Post by: Gerianne on November 15, 2012, 06:07:35 am
does anyone notice any difference in the stores?
Are there labels on packages saying the food is NOT "GMO"?

The only thing I have seen that on is corn chips, and taco chips.

I haven't seen anything, but isn't it state-by-state and everything? I know there was a huge act being voted on regarding the labeling, but I feel like it was just in CA.

It was being voted on here in California, it lost big time.  It was one of those things that sounded like a good idea but the costs were too high.  It would put lots of family farms under big financial  stress.  Seedless grapes are GMOs, they are modified to not have seeds.  Seedless watermelons have GMO's.  They are altered.  Any foods that would  use either of these would have GMOs.  Foods that have over the years been made to grow heartier or modified to have a longer growing season.....GMOs.     GMOs are plants that have at some time been genetically engineered , whose DNA has been modified to include the genetic material of another organism.  Some of this even happens naturally in nature.

So far all the labels on the packages in the store still looks the same.
