a family member who works for Walmart and she reports that they treat their employees poorly....NOT what Sam Walton had in mind.
-
i shop there too...
-
hmmmm.....this evolved lol ;D
-
95% of employees look like hobos...
-
I think Walmart will definitely be around for a long, long, time. One of the main reasons I say this is because their prices are low and convenient and just anybody can afford it. It doesn't matter whether you are low, middle, or high income there's something available for all incomes. Besides all of that the store has a variety of products such as groceries, clothes, electronics, household, automotive, household, beauty, shall I go on................!
-
i try to limit how much i shop at this store simply because i used to work for them and i know how they treat their employees. lets just say it was not a happy time for me. i wish that other people could offer lower prices as well because then it would be a more even playing field.
-
Worked with them a lot and the goal is the bottom line.
-
:bunny:I for the most part love walmart. I don't always like all the other shoppers lol but that's beside the point. I go to walmart a few times a week and am always searching walmart.com :bunny:
-
I don't have the luxury to object to any of their practices since I don't have any of their competitors in my county and I don't own a car. They do have good prices, but my local store is lousy at keeping things in stock. I like the site to store option for shopping online since it saves me disappointing trips and I get paid for placing orders online. I don't like how they've cut out some of my preferred products though. Now we have a new manager and more empty shelves. :dontknow:
-
95% of employees look like hobos...
That's not true. 95% of employees ARE hobos. 72% of Walmart hourly employees are get government assistance of some kind according to a J.D. Powers & Associate survey.
-
I use to live for Walmart, but now I can't even get to Walmart and really don't care if I do. Their customer service aren't friendly or polite, just plain rude. Walmart lost my vote long time ago. :bs:
-
imagine the 2 litters of coca cola cost $1.19 at walmart and $1.99 at walgreens. I choose to go to walmart on any day of the week ;D ;D ;D
-
I shop at walmart, I have no shame about it, gotta save money for the family
-
I shop at Walmart, but their customer service is very poor.
-
oh i love shopping at walmart well its practicality to me, cheap goods which i can save and it doesnt affect me if its from china or anywhere coz from china or not its still not from U.S.
-
i love walmart and 99 cents stores :D i aint afraid to show them love.. ^_^
-
i shop at walmart a lot of the coupons they have from this site are to there as well.
-
I owned stock in Walmart for about 5 years and it didn't do squat... I sell it and guess what, it doubles... I didn't go back to Walmart for a number of years and I was only hurting myself, so I'm now back...
-
I think they will eventually fall. They have gone down hill in the way they treat their employees since Mr. Walton died.
-
I was going through the self check out at our local wal mart. They had only 1 full service lane and the express lane open with people waiting in line. I scanned a sweatshirt with a gray body and red arms and hood. The gal who was watching those lanes came to me and said "I need to check your bagged items" so I asked why and she said" because you put two items in the bag and only scanned one. OOOO..I said "excuse me". Needless to say I didn't steal anything I asked to speak with the manager and after a half hour of waiting I left, went home called the store, the manager still wouldn't come to the phone. So I call their corporate office in Ark. Told them what happened and said if your too cheap to hire people to cover your lanes then you shouldn't accuse people of stealing when they are forced to check themselves out. They sent me 100 dollar gift card. I gave it away and have never been back and that was 3 years ago. I also tell everyone who will listen!
-
i think walmart is a great store to shop at and reasable prices
-
There was a sewing room where I came from...it had been there for years...they packed it up and moved it to Mexico....there was a lot of people put out of work....the clothes made there were for JC Penny and a lot of other places there was a special label for Penny and one for the other companies....same quality, but the brands in Penny cost more......same material, same product, just the label....I refuse to pay more for a name when the quality is the same...
-
I shop at Walmart and like to shop there. I can find virtually anything there. I choose it over other stores. :) ;D

walmart is a home away from home.
-
it certainly seems that way...personally only go when I have to, hate shopping there

It is all about competetion in a tight economy. People are looking for bargains and good customer services. Walmart stores provide both to the general public.
-
I think almost everyone shops at Wal-Mart at some point regardless of their personal opinion of the company. They are open all night, and often the only local department store. It sure beats paying 2 or 3 times the asking price at a convenience store or a local merchant. Nothing against either, it is just very hard for them to compete when money IS an object.
